Hi Everyone,

I’m just over 9 weeks & I’ve just been to the toilet and found that I had some light brown spotting and there was a bit more when I wiped. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this at all? Thank you.

@Poppy9991 Welcome!! Sorry to hear about your losses 😔 Bleeding is so scary. Not long to wait until your 12 week scan at least!

@gtx1797h Coke, haribo and monster munch are getting me through 😫 I hate being sick so much! I also feel like a rubbish mum to my toddler 🙈

@ShitImPregnant Yes, last week the sickness ramped up for me! Last pregnancy I was never sick, just felt awful in weeks 6 and 11. I'm dreading week 11 being worse than week 9 😩

Whatttttt? 11 is worse than 9?

@Roxystar23 yes I’ve had this over a week since last Monday. Was scanned yesterday and everything is fine. They’ve said it’s old blood and not to worry as baby is doing great. I’m on progesterone and just told to keep taking it. Could you contact your EPU or GP who can refer you? Hopefully then you can get some peace of mind x

Roxystar23 · 15/08/2023 08:14

@J2023xx

Thank you for replying - I’m waiting for the phone lines to open this morning to call as I’ve had some more this morning. After a night googling it’s not put me in a good place but your post has given me a bit of hope that I desperately needed. Glad to hear that you and baby are doing well. Thank you so so much for your post once again. X

J2023xx · 15/08/2023 08:16

@Roxystar23 I hope they can get you in as soon as poss 😊

blodyn91 · 15/08/2023 12:54

Sorry not been on here for a good 3 weeks !
9 weeks today, and feeling it. Really hope peak sickness is this week.
I ended up telling a colleague last week as I couldn't stop throwing up, and I was in his car. Made him promise to not tell anyone!

Anybody else having to use Badger notes? Im struggling to sign in with the passcode given, but been trying to get hold of midwife since last week, nobody at the hospital is answering the phone.

Hope everyone is well.
I can't believe im saying this, but Ive hardly exercised! With my first I continued racing through 1st trimester, this ones hit me hard!

Busylizzie85 · 15/08/2023 13:08

@blodyn91 I had loads of issues with badger notes at first had to call the referral number and they sorted it! I also kept getting emails addressed to other people not me 🫤

LeopardLover · 15/08/2023 13:16

@Roxystar23 Hope you got through okay! Brown blood is normally the least concerning. Hope all is well!

@blodyn91 Oh you poor thing. I keep throwing up but at night do not when I'm at work. Week 9 was rough but the sickness hasn't stopped and I'm now week 10.

You'll make up for the exercise in the second trimester, your bloody clearly needs rest! X

P.S the most exercise I do is running to the bathroom to spew 😅

STH1988 · 15/08/2023 13:19

@blodyn91 I've gone from doing 4 classes a week and being super active, to doing not much at all!
I have just been so exhausted. I'm really hoping in the 2nd trimester I get my mojo back - feeling so lazy!!

KatY9876 · 15/08/2023 13:31

@blodyn91 hello yes I am using badger notes. You need the code from the midwife then everything really easy to use. Once booking appointment done, you get more access. there will be a list of your maternity team and appointments throughout your pregnancy. X

Natt08 · 15/08/2023 13:37

I'll give anyone advice if I can but I'll be honest I'm just winging it 😂
Sounds good! Is this your first pregnancy?

Roxystar23 · 15/08/2023 17:23

@LeopardLover @J2023xx - Thank you both. I ended up having some pink spotting this morning and afternoon and thought the worst. My midwife said I could only get a referral if it was bright red and if I was in pain. I booked a private scan appointment & was waiting for them to confirm - However I got to see my little coffee bean with their beating heart. Such a relief. I hope this can bring some hope to others in a similar situation. I’m quite aware that I’m not out of the woods yet - but I’m still in the game.

Scarletthoping · 15/08/2023 17:26

@Roxystar23 i had brown discharge / brown spotting on and off for two weeks and all is fine. I was checked out by the EPU (my GP told me to go to A&E as I had cramping too and they did blood test and referred me to the EPU. I had a scan at 5+3 and another at 7+4 to double check and all was well. They didn’t seem concerned because it was brown not red. Hopefully it will be the same for you xx

Scarletthoping · 15/08/2023 17:27

@Roxystar23 - just read your update! So glad all is well! Sorry you had to go private though. That sucks! Everywhere is different it seems xx

LeopardLover · 15/08/2023 17:46

@Roxystar23 Oh how strange they wouldn't scan you unless the blood was red! Did you contact the EPU directly? So glad you got to see the little one. I've had pink and red spotting and all is well 🥰

LeopardLover · 15/08/2023 17:48

Natt08 · 15/08/2023 13:37

Sounds good! Is this your first pregnancy?

Was this one for me? 🥰 Well seems you're successfully winging it 🤣 I have a cheeky two year old! His pregnancy was a breeze though. I'm so over the sickness with this one 🙈

Roxystar23 · 15/08/2023 18:54

@Scarletthoping - So glad to hear that everything turned out well for you. Mine is a strange consistency - it’s like brown or light pink jelly (snot like) - sorry for the tmi! It’s not every time I go to the loo - it’s every other.
@LeopardLover - So pleased to hear that all is well with you too. I went through my midwife as you have to get referred by midwife or GP to be seen until 20 weeks.

J2023xx · 15/08/2023 23:17

@Roxystar23 sorry EPU wouldn’t scan you but I’m glad you booked in a private one and now have reassurance 💕💕

Natt08 · 16/08/2023 01:10

@LeopardLover yes sorry! AHH I felt the same, I did really well with the twins at first very little morning sickness ect, this time though! Urgh 😂😂😂

Pipperleen · 17/08/2023 12:20

Well the symptoms have returned with a vengeance. Jesus 🤢
Violently sick every morning without fail and a splitting headache.
11+1 today 🎉

Lemmeparticipate · 17/08/2023 12:38

is anyone else feeling like nesting already? Nausea seems to have eased off as has the tiredness, suddenly I'm looking round the house and wanting to sort everything out at once!

LeopardLover · 17/08/2023 12:53

@Pipperleen Oh man! I was hoping things would ease by week 11. Are you only sick in the morning? I can't eat my evening meal, I try every night and then bring it all back up 🙈

@Lemmeparticipate Definitely not but I blame the nausea 😅

@Natt08 You'd think the twins would cause more sickness 🤣 I hope you're coping okay, must be hard juggling two toddlers while feeling ill!

@Roxystar23 Hopefully it won't happen again 💜

Pipperleen · 17/08/2023 13:11

@LeopardLover yes, seems to just be the morning this time. Although today could break the trend - I can feel the spew threatening again.

With my successful pregnancy a couple of years ago I was sick all day everyday but we were in lockdown and she was my first so I’d just lounge about - what a life. This time, I am currently at soft play trying to hold it together with deep, cleansing breaths 😂

LeopardLover · 17/08/2023 13:25

@Pipperleen Oh good for you! I've literally abandoned all activities. I'm the worst mum at the moment 🤣🙈

Elphamouche · 17/08/2023 16:02

I feel like I’m going to die. Obviously I’m not and I’m being dramatic. But the nausea is horrific.

@LeopardLover glad your scan went well.

have the midwives tomorrow.
