@EL27 yes!! I get full soooo much quicker but also feel hungrier so end up ordering/cooking loads and then only eating half of it 🤦‍♀️

Booklover88 · 09/08/2023 21:06

Definitely agree about smaller, more frequent meals. I snack more but eat less during main meals. Lots of doggy bags brought home from meals out!

Ttcdcno1 · 09/08/2023 21:06

How do you feel about people touching your bumps?

OP posts:
Mushroo · 09/08/2023 21:13

@Ttcdcno1 I don’t mind if it’s someone I know and they ask (although I think a lot of it is still just pudge!).

A big no to strangers though.

When I went for my first scan, I went to the main ultrasound area of the hospital, rather than the maternity as it wasn’t really clear, and in giving me directions the receptionist touched my bump and said ‘for any baby related appointments, you’re always at maternity’.

It was so intrusive, especially as I didn’t even have a bump at that point!

Ttcdcno1 · 09/08/2023 21:19

I don’t know if I’m being a bit over sensitive. So My mum and sisters came over for lunch today. Me and DH were over at their house Sunday and they rubbed my bump and it was fine because they asked and I let them. But I was in the kitchen getting stuff ready today and my mum comes up behind quietly, doesn’t say a word and just starts touching my belly from behind me. Like I don’t mind when you ask but don’t sneak up on me and surprise me. That felt weird

@Ttcdcno1 personally I don’t mind at all but it really is personal preference. People should ask before they do it though!

I’m quite conscious of how big my bump is already, I feel massive!

Mushroo · 09/08/2023 21:29

@Ttcdcno1 i would hate that too. I’m not a touchy feely person at all.

lucya66 · 09/08/2023 22:13

Yes to all the food cravings. Loving it after severe food aversion and sickness in first trimester.

FirstT1meMum · 09/08/2023 22:16

@EL27 definitely! Been this way since really early on. Had a huge lack of appetite which has got better but struggling to finish a full meal! Totally unlike me

LittleAlien24 · 10/08/2023 07:19

Im always hungry 😁 but can't eat much in one go. Me who was able to eat a lot before. Eating only savory, sweets are no maybe just a bite and that's it.
Luckily I've no people here who'd touch my belly because i definitely wouldn't like it. Well it is ok for my daughters and OH to touch it but not others.

Noodle89 · 10/08/2023 11:10

Has anyone else become really clumsy? I keep going to pick things up and dropping them constantly! It's getting annoying now, hope it doesn't continue as I will struggle to bend and pick things back up by the end of it 🤣

WitcheryDivine · 10/08/2023 12:29

lilluce95 · 08/08/2023 22:38

Love hearing all this good news!

I haven't even thought about what to buy let alone buy anything yet, it's all so overwhelming ☹️ I feel the anxiety too about baby!

I saw someone ask about a pelvic floor app, I use squeeze time 😊

Thanks for the recommendation.

Had a scary time with tummy bug this week and had to go and get the once over at the hospital, but all seems fine for now.

Can't believe we're approaching the halfway point.

Inmydreams88 · 10/08/2023 16:46

I had my anomaly scan today. All fine, except they couldn't get baby in a position to see the heart so I have to go back next week. Which is little bit disappointing but they reassured us it was only because of the baby's position. We did find out we are having a boy 💙

WitcheryDivine · 10/08/2023 16:56

Congratulations @Inmydreams88 !!!

I'm sure everything will be fine next week. Is this your first one?

Inmydreams88 · 10/08/2023 17:10

@WitcheryDivine Thank you, yes it's my first!

sashastuck · 10/08/2023 17:12

@Inmydreams88 congratulations! 💙💙

@WitcheryDivine hope you’re feeling much better.

DearSam48 · 10/08/2023 18:05

Hey Mummies, quick question. Has anyone noticed there bump forming into a slight cone shape when sitting up or tensing tummy muscles? Is this normal as it's freaking me out. First time mum here!

LittleAlien24 · 10/08/2023 18:16

@Inmydreams88 congratulations. I know it's a bit disappointing to go back next week but good thing is you can see your baby again 😊

buckingmad · 10/08/2023 18:33

@DearSam48 sounds like ab separation. You want to try and avoid using your ab muscles like that, so like getting out of bed get on to your side and use your arms to push you up. Pilates is good too for strengthening your core so you don’t overly rely on your abs.

buckingmad · 10/08/2023 18:34

Anyone had conjunctivitis whilst pregnant before? Just wondering if I can use usual eye drops or not. Will speak to the pharmacist tomorrow either way. Always something!

DearSam48 · 10/08/2023 19:08

@buckingmad I thought it might be that. I'll start changing the way I move going forward. I will look into Pilates. Thank you :)

WitcheryDivine · 10/08/2023 19:32

Thanks @sashastuck xx

Mummyme87 · 11/08/2023 07:23

@buckingmad yes chloramphenicol can be used in pregnancy.

I’ve started waking up feeling sick every morning with a mild headache. Feel like I’m going backwards with symptoms 😖

buckingmad · 11/08/2023 07:34

@Mummyme87 perfect thank you! Sorry to hear your symptoms have got worse again

lilluce95 · 11/08/2023 07:43

I've started waking up feeling so achey pretty much every morning! Not sure if it's just me or the pregnancy 😂 has anyone else had this?

Also can't believe people are having their anomaly scans!! How quick has time gone 😧
