@Khanga27 I was thinking about you today. I'm so sorry, yet I'm glad you have closure and know the next steps. I hope Friday goes as well as possible, and I hope you aren't in too much pain. Sending you lots of love x

LeopardLover · 08/08/2023 13:15

@blodyn91 How are you? Still as fit as ever? You are my inspiration 🤣💕 I'm okay, thank you after my drama the other week. Constipation is still killing me though. I seem to get really sick from 4pm until bedtime 😅

Wow you have one long appointment coming up then! At least it'll be thorough x

Scarletthoping · 08/08/2023 14:10

@Khanga27 @sophieliz @FiddleLeaf I’m so sorry for what you are going through. I’ve been thinking of you. Sending lots of love for the next steps xx

@sophieliz - I’m also so sorry about the loss of your Dad.

I was going to message this to you but can’t work it out… and then I thought maybe it was useful for others who are struggling. Anyway I used to be a volunteer with the Samaritans when I had more time (and plan to go back at some point) and honestly I couldn’t recommend calling them enough while you’re feeling so low. You don’t have to be suicidal to call. Anyone can call the Samaritans if they need emotional support. Lots call about the grief they are going through or because they are lonely. Sometimes it can really help to talk things through with a complete stranger and just get out everything you have on your mind. It can be hard sometimes to say everything to loved ones because they worry or maybe don’t always react that well. Anyway… the number is 116 123. They are there 24/7.

@FiddleLeaf Oh no 😢💔 Is there any chance things can improve? I know you've had such a tough journey getting here. I'm so sorry x

Thank you 💛 It doesn’t sound likely. She said they had grown but still behind & the heartbeat was around 70 and much stronger last week. I’ll carry on with the IVF meds until next week’s scan but I’m fairly sure it’s going to end in miscarriage.

I feel a lot better vs this morning. The shock is so grim. We’re now allowing ourselves to wallow on the sofa.

It’s times like these I’m thankful for a fantastic partner x

FiddleLeaf · 08/08/2023 14:51

Thanks for all the love ladies. I don’t want to bring a dark cloud to this thread so wish you all the best and will hopefully be back on this board soon 😊

I hope you have happy & healthy pregnancies x

MummyJen04 · 08/08/2023 15:39

Thinking of you all 💛 hopefully you will be back on the same journey again soon. Stay strong ladies xxx

FinallyMrsT · 08/08/2023 17:40

Sending lots of love to @Khanga27 @sophieliz and @FiddleLeaf xxx

krissy12 · 08/08/2023 18:42

so sorry @Khanga27 @sophieliz @FiddleLeaf I've been there its not fair

vix_85 · 08/08/2023 19:14

To you all having a horrible time after such heartbreaking news, I am so sorry 💔 This journey is never guaranteed and it goes to show how vulnerable the process is and what a blessing successful pregnancies are. Until a baby arrives safe and well, I don't think any potential mother can relax in this journey. I am heartbroken for you all. I've been there, as many have and its something I am in fear of everyday in this pregnancy. Be kind to yourselves and take the time you need xx

ScottishStardust · 08/08/2023 19:16

Thinking of you ladies. @Khanga27 @sophieliz and @FiddleLeaf - take care of yourself and allow yourself time!
Wishing you all the best for your rainbow babies, it would be lovely to hear from you when the time comes xx

The nausea is really really kicking in now. I have no vomiting so the normal medications are unlikely to work for me. Any recommendations ? I’m supposed to be staying with my mother in law this weekend and I can barely get out of bed.

I feel the same with general fluey headache aswell.
I was pounding ginger shots and home made ginger tea but my Moroccan mother inlaw has got me paranoid as she says its too hot for the baby and its not good.
I know its recommended here so should be OK but she still has me paranoid.

Hopefulfirstround · 10/08/2023 09:41

I’m a doctor , ginger is very safe , and if it’s working for you all the better ! I’m averse to all foods now 🫠 and the vomiting has begun this morning , going to pop to my own GP and get some Cariban hopefully

Scarletthoping · 10/08/2023 11:28

The nausea and vomming have really ramped up this week for me. Maybe I should go see my GP too…

In happier news, I had my viability scan this morning after the scare I had at 5 weeks (bleeding and cramping) and thankfully all is well. We even saw the heartbeat. Now measuring at 7 + 4 and all is looking exactly as they would expect. I feel so lucky and relieved but obviously it’s still early days.

Had to be given a sick bowl during the scan as I was so nauseous but luckily I didn’t actually have to use it 😂

Aquarius93 · 10/08/2023 11:32

I think my nausea has ramped up too but I also have a nasty cold so it could have something to do with all the phlegm!

I don’t have any remedies I’m afraid - I’m sticking to small meals and tend to just eat plain crackers in between when I’m struggling. But I know everyone is different and has different reactions to food!

@Scarletthoping glad the scan went well!

Hopefulfirstround · 10/08/2023 13:25

@Scarletthoping delighted your scan went well !! I’m getting an early scan at 8 weeks so hopefully it will be good news. I’ve had 2 miscarriages since January but I’ve never been this nauseous so I’m taking it as a good thing . @Aquarius93 i found the nasal rinses so good for that , gross to use but really helped

Aquarius93 · 11/08/2023 08:35

@Hopefulfirstround thanks, I’ve been trying that and lots of steam. Hoping it doesn’t linger too long!

Finally heard back from the midwife. Got my first appointment on 30th August (slightly outside the window but not too worried) and then my scan is on 8th September (4 weeks to go!)

Hopefulhoney6 · 11/08/2023 11:20

I’m so sorry to hear of your losses everyone ❤️ I had a MMC last year and it really is the worst, nothing anyone can say to make it better but hopefully you and your DPs can support each other.

@Hopefulfirstround I’m on 400mg cyclogest twice a day. I have been doing it rectally rather than vaginally and it’s making me poo more than ever, so you could try that to help the constipation?! (Also I just find rectally is so much cleaner, it doesn’t come out again except when you poo!)

Pipperleen · 11/08/2023 11:55

Hi all, I have been keeping up with the thread from afar. So sorry to hear about the losses. I have been there too and it never gets easier.

I am 10+2 today but have been a bit worried this week as the nausea has calmed down a little bit. It was constant from weeks 5-9 but I feel ok now. It’s scaring me to be honest, I can’t help but think the worst.

I’ve got my scan bang on 12 weeks so not long to wait I suppose. Just keeping everything crossed that they are hanging on and are doing ok in there.

Sending love to all of you, whatever your circumstances.

Apparently the placenta can kick in around 10 weeks so the nausea stop smoking! Fingers crossed that's all it is.

LeopardLover · 11/08/2023 12:04

@Pipperleen Nausea stops suddenly* 😅

LeopardLover · 11/08/2023 12:06

@Scarletthoping Yay! Such good news ❤️

Elphamouche · 11/08/2023 15:10

I’m feeling much more sick today then I have done this time round.

Bit uncomfortable as well with aches and pains but they’re really light so I’m trying not to worry. I’m sure it’s all normal! Im constipated which is bloody delightful so probably the issue!

Got the midwife next week, hopefully the 12 week scan in 4 weeks.

Pipperleen · 11/08/2023 16:37

Thanks @LeopardLover, I hope so 🤞🏼

LeopardLover · 11/08/2023 16:59

@Elphamouche I'm majorly uncomfortable too and I'm blaming constipation! Had more pain and some blood yesterday so having another scan on Monday. Glad everything seems on track for you, I'm disappointed I won't get my booking appointment until I'm 12 weeks 🙈😑
