@Kalodin sorry I misread as your MIL. That’s hard. Your plan sounds sensible though.

Bababear987 · 25/07/2023 16:42

Hey everyone ive just found this thread I'm 16weeks and finding myself getting a bit anxious cause I'm feeling better and dont really feel pregnant apart from the exhaustion. I dont have a bump although I was a size 16 and carried my weight around that area anyways.

Had my midwife appt today and all seemed grand but just wish you got a scan with it.... i will book a private gender scan soon though.

Hope you're all keeping well x

Luhou · 25/07/2023 17:21

Luhou · 25/07/2023 15:59

@Kalodin she sounds vile! Hope you're not feeling to upset about it all.

@LydiaWalker93 I agree. I would wait as long as possible. I was struggling with my uniform so I had to say something. But can't help but feel like I'm already being made redundant or information being passed over me, as I'm not going to be here.

Sorry wrong tag! @ThomasinaLivesHere

Kalodin · 25/07/2023 17:23

Probably because that behaviour is typically associated with a MIL @Mummyme87

Hey @Bababear987 , yeah there's often that weird 2nd trimester limbo stage! Once bump is truly on display, I always find it feels more real

Hummusanddipdip · 25/07/2023 17:25

Oh @Kalodin I'm sorry that was her reaction. I know the mum telling people thing very well, with ds I hadn't even had my 12 week scan and everyone knew, she even told my dad before I did...
This time she waited until I started sharing, but I ended up having an awkward conversation with her cousin yesterday who asked me "is everyone happy about it?" I assume as I haven't shared anything on social media, and don't intend to to be honest.

Spent today sorting ds room, was planning to do it yesterday, but opened the door and couldn't face it... it took me 2 hours, why do 4 year old have so much stuff and make so much mess 🤦‍♀️ I was really pleased with myself, sorted all his books out and made a proper little reading corner for him, mistake was blowing up his inflatable chair, remember those bubble furniture that was all the rage in the late 90s early 00s? He has a child's one of those, I got so light headed doing it 🤣

FirstT1meMum · 25/07/2023 17:26

@Bababear987 welcome to the club! There's quite a few of us feeling the same way, it's such an awkward time when there's so few symptoms- some days I really don't believe there's a baby in there!!! If you need anything though we're all here for you!

Kalodin · 25/07/2023 17:32

I'd be fuming if mum tells Dad before me, I'm planning on telling Dad, step mum and that side of family as I had planned at our yearly bank holiday weekend family camping trip @Hummusanddipdip . Super odd thing for the cousin to say too, makes you wonder what's been said! But then people do also just say odd things anyway to pregnant women or those whose just given birth! Like the "when you having another one" when baby has just been born!

Omg I want one of those chairs! I always wanted one and thought my friends who had them were so cool 😂 I mayyyyy have to get DSs them now 😂 love that you set a reading corner up.

LittleAlien24 · 25/07/2023 18:41

@LydiaWalker93 yup sneezing all the time, so annoying 😁
@Kalodin thank you. It has been quite stressing so far.
I kinda get you with the problem with your mother. I had problems with my mother too. She had her good times but also times she was hurtful and not nice to me or kids. it got to point that me or kids didn't want to go home (she lived with us at that time). Unfortunately for us the only option was to cut all contact.
@Hummusanddipdip my oh close relative told him, oh at your age going back to all those nappies and sleepless nights you're crazy. OH said that don't mind she was joking but i don't think it was nice.

sashastuck · 25/07/2023 18:43

@Kalodin I’m so sorry about her reaction - I like what you said about putting boundaries in place. It must be so hard especially when you get on so well at other times! Do what’s best for you always 🩷

Great to hear about your cervix @LittleAlien24 hopefully a worry off your shoulders!

I’ve had my scan…. We’re having a little BOY! 💙 I was convinced so I’m glad that my intuition was correct! Absolutely buzzing x

LittleAlien24 · 25/07/2023 18:44

@sashastuck congratulations

Bims2019 · 25/07/2023 18:52

Ahh congratulations @sashastuck! Lovely news

Hummusanddipdip · 25/07/2023 18:53

Ahhh congratulations @sashastuck! I love it when you have a feeling and are proved right!
And good news @LittleAlien24 but also ouch for the comment to your oh, I'm sure people don't always think before they open their mouths!!

Do it @Kalodin however I fully recommend buying a foot pump, blowing up by mouth is a total pita!! I tried dh football pump, but that just hurt my arms 😫 note to self, might need to consider going back to the gym when baby is here. I stopped going last summer when we sold our house and just haven't got round to signing up to a new one... dh has, bit hasn't actually been in over a month...

Does anyone else have any strong feelings about what they're having? With ds I was sure throughout the pregnancy he was a boy, and he proved me right, but this time, I don't even feel pregnant for the most part, so have no inkling at all!

LittleAlien24 · 25/07/2023 19:02

@Hummusanddipdip nope no feelings about the gender 😁 i just have a feeling that this baby is mini version of my 16 year old lol

Kalodin · 25/07/2023 19:07

Congratulations @sashastuck 💙 so exciting!!!

That is absolutely shit you had to go through that with your mum @Hummusanddipdip

I felt like I was carrying boys with my previous 3 and I feel like I'm carrying a girl now. Which was why I was shocked at the sneak peek blood result saying boy. But then Nub is showing its girly.

Buttonmoon86 · 25/07/2023 19:34

I haven’t posted for a while so a little update, I had my 16 week appointment and a private scan on Wednesday - both went well 😊 and expecting a little girl.

congrats @sashastuck 💙

@Mummyme87 my work is the same, I’ve spoken to a few people who seem a bit shocked I’m not immediately planning to take 12 months off

Kalodin · 25/07/2023 20:21

Congratulations to you too @Buttonmoon86 ❤️

FirstT1meMum · 25/07/2023 20:22

Massive congratulations @sashastuck and @Buttonmoon86 💙💙

Our scan also went amazing! Was absolutely incredible seeing the little one again and they let us listen to the heartbeat which was so emotional! Little one is doing amazing and us being the newbie parents we are have bought the heartbeat bear too! We are over the moon we're expecting a little girl 🩷🩷🩷

And to you too @FirstT1meMum

So wonderful seeing all the scan updates 😍

Mummyme87 · 25/07/2023 20:37

Congratulations @sashastuck on your boy and @Buttonmoon86 & @FirstT1meMum on your girls.

with my first I was convinced from 6weeks he was a boy and predicted his date of birth, all right. 2nd I had no intuition at all and was another boy. I have girl vibes this time, and the nub has a girl look to it but who knows. It will be one or the other!!!

suz2285 · 25/07/2023 20:38

Congrats @sashastuck @Buttonmoon86 and @FirstT1meMum it's so exciting!!

We're having ours on Sunday but I want to wait a few weeks till we're with my parents to find out together (open the secret envelope with gender!) husband wants to open it right away 😂 so he may know weeks before me! Eeee

Hummusanddipdip · 25/07/2023 20:39

Aww congratulations @Buttonmoon86 and @FirstT1meMum loving the influx of scan pics and the team girl arrangement with the heartbeat is tooo cute!!!!!

Dh and I are waiting for our 20 week scan, so have to wait until 23rd August... seems forever away (4 weeks, so not AGES) can't wait to find out if ds is right with all his "her"

LittleAlien24 · 25/07/2023 20:49

Forgot to ad my scan pictures before. Well We didn't get good pictures anyway today because baby just would not co operate lol
My teenager said at some point at scan that the baby looks like voldemort 😂 (that's the top picture), oh and at one point when we seen the spine she said it looks like reptile 🤦
Does anyone have any guesses using scull theory?

LittleAlien24 · 25/07/2023 20:51

Congrats @Buttonmoon86 and @FirstT1meMum

PartRadish · 25/07/2023 20:53

Congratulations @sashastuck @Buttonmoon86 and @FirstT1meMum 😍

I was convinced each time that my first 3 were girls. They're all boys. Was absolutely certain this one was a boy, it's apparently a girl 😂 So my intuition for this at least is clearly terrible.

We're have a scan to confirm the sex on Saturday morning. We had NIPT but it's not 100% so I need the confirmation. It's the day before my birthday too so I'm calling it a present to myself. It's at 9:20 so also particularly excited about getting a double sausage mcmuffin afterwards 🤣

sashastuck · 25/07/2023 21:01

Congratulations on your baby girls @Buttonmoon86 and @FirstT1meMum 🩷🩷🩷

@LittleAlien24 the pictures are lovely! I’ll guess girl!
