Had a scan today due to previous losses. Saw gestational sac and yolk sac in the right place! Measuring a little bit earlier but she did say they give and take a good 5 days either way at this point as they are measuring mm. Prescribed progesterone pessaries- if anyone else has been on them or is currently on them what are they like? Any side effects?
Rescan in 2 weeks and hope to see heart beat then.🤞🏼

They are grim! Wear liners and prepare to constantly feel sticky and greasy!

Otherwise, I havent really felt any side effects. Just disgust at the constant white buttery leakage! 😂

ASGIRC · 30/08/2023 10:03

@Rainbow890 honestly, I have learned recently that having symptoms means absolutely nothing, and you can still have very very strong symptoms while your pregnancy has stopped evolving.

I have few symptoms, only really mild nausea and food aversion, and I honestly wish I didnt have any at all!

Caitlin991 · 30/08/2023 10:24

I had zero symptoms with my son, it was great, although anxiety inducing!

This time round I’m exhausted and nauseous all the time and the food aversions are intense.
my in laws announced that they’re bringing a fish pie round for dinner tonight and I can’t think of anything worse - not sure how I’m not going to give the game away/get out of eating it 🤢

CinderRosie · 30/08/2023 11:15

@Caitlin991 can you pretend you had fish pie for lunch or something, forgetting they were bringing one over? Or announce you're on a diet and have already eaten, or sit and eat whatever you can stomach and say it's calorie counted.

WolfMother326 · 30/08/2023 11:25

I had a private reassurance scan this morning, mostly just because of my age. Was measuring 6+4, which was what I thought, and was nice to see the little heartbeat. Feel a bit more settled now. I wanted to do it in a week or two, but we're about to be out of town visiting my in laws and thought I'd feel better going having had the scan.

Hope I'm not upsetting anyone by sharing positive scan news, I see there have been some mixed experiences lately and I hope everyone's babies are well.

sugarplum33 · 30/08/2023 11:46

@Caitlin991 Oh fish pie 🤢 Good ideas from @CinderRosie. Have they told you about the pie themselves or was it via your hubby and you can blame him for not passing on the message and say you've already eaten? Or maybe the fish pie looks delicious but you had an upset stomach after fish recently and can't quite bring yourself to eat it again so soon afterwards.

@WolfMother326 That's great, it's lovely to share positive news and experiences.

Rainbow890 · 30/08/2023 12:34

For those worried about measurements. Try and remember that our babes are just millimeters right now, maybe a couple of centimetres at most.

Both sonographers (obviously very experienced and skilled) were very quick to measure the width of the baby. My husband commented that if they were even the slightest bit out, when talking millimeters thats a huge difference.

My first scan i measured 7+1 and 2 days later i measured 8+0. I told the sonographer and she said it could be 7+3 to 8+0...quite a variation so early on

ASGIRC · 30/08/2023 14:09

@Rainbow890 yeah, when I went for my scan at 6+6,the doctor said it was measuring at 6+4 and I qiestioned it.
She said that, depending on the angle, she could measure 6+5 and that it was measuring fine for the time I am, and that a couple of days either way was to be expected.

Mammac85 · 30/08/2023 15:38

Oh wow you go awol for a bit and have to spend 45 minutes catching up lol

Hope everyone is doing ok and not feeling too rough.

I've had a horrendous pressure-like pain for the last week or so in my lower abdomen and back, I can't remember if I had it in other pregnancies or not so, of course, I'm now worried it's a bad sign.

Has anyone not contacted the midwife yet? I'm 7+4 and haven't sent the referral yet.

I haven't contacted a midwife yet and I'm 6+2, feel like I'll jinx it if I do that's how stressed I am 🥺😅

CluelessInLondon · 30/08/2023 15:54

I self-referred pretty much as soon as I had my first positive test, the website said it would be up to 5 working days to confirm a booking appointment so figured I would just do it straight away - as it happened I got a text confirming my appointment within about 3 hours! I'm 7+2 and my booking appointment is on the 11th. Haven't heard anything about the 12 week scan yet but I'm assuming they'll sort that at or soon after the first appointment.

I'm back to almost no symptoms today - makes it much easier commuting and sitting in the office all day but definitely freaks me out. 😕

I ended up contacting the midwife yesterday..I'm only 5+5 and felt the same about jinxing it but I also was consultant led last time so thought I should get the ball rolling! Smile

CB23CB · 30/08/2023 17:31

Hi everyone, I'm back!
Despite having zero symptoms for almost a week, I went for a scan at the EPU this morning expecting a repeat of past visits and was absolutely floored when they found a little heartbeat. I am never lost for words but god I still cannot believe it! Measuring 6+1 and got my midwife appointment on 17th.
They said I may get symptoms, I may just continue as I am. Just 6 long weeks for the next scan, I don't think I'll do any in between.
What a day!
I hope you are all doing ok.

Also side note, I said I'd done two clear blues 10 days apart that both showed 2-3, they said they are not the most reliable things and often do that.

Cinderz123 · 30/08/2023 17:44

Great news @CB23CB xx

Emilyj13 · 30/08/2023 17:58

Hi All,
has anyone else had any brown discharge?
I am 6.4 weeks todays and had a tiny bit after a wee and next wee nothing. The only reason I am asking is this happened in April and I was 6.3 weeks and I miscarried the week after. But are there any positive stories please? Could do with some good outcomes as I’m thinking the worse right now and want to try and be positive!

sugarplum33 · 30/08/2023 18:02

@CB23CB That's brilliant!

xxcxdonxx · 30/08/2023 18:20

@Emilyj13 I had fair bit of it around about the time my period was due and a few days after. It seems to have settled down now (I’m 5w4d) but I know it can cause a bit of worry.
I think the general rule is that if it’s not along side painful cramps then it is fine. Keep an eye on it and if you are worried can you get an early scan arranged?

Soo happy to hear this🥰🥰

I feel like my symptoms have become less in the last few days but my scan isn't until next Sunday 🥺 trying not to worried but your comment has made me feel better!

xxcxdonxx · 30/08/2023 18:26

@CB23CB wow that’s brilliant news! It’s so lovely seeing a little heartbeat.

@Mammac85 I have zero symptoms, not overly tired or nauseous or off any foods, nothing. I am trying not to think too much of it and will hopefully get an early scan booked in on the next week or so.
I called to register with my midwife but the message said to call when you are 6weeks. Don’t remember that being the case with my previous pregnancies but I’ll be 6 weeks at the weekend so will call back at the end of this week.

CluelessInLondon · 30/08/2023 18:33

@CB23CB Great news, must have been a relief! Fingers crossed for lots more stories like that from everyone.

Lbw1292 · 30/08/2023 19:04

@CB23CB oh I am SO happy for you!! This is just lovely news 🩷🩷

Bluesky85 · 30/08/2023 20:09

@Emilyj13 hello, yes I had some brown discharge around week 7. It appeared once then went away again. I’m now 9 weeks and as far as I’m aware nothing untoward has happened so I’m assuming all fine!

Bexxy28 · 31/08/2023 06:55

Hey everyone! How is everyone feeling this morning? Im 6+2 and feel a loss of symptoms my boobs aren't as sore this morning and had cramping throughout the night but no blood anything. Obviously worried but trying not to 🥺 has anyone else barely any symptoms or experienced decrease in sore boobs?

hja62 · 31/08/2023 07:29

@Bexxy28 Yes. 6+1 today and sore boobs are easing. Still only very occasional mild nausea. I had a MMC in May so very neurotic about my symptoms. But it sounds like a few of us are in the same boat which is reassuring

Rainbow890 · 31/08/2023 07:41

Yeah basically all my posts on here are me bleating on about my lack of symptoms and the few i have disappearing. They come and go, my sore boobs are agony one day, achey the next then gone the next then back. Keep saying that when i suddenly lost my symptoms there was a heartbeat that night then again 2 days later.

Im convinced im hated for the lack of symptoms when there are a lot of people here really suffering which is really hard too.

The perfect scenario would be to feel mild nausea for 30 mins after all the crappy foods we are all eating now, then throw up violently for 10 mins then just have sore boobs after that. We would all be perfectly reassured, lose all the badness from our starchy carbs and go on with our lives
