@Noodles4Me i will be 10 weeks for mine which feels quite late when I informed them at 5 weeks! Mainly because I’d like to know when my 12 week scan is but I guess they won’t book it until my first appointment so that’s only two weeks notice.

Bexxy28 · 04/09/2023 10:24

@Belle26 I could of write this myself! Im 7 weeks tomorrow and I'm feeling the exact same as you!! Im excited but also nervous! My scan is on Sunday when I'm 7+5 I'm so nervous but being positive by telling myself it will be all okay🤞 good luck for Wednesday 💘

Aww good luck with your scan too. I hope it reassures us both once we've had a scan. I feel like I'm not allowing myself to enjoy pregnancy because I'm worrying so much

BVIre · 04/09/2023 11:29

Hi guys- sorry slightly new to the chat but was active in the early days of the first thread but then became a ball of anxiety so logged off for a bit!

I went for an early scan on Saturday measuring 8+2 & due the 11th April which is only one day out from what I calculated so allowing myself to get a bit excited again!

This is super random but I was reading my NHS appointment letter again over the weekend for the end of September & it says to bring a urine sample. What do people bring their pee in to this appointment?!

Emilyj13 · 04/09/2023 11:50

Hi all,
Has anyone else have covid whilst in 1st trimester? (This time or previous pregnancies) I am feeling pretty rubbish, not done a test yet as not sure if it will worry me more. Anything I should or shouldn’t do? Is this a risk? After previous miscarriage, I am like the others having reached 7 weeks the furthest and now even more anxious than what I already was!!

BVlre hey its my first pregnancy also, im guessing you can do a sample at the hospital when you go as they will provide you with a small tub, they arent very specific are they ugh like how do they expect you to provide a sample without the main thing lol😂

Mrsttcno1 · 04/09/2023 12:35

Hi everyone! I’m also 7 weeks today & my nausea thankfully hasn’t been as bad this morning but my boobs are in agony and I’m in the office today so they are stuck in a bra. I’m also STARVING hungry🤣 I have a scan booked for Friday at 7+4 so got everything crossed for a positive scan! Xx

BVIre · 04/09/2023 12:38

@Babyrabbit1 see that’s what I was thinking but they want you to have a full bladder for the scan? So in my head they need you to bring the sample with you like that’s what it says on my letter! Don’t really fancy carrying round a home container with my wee in it

Bexxy28 · 04/09/2023 12:40

@Babyrabbit1 @BVIre hey! Your gp will have urine samples available, you can collect one and then do the sample at home and bring it with you! X

Bexxy28 · 04/09/2023 12:48

Is anyone else’s booking appointment really late? I’ll be 11 weeks when I finally see a midwife

Im not in the UK and we dont have midwives here (just docs and nurses who specialise in OBGYN), and my first appointment will be at nearly 11 weeks as well, at 10+4.
Im sure it wont make too much of a difference! :)

@Bexxy28 Im glad you told them! You can now enjoy your holiday without the stress of hiding it! And Im sure your scan will be fine on Sunday!

@Belle26 Youll be fine!!! Your scan will go great, Im sure!

As I entered 9 weeks, my (very few) symptoms seem to have eased. The food aversions seem to be better, and Im not getting any spontaneous nausea. Today my boobs are a bit sorer than before, but thats all!

ASGIRC · 04/09/2023 14:14

@BVIre Your local pharmacy is also likely to sell the containers.
If you so it at home, be sure to clean your genital area (baby wipe will do!), ignore the first stream, and preferably use FMU.

I once didnt take all these precautions (wasnt told about them!) and it came back I had a UTI. I had no symptoms. Was told to repeat, taking those precautions, and it came back clean!

@bexxy28 its so wierd isnt it but so exciting at the same time🥺🥺🥺

BVIre · 04/09/2023 16:28

@ASGIRC @Bexxy28 thanks so much I’ll try my gp/pharmacy hahaha I had images of me coming into the hospital with my wee in a cleaned out chinese takeaway container lol

Bexxy28 · 04/09/2023 18:00

@BVIre no stop it 🤣🤣🤣 love this lol

Emma1822 · 04/09/2023 18:10

Can anyone advise what happens at the booking appointment because my midwife basically said everything including a scan but I didn’t think you did that at the booking appointment or am I being ditsy😩😂

Mrsttcno1 · 04/09/2023 18:13

@Emma1822 I don’t think you have a scan at the booking appointment no. Mine is next week and my midwife advised I come to the appointment with an idea of my schedule for the next month or so because she will book me first NHS scan with me at the appointment for between 11 and 14 weeks x

Emma1822 · 04/09/2023 18:15

@Mrsttcno1 Thank you so much that’s what I thought mines next Thursday so will be 8weeks and a bit and thought surely not a scan😂
I thought I best double check as my partner was like I’m coming if there’s a scan and I was like I 100% don’t think you have one then😂xx

Misty84 · 04/09/2023 18:54

Best of luck for your scans this week @Belle26 and @dory0!

@CluelessInLondon I also panic if I have a lapse in symptoms, I think there must be something wrong/it’s all over. It’s a big relief to have a few symptoms!!

@Noodles4Me My booking in appointment is at 9 weeks, I don’t think it matters too much though🙂

Misty84 · 04/09/2023 18:55

@Emma1822 In my experience there isn’t a scan at the booking in appointment xx

sugarplum33 · 04/09/2023 19:35

@Emma1822 Did she maybe mean booking a scan? I've never heard of a community midwife carrying out a scan, they would refer you on to the hospital.

@BVIre According to my extensive research of Call the Midwife, women used to bring their wee in a jam jar which was problematic when it came to measuring sugar in the urine and the jar was still a bit jammy! I recommend asking your GP for a pot instead 🤣

Bexxy28 · 04/09/2023 20:37

Hi everyone! See those of you who had early reassurance scans with the NHS, did your partner go with you? Don't know why I'm now thinking are they allowed in 🤣 feel so silly asking this x

Emma1822 · 04/09/2023 20:56

@sugarplum33 Thank you that’s probably what she means my town is really weird one building is both the doctors for the town and the building next to it is the hospital 🫣

Misty84 · 04/09/2023 22:07

@Bexxy28 Yes your partner is allowed in!
