Thanks everyone!

Feeling less sick today but instead feeling absolutely knackered. I slept for more than 7 hours and yet my eyes have been like lead all day!

@Hopefulfirstround - crossing all my fingers and toes that all this nausea is a really good sign for you xx

RosieS22 · 11/08/2023 17:49

10 weeks today and feeling sicker than ever. Can't shift the horrible taste. This morning I was violently sick and now have broken capillaries on my face!!
I thought it was supposed to get better once the placenta starts to take over 😩

NWnature · 11/08/2023 17:50

Hi all, hoping I can join as I was part of a thread with my first in 2020 and it was so helpful. I had a 7 week scan yesterday. Everything looked ok and bang on dates so I am due 28 March but I think I will ask for an ELCS as I had one last time with my son who was breech so I guess all being well baby could be here mid March!

Busylizzie85 · 11/08/2023 18:08

Welcome @NWnature my daughter was born in 2020 as well! I am hoping the experience this time round in hospital will be a lot better x

@LeopardLover My midwife appointment last time was on my 12 weeks. It’s annoying isn’t it.

im trying not to think about it too much because it didn’t end well last time, but things are better this time so far. But you never know so it’s just a game of wait and see.

hope your scan goes well on Monday xx

Elphamouche · 11/08/2023 19:00

@RosieS22 mine didn’t ease until after surgery last time :( hopefully you don’t suffer for too much longer. I took cyclizine last time and it did help a lot.

LeopardLover · 11/08/2023 19:02

@Elphamouche Oh really! It makes me sad because so many midwives are leaving and they are incredible humans (I just want the best for them) 😭.

Thank you! I hope yours goes well too - I'm sorry to hear things didn't end well last time 😔 was that news at a scan? I really hope time flies for you - it's been dragging this time for me x

LeopardLover · 11/08/2023 19:04

@RosieS22 Oh you poor thing 😭 I have a friend who had awful sickness until 16 weeks, but for most it drops off at 12 weeks. Hoping it's shortlived! X

Elphamouche · 11/08/2023 19:38

@LeopardLover Yeah I had spotting for 3/4 weeks until I was 8 weeks. Had 3 early scans and all was fine. Then no more bleeding 8-13 weeks, no issues. Full pregnancy symptoms (I actually really struggled with the sickness from 8 weeks) and then at the scan we found is had an MMC 4/5 weeks earlier. Then still had full symptoms until surgery 10 days later.

Part of me thinks I could go for an early scan and just know, but really there’s no point for me, sadly scans for me just tell you everything is okay at the moment. I hope once we get past the dating scan this time I’ll feel differently about them.

thankfully because I keep forgetting time is going fairly quick 😂 but if the sickness ramps up now time is going to stand still. Im absolutely starving, but I stupidly laid down on the bed so im trying to find the energy to move downstairs and put some pasta on lol.

MrsLM85 · 12/08/2023 13:49

Does anyone keep having an awful taste it’s not the ‘metallic’ taste and can’t really describe it but everytime I eat/drink within 5 mins it’s back, always the same no matter what Iv had

RosieS22 · 12/08/2023 16:03

@MrsLM85 yeah all the time. I feel like it's more of a sour taste rather than metallic. Can't wait for this stage to be over!

Poppy9991 · 12/08/2023 18:33

Hi everyone, would you accept a late joiner to this group? I’m also due March 2024 and currently 10w. This is an IVF pregnancy (2nd cycle), and I had 3 MCs before, so still anxious. I was also diagnosed. With a hematoma which bled heavily last week so quite nervous still. Hoping that everyone has a smooth pregnancy .

gtx1797h · 12/08/2023 19:52

Hi all I’m 10 weeks and feeling all the symptoms
horrible sickness nothing would stay down but now on medication
drinking lots of full fat cola
sweets to curb the sickness
been sleeping most of the summer holidays feel terrible for my other children as I’ve barely been with them
other half has taken over but he is moaning about it
what can you do though just want to get past this next few weeks
i have done the self referral form but heard nothing back re dates etc

BBno4 · 12/08/2023 20:43

Hi, it took me about 2 weeks to get a phone call after I self referred then I got letters for both my booking appointment and scan.

I'm also so tired 8w 1d, I normally go to the gym few times a week by have had to cut down as I have this general 'sick' feeling with headache and nausea attached.

I have zero interest in cleaning or doing the laundry but I also want it clean and done lol 😆
So my dh has been washing up and vacuuming but he's also working so I've had to let the standards drop a bit. Also how clean can it get when the house is constantly in use during the 6 weeks with the kids at home?

ShitImPregnant · 13/08/2023 21:08

I'm 9+5 today and Jesus Christ morning sickness has kicked up a notch this week. Vommed more this week than I have done in the last 5 years.

Those who have done pregnancy before, is week 9 the sickness peak? Please tell me it's going to get better soon!

Applefries26 · 14/08/2023 04:08

Hi, anyone having the same problem as me? I need assurance. I’m at 10+1 weeks today. Yesterday night i was bleeding. There was red blood clot. I immediately went to hospital emergency. They scan me through my V and finds out the baby is there yet measured for 7 weeks and they’re unable to detect heartbeat. They scheduled another scan next week and further procedures will be decided by then. I’m very worried and I don’t know what to do.

krissy12 · 14/08/2023 06:44

@Applefries26 so sorry to hear this how stressful they will want to scan you again to double check for any growth and a heartbeat hopefully there will be but if there isn't then unfortunately they will probably tell you you have had a missed miscarriage. this happened to me you start bleeding as your hormone levels begin to drop but you normally need medical or surgical management. I opted for the surgical

Applefries26 · 14/08/2023 07:13

Sorry to hear your side of story. The bleeding has stopped. I hope it won’t come back and there will be baby heartbeat on my next scan. I will need to prepare for the worst incase it’s missed miscarriage. Thank you so much.

LeopardLover · 14/08/2023 08:33

@Elphamouche Sorry I was replying to you the same day and then my phone battery went flat and I forgot 😅 how are you feeling today? So sorry about your last MMC, I can understand why early scans might not provide reassurance for you. Chances of a miscarriage drop dramatically after 12 weeks so hopefully that will bring some peace at least!

I had a bit more blood and some unusual pain last so I'm booked in for another scan today.

LeopardLover · 14/08/2023 08:51

@Poppy9991 Welcome!! Sorry to hear about your losses 😔 Bleeding is so scary. Not long to wait until your 12 week scan at least!

@gtx1797h Coke, haribo and monster munch are getting me through 😫 I hate being sick so much! I also feel like a rubbish mum to my toddler 🙈

@ShitImPregnant Yes, last week the sickness ramped up for me! Last pregnancy I was never sick, just felt awful in weeks 6 and 11. I'm dreading week 11 being worse than week 9 😩

LeopardLover · 14/08/2023 08:51

@Applefries26 I'm so sorry, this sounds very stressful. Is there any chance your dates are wrong? 😔 Xx

Natt08 · 14/08/2023 10:48

Hi Ladies,

Just looking to join if you're up for another one 😁
Due 8th March 2024 (10+3 today)
I'm 30 from SYorks with 18 month old twins, it's a single baby this time from an early scan at 6+6 got my official dating scan on 30th August.

Hope everyone is doing ok ☺️

krissy12 · 14/08/2023 12:35

@LeopardLover hope your scan goes okay

welcome @Natt08

LeopardLover · 14/08/2023 12:55

@Natt08 Welcome! 💕 We have some first time twin mums in here who I'm sure would welcome some advice 😉 we are on a similar timeline, I'm due 11th March with scan on 29th August!

@krissy12 Thank you. It went well, baby is fine and they have a few theories on the blood. If it happens again I need to go back and they will run further investigations. But they were happy with everything. It's not the hospital I plan to give birth in which makes me feel guilty because they are wonderful. Sometimes having a choice of two makes things trickier. 🙈 How are you doing?

@blodyn91 How are you holding up? ❤️

krissy12 · 14/08/2023 15:03

@LeopardLover that's great news it all went well. that's so good aswell you can pick where you go ill be giving birth in the hospital closest to where I live but I work in a hospital the other side of the city and they won't let me have my appointments here because its not where I'm giving birth!
I'm good thanks 8+5 now think I'm going to book in for a private scan later this week because my daring scan it's until 7th Sept just to check everything is still going well
