@PartRadish i had it with my first and found out at my next midwife appointment. I’ve moved and this trust don’t test so I’ll just get jabbed 🙄

PartRadish · 11/08/2023 18:55

Thank you both @Mushroo and @buckingmad I thought next appointment would probably be the case. It's fairly new in our trust, I was just jabbed with the last three. Suspect I'll still need jabbing this time too as they're all A+

Kalodin · 11/08/2023 19:02

Have a lovely evening celebrating @Mummyme87

My anomaly scan isn't until mid September! Glad I'm seeing baby weekly though so can have peace of mind all is going well.

Onedayatatime24 · 11/08/2023 19:45

My anomaly scan is the 29th, cannot wait!!

I've felt little pulses but not 100% sure they're baby. I only notice them when I'm lying in bed at night. Looking forward to feeling something properly. I'm 17+5, my trust said I probably wouldn't feel anything for sure until 20 weeks though, which is different to what I've read online!

Hummusanddipdip · 11/08/2023 21:56

All I've done today is cry 🤦‍♀️ please tell me I'm not alone???

Literally wrote that message this morning about feeling guilty about ds and school in tears. Thank you for your kind reply btw @lilluce95

Cried because my mum told my son to use his manners and I snapped at her telling her to let me parent my child I don't need her to step in... and then felt horrible because she was just doing something she's always done automatically 🤦‍♀️

I cried at my mum about being scared that breast feeding is going to go wrong again after she asked if I'd ordered the pump I'd shown her I wanted.

I cried at dh when he go home from work because he didn't fancy burgers and I did.

Cried at the dog because he wouldn't take his medication for me.

Cried talking about our last dog who died 10 years ago.

And now I'm crying watching Mamma Mia 2...

I hate hormones 😑

Kalodin · 12/08/2023 09:34

I hope you're having a less tearful day today so far @Hummusanddipdip Hormones are awful for messing with emotions aren't they!

It could be movement @Onedayatatime24 I'm sure I've always felt my babies at around 15 weeks onwards and those first movements I tend to only notice when I'm still

Our annual family BBQ at my Uncles today, so glad the weather has finally turned into summer again here for it.

Bims2019 · 12/08/2023 10:12

@Hummusanddipdip you're not alone, we watched Guardians of the Galaxy 3 last night and I proper sobbed through half of it. Think DH was quite shocked as I'm not usually a crier 😂

I also cried the other day because DH had been on a walk without me and I really wanted a walk...

All these hormones are certainly a new experience for me, it's a rollercoaster so think all we can do is be kind to ourselves!

Mummyme87 · 12/08/2023 10:25

Ah the hormones @Hummusanddipdip I cried at my dads last week because I had tried to organise meeting up for the day with my cousins from Italy whilst we were up north (haven’t met their kids or seen my cousins for about 6/7yrs) and my aunties were just being really obstructive via text and I just lost all energy and gave up. My dad asked me about when we were seeing them and I cried. ALOT! I’m an emotional person anyway but yeah, pregnancy hormones are mad.

PartRadish · 12/08/2023 10:54

I walked around Tesco crying last week because I couldn't hold it back! Trying not to was just slowing me down and it wasn't working anyway so I just got on with it! I mentioned it to my SIL the next day, who used to work in Tesco, and she breezily said 'oh that happened all the time' so thats reassuring I guess 😆

Dannic2018 · 12/08/2023 10:55

Bless you all. My hormones range from crying and being sensitive to feeling rage and no patience 🤣🤣
at least it’s like a mystery for everyone, what mood will Nic be in today 🤣🤣

Hummusanddipdip · 12/08/2023 11:00

Thanks guys I'm feeling much better today. Totally different mood to yesterday. Its reassuring that we all seem to go through it at some point, tesco seems a logical place for a cry session 🤷‍♀️ the prices are stress 🤣

I get that @Dannic2018 it's like a Russian roulette for everyone 🤣

Kalodin · 12/08/2023 11:02

I'm with you on the rage @Dannic2018 , I always find my sensory sensitivities are much more heightened during pregnancy and so rage comes more often as I'm more easily overwhelmed

Lilothblos · 12/08/2023 11:14

Agh I’ve got covid 😩has anyone had it in pregnancy? All of the nhs advice on it seems to be quite out of date, it advises contacting your midwife but that seems kind of unnecessary unless I’m really struggling! Just feels like a bad cold at the moment but feel quite wiped out 😴

RG9895 · 12/08/2023 11:56

@Lilothblos I had covid when I was 14 weeks and was rough in bed for about 4 days! I was so scared, I didn't contact my midwife as I had an appointment not long afterwards and they listened to babies heartbeat that reassured me she was ok ☺️ I think there is a potential you might need fragmin injections but I know each trust is different and have different score cards, I don't need it but if you haven't got a midwife appointment in a little while then I would call them just to find that out. My sister and best friend had covid during pregnancy and they was both ok 🙏🏼 what reassured me is it gives baby a little bit of immunity apparently! I hope you feel better soon x

Kalodin · 12/08/2023 12:08

I think its worth contacting them @Lilothblos Just to seek their advice and if any guidance has recently changed. I hope you get well soon

flowerpot258 · 12/08/2023 12:18

@Lilothblos I had covid with my last pregnancy. I did contact my midwife just to ask for advice and she said just to rest and it'll pass. If you have a high risk pregnancy they might give you injections (I think it was blood thinning injections) but I'm not sure if that's still the case. That was the advice I was given last year

Mummyme87 · 12/08/2023 13:15

There isn’t really any advice for Covid for pregnant women at the moment. If we get any calls from women or see them in triage we just recommend paracetamol as required, hydration and rest. A&E if struggling with breathing or any other major concerns.

hope you feel better soon @Lilothblos

sashastuck · 12/08/2023 13:35

@Lilothblos sorry to hear you’ve got covid 😭 hopefully you’ll be absolutely fine. I’ve got a cough that’s come out of nowhere and wondering if it could be… loads of fluids will help 🤞🏼

Mushroo · 12/08/2023 13:50

On the hormones I just cried on the tube because I read a thread about a cat being PTS next week and his last meal being as many Dreamies as he wanted. Tearing up over my own cat (who is absolutely fine).

im not normally a crier at all!

Luhou · 12/08/2023 14:12

I was hysterical over the end if the paddington bear 2 film last week. Also just saw red with my husband for "stealing my nap".

What vitamins are people taking? Brand wise? I struggled with pregnacare and an upset stomach. Would be the last thing I'd take at night and kept waking up during the night with a terrible upset stomach. I've stopped taking it for a week and had no issues.

WitcheryDivine · 12/08/2023 15:13

Can anyone give me advice on maternity leggings, tights and jeans? Any decent brands? Currently without options when it’s cold!

Redpanda21 · 12/08/2023 15:31

@Luhou curious to how one steals a nap?!

buckingmad · 12/08/2023 15:52

@WitcheryDivine love leggings for leggings, asos topshop maternity jeans, and I also need recommendations for tights as didn’t get any last time!

Didn’t get on with H&M jeans, was forever pulling them up.

buckingmad · 12/08/2023 15:53

@luhou I’ve never take a specific pregnancy multivitamin, just folic acid, vitamin d and iron separately

Luhou · 12/08/2023 16:13

Redpanda21 · 12/08/2023 15:31

@Luhou curious to how one steals a nap?!

@Redpanda21 I was laying on the sofa and my DD nearly 3 was watching TV. DH was sat on the other sofa. I could feel my eyes going, only to look across the room and see DH getting himself comfy as if he was settling down for a nap.

Obviously one of us needed to stay awake to look after DD, so I was fuming at the thought he was stealing my nap time!
