Yeah definitely find keeping hydrated important @Lilothblos , I suppose maybe it's because I've had such a busy weekend. Pretty much slept half of it too though!

And yes to people asking if it was planned. I've been asked that with all my pregnancies. It is inappropriate but I suppose isn't something like half of all pregnancies unplanned and people are just being curious? Least that's how I'm taking it. It seems like the majority of pregnancies in my office are unplanned (FYI, people offering this up to me rather than me asking)

lilluce95 · 07/08/2023 07:43

@Kalodin I was suffering with a bout of headaches last week and nothing seemed to help except sleep sadly! But definitely stay hydrated and make sure you eat x

lilluce95 · 07/08/2023 07:44

@Lilothblos yeah lots of people have asked me if it's planned too! I'm not married to my partner but we have been together a while and I'm in my late 20s 😂

buckingmad · 07/08/2023 07:49

@Kalodin i had this last week and nothing really helped but sleeping annoyingly. Touch wood I haven’t had one for a few days but back at work today so that could change!

really struggled this morning, so tired! Napped the afternoon away yesterday too.

Matildahoney · 07/08/2023 08:08

Headaches here too, dizziness & nausea! I'm exhausted today, cannot physically get out of bed, so I'll be working from it today among naps! It's so draining!

Lilothblos · 07/08/2023 08:12

@lilluce95 such a strange question isn’t it! Can’t imagine ever asking someone that regardless of the circumstances tbh!

Noodle89 · 07/08/2023 08:41

Hey, been a while since I was last on here, only found the new thread last week. So many updates on babies! Congrats to all those who have found out so far what they are having. I'm 18 weeks+1 now today and I surprised my husband with a gender scan yesterday as he isn't able to come to my 20 weeks scan in a few weeks time. There were a lot of tears from both of us in that room 🥹 I didn't see half of the scan through crying 😄 but after having 3 boys we are finally having our little girl 🩷🥰 feels so weird to say that! I was convinced it was another boy as we already had 3! But he checked 3 times and said I'm definitely having a daughter.. 💞

Mummyme87 · 07/08/2023 09:48

@Noodle89 congratulations on your girl!!

also get headaches. Not too often but when I get them they are horrific. Had one yesterday which was probably because I sat in a velodrome most of the day which is 28-30degrees, and tired. Went to bed with a headache and woke up a million times in the night with a crushing headache. I was about to get up and go out into Glasgow last night to find some paracetamol. Still there now but I’ve taken paracetamol now, couldn’t enjoy my premier inn breakfast though as made me feel sick 😖

Ttcdcno1 · 07/08/2023 10:06

Congratulations @Noodle89 🩷

has anyone used the owlet socks before? Or planning to? Are they worth the money?

buckingmad · 07/08/2023 10:14

@Ttcdcno1 I didn't with my first but I'm contemplating it for my second. I'm torn. I was the classic watching my child to check they were breathing for basically the first 12 months of her life. I used to wake in such a panic and check especially when she started dropping night feeds. So I think I'd probably end up obsessively checking the app instead.

Ttcdcno1 · 07/08/2023 10:24

@buckingmad yeah I saw them and thought oh that’s a great idea and then I saw the price 😅I’m a first time mum so don’t know what I’ll be like but can’t see me being chill 😂I might keep an eye on Vinted and marketplace

Mushroo · 07/08/2023 10:44

@Ttcdcno1 Im a first time mum too and debating getting the Owlet as well.

It looks really good but also could cause worry so I’m not sure!

I’ve delegated ‘baby technology’ to DH to have a look into so I might just let him make the decision for us.

Vikki7 · 07/08/2023 10:54

Just my experience but in my opinion DONT get the owlet! My son stopped breathing at 4 months, (alerted by his Snuza device) then we bought the Owlet coz we were petrified and there was no cause found for him to stop breathing after investigations at the hospital.

A day after we received it, according to the Owlet his resp rate and heart rate was well below what it needed to be, we called paramedics where it was proven that what the Owlet was showing was wildly inaccurate and his resp rate was perfect as was his heart rate

I took ages to be able to send back as we had to get agreement from the company to send back to them.

It was just a panic for nothing and a waste of time and money. I have already bought a Snuza second hand but brand new off of fb marketplace for £30

TunnocksTCake · 07/08/2023 10:55

@Ttcdcno1 I didnt bother with the owlet for my first but a friend of mine did and she found it made her anxiety worse as it tracks things you wouldnt usually be aware of like blood oxygen etc so its another thing to obsess over, albeit on your phone screen rather than looming over the cot to check breathing.

Ive had an awful headache over the weekend along with sinus & ear pain so think im congested which is a pain! Managed to get my mum to take DD so I could have a good sleep Saturday but still woke up multiple times and wide awake by 6am 🙄

Im dying to feel movements too, 18 weeks now and I think Ive felt the odd one or two but not 100% 2 more weeks til 20 week scan.

Congrats @Noodle89 on your girl! How exciting!!

PartRadish · 07/08/2023 11:23

Congratulations @Noodle89 💗 We're having a girl after 3 boys too, found out via nipt then confirmed with scan later and I still don't believe it 🤣

We looked into the Owlet after my youngest came off home oxygen and his hospital sats monitor went back, but the alarm parameters are preset and can't be changed and in my opinion they're set far too low to be useful.

They don't alarm until their oxygen saturation has dropped below 80 for over a certain amount of time. In our trust most healthy babies would be admitted and put on supplementary oxygen if consistently below 94. My son is 'allowed' to sit at 91 or above because he has chronic lung disease. If I'd paid for an owlet and my baby was sat at say 85 overnight and I'd want an alarm to tell me! At below 80 they're going to be really struggling. I've read lots of similar stories to @Vikki7 about inaccurate readings too.

Ttcdcno1 · 07/08/2023 12:04

Thanks ladies, great that I can ask you all these things! Sounds like the owlet isn’t worth the stress so not going to bother!

@Noodle89 aww congrats on your little girl 💕

@Lilothblos the only person that has asked me is my DAD (cringe!) but I know he had well intent. I mentioned it was planned to someone at work and then he volunteered up how his baby wasn’t planned. It’s all a bit weird to me. Hope nobody else asks you, especially given how long you’ve been together and married!

Mushroo · 07/08/2023 15:06

I got my first stretch marks today 😩😭 I was hoping I’d get a bit longer.

Slathered on the moisturiser but I don’t think it does much! Hoping they’re not too itchy / painful by the end.

TunnocksTCake · 07/08/2023 15:23

@Mushroo Oh no! I am covered from my first but they did fade to very faint silvery within a year or so, and some are pretty deep. I dont think there is actually anything you can do to stop them, if they are coming, they're coming! though moisturiser will make them less itchy. Im hoping I wont get any new ones this time around.

@sashastuck haha omg thinking about your dad asking you is so cringe!! Bless him! I havent had anyone ask me but then it is my second, dont think anyone did last time though either. I would never dream of asking, such a weird personal question!!

Mushroo · 07/08/2023 15:25

@TunnocksTCake yeh, I’ve accepted my fate. Like you say, they’ll fade eventually so not the end of the world! Fingers crossed you escape any new ones this time.

RG9895 · 07/08/2023 15:33

@Mushroo me too!! I have 1 up half my belly so I know more will be coming! I did have a cry and get upset but at the end of the day I thought its growing my baby and there will be nothing better than meeting her at the end 🥰 besides no one really sees your belly! Its all part of the journey and just know you arent alone ☺️

Noodle89 · 07/08/2023 15:51

@PartRadish I know how u feel.. it still doesn't seem real. Dont think I'm going to believe it until she is here. Will be getting them to double check at my 20 week scan too 😅 now all we need to do is find a girls name as we had only picked out a boys name!

Thanku everyone for your kind words

Mushroo · 07/08/2023 15:57

@RG9895 thank you. Google was suggesting most women only get them in the third trimester so that made me feel a bit rubbish, so nice to know I’m not alone.

Onedayatatime24 · 07/08/2023 16:30

@Lilothblos yes to people asking if it was planned! It really surprised me how many people have asked us and it's all people that we aren't that close with too, so strange! I'd expect it off my mates but not work colleagues!

Also after some advice. We're currently in Scotland and doing some 2-3 hour walks/hikes while here. Taking lots of breaks and drinking lots of water and feel fine at the time. But when I get in bed in the evenings, I'm having some twinges here and there and a dull ache in (what I think) is my uterus area. Is this normal? In 17+1 so I know lots of growing happening at the minute but just want to check I'm not overdoing it. I'm also focusing hard and trying to feel baby so maybe I'm just noticing more aches because of that too. 😅 Anyone had anything similar?

Luhou · 07/08/2023 16:32

Stretch marks here too, unfortunately!
