@vix_85 oh that's such a pain 😔

@Raspbear Congratulations! So pleased for you. Hard to tell but I'd say it's a girl! 💜

@Mum1303 Welcome!! Haha you aren't old at all, plenty of us are 35+ 😊 I've been avoiding meds but if things don't change I might have to ask for some. I'm 13+3! I'm still waiting for my results 😴

Scarletthoping · 01/09/2023 12:12

@mum1303 I'm 39 next month and still consider myself young 😜#deluded #indenial

Hawk87 · 01/09/2023 14:28

@Mum1303 you're not old! I'm 35, soon to be 36 in 2 weeks and this is my first! I don't feel old but ask my again next March when I'm functioning on little sleep 😅

Nmvasey85 · 01/09/2023 15:18

Hey. I got prescribed promethazine today, had this worked for anyone?

Nmvasey85 · 01/09/2023 15:19

Also I'm old 🤣 37, nearly 38 and I feel about 90 right now

KatY9876 · 01/09/2023 15:22

None of you are old, I'm 42, will be 43 when baby arrives. First baby, we have had a long journey. I don't feel my age. X

sherbertlemon17 · 01/09/2023 15:48

I’m 35 too 👋🏻 This is baby 3 for me but the first in 6 years so I do feel much older this time round. I heard the other day that you’re called a ‘geriatric mum’ when you’re over 30 😆😆 Pass the zimmer frame 👵🏼

NovemberRainbow · 01/09/2023 16:30

@sherbertlemon17

Yay somebody else who has a big gap. My youngest will be 7 in April so just after baby 3 arrives. Have you told your children yet? Going to tell ours tomorrow 😊

Sassy90 · 01/09/2023 16:53

Hi everyone, had my 12 week scan today and all looked good! I had IUI so know my exact dates, I should be 11+6 however I was measuring 12+4 so they have brought my due date forward. Anyone else had this following fertility treatment? With my daughter's pregnancy (IUI too) they kept my dates the same.

Also for a bit of fun does anyone want to guess what gender could be ☺️

sherbertlemon17 · 01/09/2023 17:20

Ah yay @NovemberRainbow ! Glad I’m not the only one. I was quite daunted by it when we first found out, but I’ve definitely come round to the idea. I did the whole 2 under 2 last time round, so I’m quite looking forward to just having baby at home whilst the bigger two are at school 💕

We had a scan at 9 weeks where everything looked good, so did them a little scavenger hunt with clues, so they’ve known for a little while. They are excited but I’ve also had a few tears from my 7 year old because she’s worried the baby will be so cute that we’ll forget about her 💔

How are you telling yours?

OhmygoshREALLY · 01/09/2023 17:52

@sherbertlemon17 and @NovemberRainbow big age gaps here too! We’re a blended family, this is our first together and 3 of the kids have birthdays in April so within a month or so of bab arriving we’ll have 12yo, 11yo, 8yo, 7yo and 6yo. We’re thinking of going for one more after this but will wait and see how this one goes first - it’s been a long time since either of us were in the baby stage! It might knacker us both too much to want to do it again 🤣

Ruthsoph · 01/09/2023 18:10

We told our daughter last night she is 8 and gave her a “Big Sister” necklace - she is so over the moon
I am 46 and it’s been a long journey to get past 8 weeks with a pregnancy - this is my 10th pregnancy so it’s been a hard slog but we are over the moon
I was worried about telling people due to my age but seeing my daughters face last night and how happy she is I couldn’t give two hoots now xxx

Ap24 · 01/09/2023 19:17

@LeopardLover sorry I completely missed your comment. I'm okay. Still being sick but it's definitely easing off. We are awaiting an amniocentesis appointment so I still haven't told anyone despite being 14+1 weeks. I feel sad at times, I would love to be able to just enjoy being pregnant but feel torn if I may have to end it anyway. How are you?

I'm 37 so not a young one either. Its taken us 8 years to get here, so we would have liked to have been a little younger but life didn't work out that way.

Mum1303 · 01/09/2023 20:42

you have all reassured me I’m not as old as I feel 😂 I’m also going to have a big age gap…8 years. Little apprehensive about how she is going to take to having a sibling. Anyone else eagerly awaiting the little flutters?

Retrogamer · 01/09/2023 20:56

Hello, can I join please?
I'm due the very end of march according to ovulation.
I have had two previous losses, a mmc in May being the recent. I have been nothing but nerves throughout so far. I'm about 10 weeks this Sunday. I have also been spotting throughout since 4 weeks in. Epu scanned me at 8.4 all looking well and have prescribed me with cyclogest until 12 weeks. Spotting started again today but continued throughout the day with brown stringy bits (sorry tmi) I did do a 10 hour shift yesterday on my feet so hoping it's that and nothing else.

Anyway, I've basically been looking at dozens of mn threads today to try and reassure me. It didn't help 😅 so I'm trying a new approach and attempting not to worry about it until at least Monday when I can call up epu for advice. Hopefully by then it will have stopped...
Wow that post ended up long, sorry about that.

sherbertlemon17 · 02/09/2023 08:58

@Ruthsoph That’s such a sweet idea. And stuff anyone who wants to judge! Try to enjoy the journey as much as you can 💜

@Mum1303 I think I’ve felt a few little tickley movements, but let’s be honest, they could be wind 😆 They are in the place where the sonographer mainly had the scanner for the baby, so could be. I can’t wait until they are stronger, so that I know for sure.

@Retrogamer It all completely messes with your head doesn’t it? The anxiety is all consuming! I had very similar with my first at about 9 weeks and all was well, but fingers crossed you get some answers when you call Monday.

LeopardLover · 02/09/2023 09:49

I still feel like a big kid at 37! I probably act like one too because colleagues are always shocked when they discover my age haha.

@Sassy90 Do you have any other photos? Struggling to see a nub and would like another skull shot 😂❤️

@Ruthsoph You are one determined mama 🥰 so many women are having kids well into their 40s, I don't think it's unusual or surprising at all, but then all of my friends started later than average I guess!

@Ap24 I totally understand this! Have you had combined screening results already? Because I thought I was miscarrying at 8 weeks I told a number of friends. Last time we didn't tell anyone until about 13/14 weeks, and most after 20 weeks! It was so difficult. I hope you get your appointment soon. 🥰 37 is still plenty young! But I'm biased 😉

@Retrogamer Welcome! I've had bleeding since 8 weeks too, but I have an atrophic cervix so anything strenuous irritates it (only found this out after 3 visits to the EPU). I hope you can get a scan on Monday to reassure you - might be similar. 😊

Sassy90 · 02/09/2023 10:01

@LeopardLover only this one but it's not a very clear one! Guess I just have to be patient and wait a few more weeks until my gender scan 🤣

March 2024 continued!
Retrogamer · 02/09/2023 11:18

@sherbertlemon17 and @LeopardLover thank you. It seems to have stopped today after a days rest so really hoping it stays that way. 🙏

Retrogamer · 02/09/2023 11:20

@Sassy90 I'm going to make a guess and say girl. Lovely scan pic

Scarletthoping · 02/09/2023 11:33

So lovely to see these 12 week scans coming through! I cannot wait for mine.

I’m 11 weeks tomorrow and I just wondered if anyone’s morning sickness got worse before it got better? This week has been awful and I was so sick yesterday. But last week I was OK. It’s so hard when it’s up and down as I never know what I will be up for. I have to keep cancelling plans etc. I work from home which is lucky because even walking to the corner shop has made me wretch loads. But the downside is I feel like I’m in lockdown again. Feeling quite low. I’m naturally a social butterfly and being stuck at home is really hard for me especially as my partner has been away for work.

Can anyone relate?

Xx

Nmvasey85 · 02/09/2023 11:36

@Scarletthoping I really can, I feel like somewhat allergic to my house... all of the smells are sending me 😷 but then to leave is too much effort. I am 13.5 weeks and went to the doctors yesterday as my sickness seems to be worse, I'm not actually being sick. He prescribed me some meds but I've not started taking them yet as I felt ok yesterday and ok ish this morning so I will see how I go. I can relate to the feeling down aspect, I'm struggling to get excited about the pregnancy but I know it's just because I'm feeling lousy. I hope you're feeling better soon xx

Scarletthoping · 02/09/2023 13:41

@Nmvasey85 thank you. You have made me feel less alone. Really hope we both start feeling better soon! Xx

Mum1303 · 02/09/2023 17:46

My sneak peek results came today…I’m team pink 💗💕🌸

Pinkchicken85 · 02/09/2023 20:09

Hello all,
13 weeks and 2 days 😊 however I’m really in discomfort with my right hand side of my hip. I sporadically have shooting pains radiating from my right cheek down my leg. With aches and pains around my hip bone area. It’s difficult for me to get down and play with my other DC.
I’ve seen an oesteo already and my doctor said it isn’t sciatica, but it’s not getting better.
anyone else in this predicament? Really hoping it doesn’t last!
