I've been so tearful lately, think we all spoke about this recently didn't we, mine being set off about birth choices. Like I said before, I really want a VBA2C and been doing lots of research into it. Consultant is on board as long as baby doesn't need to be delivered quickly. But DH doesn't seem supportive, he doesn't seem to get how much of an emotional wreck I am about all of this. Birth was actually why I didn't want any more children but here we are. I thought I could handle it but I can't.

MrsJ6921 · 15/08/2023 16:51

My scan was perfect with no anomalies identified! And she’s definitely a little girl. I also got asked to book my whooping cough jab at my GP so that’s all been sorted now too.

buckingmad · 15/08/2023 16:53

@Kalodin what are your DH's reservations? I'm desperate for a VBAC this time around even though looking back my EMCS was fine.

Hummusanddipdip · 15/08/2023 17:38

Welcome @Whataretheodds and she sounds a bit unhelpful! Hopefully your escalation gets you the answers and cover you need.

Lovely news @MrsJ6921

Oh @Kalodin has your dh been involved in any meetings with your consultant? Would he be able to have a chat and see if any of his worries/reservations can be eliminated with some medical information and guidance?

Kalodin · 15/08/2023 17:56

He hasn't had the chance to yet because of work or childcare commitments. However, he will be coming to 20 week scan and the consultant appointment after that. But that's a month away.

He's just nervous because he doesn't want me or baby to be in danger

LittleAlien24 · 15/08/2023 18:09

@Kalodin i would absolutely love to try VBA2C. Your lucky you've support from your consultant. My OB said straight out no. I asked could i at least go to labor and then do csection but nope she won't 😕 but to be honest then knowing my luck in medical field then i would be the low percentage to who it would happen lol
@MrsJ6921 that's good news

I would love to get something off my chest but can't because it's a public forum 😩 think only pregnant women would kinda understand me.

Kalodin · 15/08/2023 20:07

She didn't at first @LittleAlien24 , first appointment I didn't even get to ask, it was a straight out "let's schedule your repeat csection and talk about how you'd like that to be, I can't support a vba2c" I burst out crying and my MW spoke up on my behalf as she already knew my wishes etc. Next appointment Consultant had changed her tune a little, we filled out a form and I've had to agree that I can attempt a VBAC but only under the right circumstances (tbh I think the Consultant doesn't think they'll align). My friend had a successful VBA2C last year at same hospital, the MWs were amazing but throughout labour she had various random DRs she had never met come on to say she was going to kill herself and her baby and she should agree to a CS.

Is there any way @LittleAlien24 You could share part of the issue to offload and maybe seek some help here?

lilluce95 · 15/08/2023 22:15

@LittleAlien24 we're all pregnant here! 🥰 could you post it on the fb page?x

LydiaWalker93 · 15/08/2023 22:16

Just had my 20 week scan today and my placenta was quite low down so difficult to get measurements resulting in me having to go for a walk, drink more and do star jumps 😂 standard Tuesday!
was able to get the measurements eventually! weighing 12 ounces atm and i'm having a little girl 🥰🩷🎀

FirstT1meMum · 15/08/2023 22:30

@LydiaWalker93 how gorgeous! Congratulations 🥰

@LittleAlien24 we're all here if you need a safe space to offload or anything, theres no judgement here and I'm sure someone will have some similar experience❤️

Mummyme87 · 16/08/2023 08:36

@LydiaWalker93 congratulations on your little girl and scan being well

ive had a rough night again. Developed a headache at work again but not bad, fairly mild. Was well hydrated. Went to bed with a mild headache, worsened during the night, up at 5am vomiting which I’m sure was blood, was difficult to see on the dark. Have dozed on and off and headache is horrendous. I’m finding them so debilitating. Hopefully can eat something to allow some paracetamol to stay down.

Dannic2018 · 16/08/2023 08:55

@Mummyme87 hope you’re feeling better.
Ive never had diabetes so not sure. I am getting tested again this time as my bmi is raised but the consultant and from what I’ve concluded is because of both boys being back to back, on the larger than average size? Consultant said it’s just the way my pelvis is but I never had it with my daughter. He wants to check that baby isn’t too big and position I think but so far he’s quite happy for me to have a normal delivery. But now I have a low lying placenta we shall see at 32 weeks

Hummusanddipdip · 16/08/2023 08:57

Congrats @LydiaWalker93 I bet it was such a nice feeling seeing her bouncing around in there!!! And shows you've a stubborn one, making you do that.

Oh @Mummyme87 that sounds horrible!!! If it was blood that you bought up is it a case of you hadn't eaten because of the headache, so your stomach had nothing to give? Hopefully you can keep something down this morning. I find plain toast and crackers are good, also oddly lemonade seems to help settle my stomach.

@LittleAlien24 like others have said, we're here and one of us may be having the same experience/feelings. Try us

Mummyme87 · 16/08/2023 09:29

@Hummusanddipdip my throat is super sore so, the acid is probably burning everything which is why there was probably blood. I usually vomit before I’ve eaten, so horrible. I’ve eaten breakfast now so hoping I can get some painkillers in to my system.

I’m definitely starting to feel noticeable baby movements now. Often what feels like them rolling around 🥰

LittleAlien24 · 16/08/2023 09:47

@Kalodin i hope you get your VBAC. Think im too afraid to try but would be even happy if I'd get the csection on due date (13 January because 13 is significant for us). And I've rare shaped uterus that most likely won't let me have normal birth.
You know when doctors say oh it's a really rare thing it won't happen to you you, well that's wrong it will happen to me. I had wisdom tooth pulled out and i got a dry socket that dentist was really surprised but this made him change his mind about pulling my other wisdom tooth that was next to a nerve because he was afraid I'd be the rare occasion that the nerve will get damaged 😂 have quite few stories like that lol
@LydiaWalker93 congrats
@Mummyme87 hope you feeling better today
Thanks everyone but unfortunately i Can't share it here under my username because anyone can read this forum and my username is the nickname my daughter calls the baby that everyone knows

Kalodin · 16/08/2023 10:04

You have to consider your mental health and mindset for sure @LittleAlien24 So if you'll have all that on your mind whilst in labour it's not setting yourself up well, so yeah I can definitely understand the csection choice there. Hopefully you get the 13th! Have they indicated when they'll book in for you? Here they say in week 39, with detailed date closer to the time.

Mummyme87 · 16/08/2023 10:06

Glad your consultant has had a turn around on VBA2C. Booking the elective CS is just easy for them in this scenario, it may have come as a shock to her that you wanted the VBAC. Also hope your husband comes round to the idea. Nothing comes risk free, even the ELCS .

my DH pretty much goes along with what I say when it comes to this. He can’t imagine me having a baby with no complications, he just assumes he will need wellies for the blood bath, ear plugs for the screaming 😬

Kalodin · 16/08/2023 10:43

Thank you @Mummyme87 That's my view, there's so any risks to a 3rd csection too. Something bad could happen just as easily in either scenario.

buckingmad · 16/08/2023 12:14

Anyone with older children give me some pearls of wisdom for my first time potty training? DD is 2 and I'm thinking it's now or next summer as I don't fancy potty training with a newborn in the middle of winter. She's at nursery 2 days a week and everyone else in her room is potty trained so I think that will really help as she loves to copy.

Have ordered a peppa pig potty and will get her some peppa pig pants, she'll do anything peppa says! Also going to get a sticker chart because she is obsessed with stickers.

Mummyme87 · 16/08/2023 12:17

@buckingmad i went cold turkey both times, nappies off, potty in the room wherever you are and constantly encourage to wee on it. We read books about potties and pants and that was about it. Took a carry potty everywhere with us aswell

buckingmad · 16/08/2023 12:23

@Mummyme87 that's what I was thinking I would do. Going to start next Friday on my day off and be on potty watch all day and the weekend before nursery on Monday. Luckily she's like clockwork with her daily poo so I'm hoping if I catch that, loads of praise, a biscuit and a sticker and she'll get the idea!

Mummyme87 · 16/08/2023 12:25

Yes lots of praise and treats@buckingmad poo we took a bit longer to manage but it wasn’t too much longer

TunnocksTCake · 16/08/2023 12:29

Good luck @buckingmad I found potty training very challenging as my dd is stubborn and would not go if we told her to, or on a schedule, it had to be her idea to go!
we tried twice and the second time she just woke up one day and said she wanted to take her nappy off forever and then was perfect from then on. Think it's completely different depending on your child so definitely getting stickers if she loves them will help! A lot of people I know had success with the oh crap book method, basically 3 / 4 days at home with bare bum and you put them on potty when you see signs/ at regular intervals. Then work up to wearing trousers with no pants then add pants in after a few weeks (as they feel like nappies so can be confusing at first!) nursery will want them in pants though.
I also wouldn't say doing it in winter is that awful if you do end up delaying, we ended up doing so and while it may be easier in summer I wouldn't rush it just to fit in with the weather, just put blankets all over the floor/ furniture for a few days!

LittleAlien24 · 16/08/2023 12:37

@Kalodin OB said at 39 weeks but closer to time i will try to convince her 😁
@buckingmad i started to introduce them to potty when they were about 6 months old. Around age 1 i just took the nappy off, put underwear on and like @Mummyme87 took potty to every room we were and when out driving then potty with us 😁

buckingmad · 16/08/2023 12:42

Thanks everyone! Definitely just going to whip the nappy off and be on high alert 😂 mum had 4 children so I feel like she’s a bit of a veteran and she said she thought DD would be pretty easy. It would be nice to have this ticked off before baby gets here.
