@LeopardLover thanks for sharing your experience. I had a 3C which they did say was easier to repair surgically so don't know if that's why I have been so lucky. j did have problems to start but they have resolved. my husband is keen for a section but more because I had a really fast labour for my first so he is scared I have this one in the house haha
I'm just worried about pain from a section and not being able to lift my toddler or drive
@Hopefulhoney6 thanks for this. I had consultant follow up and physio but it was all done over the phone because of covid so not the best no one has actually seen me since. I might look into seeing a physio and seeing what they say

@krissy12 I had a 3a tear with my daughter so I’ve been thinking about this too. I also recovered well so I’m swaying towards a vaginal birth again. I’m just going to see how things go at the appointments though and the size of the baby. I’m hoping some of the reasons for my tear were circumstantial and may be avoided next time (back to back labour, baby came out with her arm above her head and I ended up birthing her on my back, having spent most of the time on all fours but my knees had had enough!). Will take all the advice on board though as I’m the sort of person that likes to know all the facts/risks before I make a decision.

krissy12 · 20/08/2023 13:59

@Aquarius93 this is interesting I also birthed on my back because no other positions were discussed but having researched since I would try another way next time

Pipperleen · 20/08/2023 15:47

I raised birth options at my booking appointment too as I’m also a bit worried about it all.
I had forceps, lost a lot of blood and needed two transfusions. At the time I had no clue what was going on and was so out of it so it’s not really that bit that bothers me, it’s just everything feels very…different…down there since it all healed. The skin feels so thin and things are not in the same place I swear!!!!!
So I’m not really sure what to do either. Everything is ‘functioning’ correctly now after pain for about 12 months but I really worry about doing some permanent damage incontinence-wise if I have another vaginal birth.

LeopardLover · 20/08/2023 16:35

@Pipperleen I definitely recommend speaking to a pelvic health specialist for an assessment! It isn't very expensive but definitely worth it. I saw one privately for 7/8 months after my birth until my NHS referral came through!

A lot of women say things were stitched differently down there 😐 glad you don't have pain though!

@krissy12 I'm so pleased you recovered so well! I had lots of tests but I was borderline so I wasn't offered surgery. I think c section recovery is different for everyone so it's just a roll of the dice. For me I'd rather be out of action for 6 weeks vs 12 months 🙈 But if everything is looking good then I'd definitely consider a vaginal birth if I were you. Although a specialist might be able to give you good advice re the muscle regrowth and the impact of menopause.

Pipperleen · 20/08/2023 16:47

Thanks @LeopardLover I hadn’t even considered that. I’ll definitely look into it.

LeopardLover · 20/08/2023 16:49

@Pipperleen Maybe look up Mummy MOT as a start. That's how I found mine! 😊

user1488042156 · 21/08/2023 10:43

Just jumping on here. I’m 8+3 with my third child but I also have a 6 month old so was very apprehensive about this pregnancy. Keeping it all to myself until possibly halfway through the pregnancy as feel a bit embarrassed getting pregnancy so quickly (unplanned).
is there a Facebook group or a group chat?

HKS90 · 21/08/2023 20:03

12 week scan this morning and everything looks great! A very wriggly baby! Dates a little different than I thought, due date now 3rd March not the 1st as I had calculated, but I will have to have a c-section so it will be a little before then anyway. Didn’t get a picture as they had run out of printer paper!! They did let me take a little video on my phone, but I’m gutted to not have the proper printout

BBno4 · 22/08/2023 07:02

Omg can't believe that didn't let you take a picture

Haych88 · 22/08/2023 09:57

Hi can anyone help I'm freaking out my test line seems lighter at 13 days post fresh embryo transfer , they were done around the same time in mornings and now are varying.

vix_85 · 22/08/2023 10:16

@Haych88 how far along are you? When HCG gets super high it can confuses the tests sometimes

Haych88 · 22/08/2023 10:32

I am 4 weeks and 4 days along .. I thought my hcg should still be rising.
:( I feel very sad but at the same time I'd rather know the truth and stop hoping too. :(

vix_85 · 22/08/2023 10:46

It would be worth calling your doctor to get HCG blood testing done where they'll do a day 1 and Day 3 to check for doubling. It will hopefully give you some answers x

Psmama22 · 22/08/2023 11:59

That’s so annoying! Could you ask them to print it from the file next time you’re in

Haych88 · 22/08/2023 12:24

Thank you everyone , I am at the hospital now waiting for a HCG and bloods . Doctor says they don't do bloods it's so ridiculous. Anyway just sitting here waiting anxiously. Hoping everything is okay I really do. Its my first time pregnant through a hard journey of IVF

Hopefulfirstround · 22/08/2023 13:36

I’m am getting so anxious , 8+3 , first scan at 10+5 , anyone else going mad with the wait !!!

Ellet37 · 22/08/2023 14:04

Yes! I'm (approx) 10 weeks today and my first scan is in 2 weeks time aaaaaaaaa, nervous/excited x

Busylizzie85 · 22/08/2023 14:08

The wait is awful, mine is the 5th of September when I'm nearly 13 weeks such a long wait!

I had my booking appointment today!

I was expecting online notes but very happy they gave me paper. No Bounty pack though. In my last pregnancy (8 year ago) the plastic notes folder was from Bounty and you got your voucher and free pack there.

Raspbear · 22/08/2023 21:56

I'm 11 weeks exactly today, and first NHS scan next Friday.

Had a private scan at 8+6 and all was well. Freaking out slightly that something's gone wrong in between. Just my anxiety, right?

Poppy9991 · 23/08/2023 08:18

Hi ladies, it’s so helpful to hear about mums who already gave birth! First timer here and obviously this is quite down the line but still so helpful to be reminded about possibility (high) of tear etc. Definitely didn’t have the different positions in mind either so thanks!
My 12w scan is today (at 11w5d) and I’m a wreck. I had 3 MC before so always completely sure that they’re going to give me bad news!! But will hold tight until 2.40!
Lovely to see all your cute 12w scan pictures and good news on here!!

vix_85 · 23/08/2023 08:24

We'll be thinking of you @Poppy9991 🙌🤍

Hi, I've had 3 already and didn't tear, so its not a guarantee to tear.
I remember them saying after the head comes out, wait, dont push straight away as that can cause a tear.
