Hi Everyone - can I join please !!

I am 5+5 at the moment from a frozen embryo transfer. Due April 25th. Bit of a rollercoaster to get here, I had a MMC in May and a chemical last October.

I was very sick with my DD (18 months) - it was the only symptom I had (although I might have had more but just been too ill to notice!!). Symptoms are different so far - very sore boobs, extreme tiredness, metallic taste but only mild nausea that comes and goes. The nausea came and went with my MMC too so very nervous. How are everyone else’s symptoms?

I have an early scan with my IVF clinic next Thursday 7th.

hopefulmum46 · 29/08/2023 14:59

@WolfMother326 I'm 7+4 so due 12th April

@sweetdreams23 I'm on progesterone pessaries. Hard to know what are symptoms from those and what are just normal pregnancy symptoms. Everything I'm experiencing seems to be in line with other people who haven't had IVF or the pessaries so I'm certainly not having any significant side effects. Hope you get a lovely heart beat in 2 weeks

Ah thank you. But nervous about the first one haha but sure il get used to them! Do you find it's quite messy during the day? Seen people saying to wear liners etc

They're not too bad, best to lie down for about half an hour afterwards, although my clinic said 10 minutes was sufficient. They can be quite messy, you'll see a fatty deposit when you go to the loo and white material in underwear so it's best to wear liners, but there have been a few days when I haven't and it's not been too bad. You can use them vaginally or rectally, personally I find vaginally much easier but I know of other people who prefer the opposite.

You'll definitely get used to them and they'll become just a minor annoyance. How long have you been told to take them for? I'm stopping at 12 weeks as it's just post IVF but I think some people who've had previously losses might take them a bit longer.

sweetdreams23 · 29/08/2023 15:14

@hopefulmum46
Thank you that's so helpful. Yes I was thinking of doing them vaginally as I think I feel more comfortable doing that. I've been given 4 weeks worth from the hospital then I need to get more from the gp to take up to 16 weeks, which seems a long way off!

orangedress · 29/08/2023 16:54

Is everyone having symptoms? I am 6+4 and haven't felt nauseous yet and I was very nauseous with my first child, but can't remember when it started. Just worrying...

CluelessInLondon · 29/08/2023 17:22

@orangedress My symptoms have been really mild so far - nausea on and off but nothing really bad, and sore boobs. I'm 7+1 but was pretty much exactly the same last week too. Lots of people on here have been saying similar things about lack of symptoms so I'm taking it that it isn't anything to be overly worried about. I'm assuming that at some pont they will probably hit in a big way and I'll be yearning for the early days when it wasn't too bad!

I finally jumped yesterday on booking an early scan - going on Saturday so hoping to see that things are all progressing as expected.

Greenvelvetdress · 29/08/2023 17:32

@sweetdreams23 I've had them since the beginning and no side effects I don't think. I have them rectally as I find vaginally so messy and was making me bleed which was making me more anxious.

I really hope so, I've also booked a scan for next Tuesday

sugarplum33 · 29/08/2023 18:10

@orangedress I'm 6+4 too and was quite sick in my first pregnancy by this point. I do have symptoms but they're very mild in comparison. Hoping it's all going okay and I'm just going to have an easier first trimester. It's hard not to worry though.

Lbw1292 · 29/08/2023 19:00

Also here with barely any symptoms! It’s my first so I am worrying because don’t have anything to compare to.

I do think about other symptoms though, such as bigger boobs and tender, I’m really sleepy and just don’t feel like doing anything in general! Still waiting on being contacted by my maternity unit for a scan date :( if I’ve not got one by next week I am going to book a private one xx

KatieJ345 · 29/08/2023 19:37

I’m just over 5 weeks and don’t really have any symptoms apart from insomnia and some vivid dreams. Last time I don’t remember having any others until about 6/7 weeks.

hja62 · 29/08/2023 19:50

@orangedress I’m the same. 5+5 today, sore boobs, exhaustion, metallic taste but only mild nausea. With DD I had debilitating nausea & sickness although I think it started around week 7. Same as you, I’m worrying I’m not that sick yet…but I guess I should be careful what I wish for! I didn’t have any other symptoms with DD other than sickness so I guess this pregnancy might just be different. I’d take it all over that sickness though…it drove me to the brink of depression.

Bexxy28 · 29/08/2023 20:52

Im the same, 6weeks and just bloated, sore boobs and really thirsty!! I also worry that I have barely any symptoms but trying not to stress over not being unwell!

sweetdreams23 · 29/08/2023 21:24

I also don't have a huge amount of symptoms (6 weeks) just sore boobs, bloat and weeing ALL THE TIME! But no nausea or general hungover feeling like I had last time.

Just did first progesterone pessary. Not particularly pleasant but anything to help this little bubba stick!

Lbw1292 · 29/08/2023 21:26

Like one of the ladies said further up.. it can only be normal that a lot of us are not experienced that strong symptoms just yet! You guys reassure me definitely 💖

Rosieposie0301 · 29/08/2023 22:02

Hey everyone. I am currently 7+4, due 12 April. I had an early scan at what was supposed to be 6+6 and they only saw gestational and yolk sack, no baby. Went to EPAU the day after at 7w, they saw the baby but said measuring 5+6 so 8 days behind. I’m booked for another scan this Sunday when I should be 8+2.
wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience and it’s turned out positive?

chelau · 29/08/2023 22:30

You are all making me feel better as I am 5+1 and I was worried about how lots of people (or so I thought) were experiencing symptoms and I wasn’t. I get the occasional headache and wake up in the night to go for a wee but that’s about it right now. It’s not that I’m wishing for symptoms but I do keep having to take tests just to ease my anxiety!

sugarplum33 · 30/08/2023 04:42

@Rosieposie0301 I've seen posts from many ladies whose dates have been off at their scans and they've gone on to have successful pregnancies.

Dating pregnancies from your LMP is problematic if your cycles aren't a typical 28 days. I have irregular periods and track my ovulation and so although I'm 7+4 from my LMP, I know I didn't ovulate until CD21 instead of the typical CD14 and therefore I'm at least a week behind what my dates would suggest. Even if you have regular cycles and you're sure on your dates, there's still a chance that you implanted late and things are a bit behind but still progressing. Good luck for Sunday and I hope it brings positive news.

Lack of symptoms chat...

I know people have it rough with nausea/sickness but the mental torture of no or very mild symptoms is horrendous.

Im 8 weeks and had 2 scans last week, both went really well with a heartbeat and measuring on track to half a week ahead.

Buuuuuut the lack of symptoms is still killing me. I get sore boobs that come and go these days, tiredness and insomnia and some gastric things like constipation one day and diarrhoea the next. I also fill up very quickly and cant think what i want to eat but not off food and only feel a jet lag type nausea when im really needing to lie down.

This morning woke up feeling 100% normal and have to reassure myself that the last time this happened there was a healthy baby that has grown since. Draining!!!!

Those that are 5 or 6 weeks with no symptoms, they could definitely appear. Me at 8 weeks im doubtful, and feel im going to be buying a lot of scans

Hey!

Ive woke up feeling the exact same, i don't know how i feel at this point! Im 6+1 today and had some cramping throughout the night but also have a bad stomach atm so thinking it might just be that! I go on holiday on sunday and was wondering should I get a private scan before then for reassurance but also worried incase it stresses me out even more 🥺 I have a scan booked for 9th September when I'll be 7+5 just feel like I want reassurance before I go away!
My usual symptoms have been sore boobs, very Thursday and weeing a lot!

Soo happy to hear you've had positive scans hope it continues for you ❤️

Rosieposie0301 · 30/08/2023 07:32

@sugarplum33 Thank you for replying. I know my dates are exact and my cycle is 28 days so it is definitely not that my dates are out. I ovulated day 15, implanted 7 days later (felt it just like i did with my first child) and had a positive test 9dpo.
This is why i am more worried that i am 8 days behind. I have barely any symptoms at all - sore boobs that have faded slightly the last number of days so that is also playing on my mind. So nervous for this scan on Sunday..!!

Very similar to my scan yesterday at EPU. Thought I was around 6wk and 3 days and they could just see gestational sac and yolk sac. I did ask what I was measuring and she just said I'm probably a little bit earlier and lots can change in short amount of time. She didn't want to give specifics of what I was measuring as said it can easily be 5 days off either way at this point. Got a rescan in 2 weeks and hopefully baby will have caught up. I'm not feeling too worried (maybe I should be!) but as the last 2 pregnancies havnt even got to this point I'm celebrating the little wins!

Rosieposie0301 · 30/08/2023 08:41

@sweetdreams23 I know I have seen all kinds of stories where they say at this early stage it is very normal to measure behind and then by your 12 week dating scan everything will have caught up - but i just worry it wont have! I am trying to keep positive for sunday but i just dont really 'feel' pregnant. I dont know if that is now just in my head with everything that has gone on though.
Fingers crossed for the both of us that our next scans are better news

I remember reading forums in my 2ww and women would actually say they had nuseau/peeing more frequently etc, all this would be way before or shortly after implantation. It made me lose my mind thinking other women are getting symptoms and im not. In reality i think until atleast your missed period its all in your head really and yiu shouldnt believe everything you read. Im literally 6 weeks and the only symptom i have is tiredness and a few cramps lol xxx
