Morning everyone, hope we’re all doing ok.

First day back in the office today after a couple of weeks with no trains, I’m about 9 weeks and have a very visible bump. Colleagues will probably be too polite to mention, but it’ll definitely get noticed!

Elfie123 · 01/08/2023 09:08

@MotheringDaughters thank you for the reassurance 😊 My midwife at my booking appointment also didn't seem overly concerned - just need to lay off running and hope it's gone/reduced by my 12 week scan on 24th August 🤞

FiddleLeaf · 01/08/2023 09:47

Morning all, I have my first scan tomorrow at my ivf clinic (6+3 today). I’m feeling really strange about it. Almost like I’m bracing myself for bad news and to be told nothing’s there. I want to fast forward the next 24 hours and just know. I wish I was a more patient (& optimistic!) person 😩

Strawb28 · 01/08/2023 11:41

Hi @FiddleLeaf im the same I have a 6 week scan tomorrow (I booked an early reassurance scan) I had some red spotting on Sunday just one time and from then I am terrified of what they are going to tell me tomorrow! X

Itsasomething · 01/08/2023 11:43

I've also had spotting and feeling freaked. I know some spotting is supposed to be normal but can't help but go full Google spiral

Bellabeemarie · 01/08/2023 11:47

I also had spotting fri spent all night at a&e to discharge myself after 5 hrs because it was another 7-8 hr wait to see a doctor, went back sat morning and they have booked me a scan for today at 2pm I'm sooooooo scared I think I'm only 5+4 today xxx

Strawb28 · 01/08/2023 11:52

@Itsasomething @Bellabeemarie spotting is meant to be normal enough but you read such conflicting stories. To be honest most stories I've seen are positive but I am still so nervous for tomorrow! I hope all goes OK for you both ❤️

Hiddenvoice · 01/08/2023 12:03

I had spotting last weekend leading into Monday and Tuesday. Epu couldn’t do anything as I was 5 weeks so didn’t want to give me false hope by scanning too soon. I’ve not long had a scan to check and my baby is okay, I could see a heartbeat too.

The sonographer was lovely. She was calm
and reassuring and reminded me what will be will be.
I hope it all goes okay for you ladies spotting. I had the hardest 10 days of worry and fear. I googled everything and it made it so much worse. Try keep positive! Hope the time flies for you!

Strawb28 · 01/08/2023 12:13

Thank you so much @Hiddenvoice could I ask was any of your spotting red or just brown?

Psmama22 · 01/08/2023 12:29

Hi ladies hope you’re all feeling well. I had an early scan last week at 7+2 but the baby was measuring 5+6. It kind of makes sense as I only got my BFP the day after my period was due so I think the embryo implanted late but I still feel quite deflated! They’ve asked me back in two weeks to see if the baby is growing as it should. Strong heartbeat at 115 which is promising. Has this happened anyone else?

Hiddenvoice · 01/08/2023 12:44

@Strawb28 it was sort of pink to begin with then brown

eloisie · 01/08/2023 12:57

Hi all, I am coming up to 6 weeks. I had very sore breasts at the time I got my faint BFP (I suspect that was implantation). No symptoms since then although the lines are growing darker on tests. I am tired but also have a young baby so it’s not that surprising and I’m not sure I can link it to the pregnancy. Anyone else in the same situation? I’ve booked a private scan for 6+6.

Strawb28 · 01/08/2023 14:04

@eloisie the lack of symptoms is something that is also concerning me! I'm 5 + 6 today and besides some very mild symptoms im mostly 100%. I have a 6 week scan tomorrow so will let you know how I get on. I'm extremely nervous.

eloisie · 01/08/2023 14:05

All the best! This is my second pregnancy and I never had many symptoms for the first, but one can’t help but worry… the first trimester is very difficult isn’t it. I am trying to keep in mind that we are pregnant until proven otherwise 🙂

Bellabeemarie · 01/08/2023 14:12

Thank you girls I wouldn't have panicked so much if I didnt have Pcos, my gp said if I notice any spotting what so ever I need to get checked incase it's my progesterone dropping due to pcos, so I'm sat waiting for my scan then doctor review with progesterone supplements if all is well in the scan 🤞🙏

Goodluck ladies who's waiting on scans xxx

Aquarius93 · 01/08/2023 14:44

@eloisie I didn’t really have any symptoms until yesterday (6+4) and now the nausea has really kicked in! Its still early days. Of course every pregnancy is different though.

Sheamar · 01/08/2023 15:13

I had a private scan yesterday (6w1d) where a gestational sac and yolk sac where visible but not fetal pole. It was an abdominal US and the tech said she could see a possible flicker but i wasnt convinced. The pictures really aren't great quality but i am convinced that its a blighted ovum but im trying to be optomistic. Its so hard, i cant stop crying and im trying to be there for my 20 month old but its so hard. Is there anyone who maybe had a similar experience and everything turned out ok?

Sorry to hear that your scan was a stressful experience!

Could they not offer you a vaginal ultrasound? These are more reliable before 8 weeks and can ease any worries (and they are totally painless)

Did they suggest coming back?

krissy12 · 01/08/2023 18:30

@Sheamar I would try not to worry I've always had to have an internal scan at 6 weeks because they say you can't see that much at 6 weeks with an abdo scan

Ellet37 · 01/08/2023 20:31

Hi everyone, just saying hello :)
Im due on March 18th and have a little girl who'll be turning 4 next month.
Hope everyones doing OK and wishing all the best for those of you having early scans x

Wonderwal · 01/08/2023 21:07

@Psmama22 i had more or less the same at the weekend. Was 7+3 but measured 5+2, so quite a difference. There was a heartbeat. An anxious wait for another scan. They told me come back in 2 weeks but I think I might go in a week somewhere else for a second opinion. Part of me hopes they just didn’t measure correctly. I hope you get some growth!

Psmama22 · 01/08/2023 22:06

@Wonderwal same to you! That’s a good idea as the wait is really tough!

STH1988 · 02/08/2023 12:23

@BraveHeart91 Sorry the delayed reply, I have been away!

How did the scan go, did you find out if they are sharing a placenta?

krissy12 · 02/08/2023 12:58

@LeopardLover how did your scan go?

Hopefulfirstround · 02/08/2023 15:12

Anyone else completely exhausted ?!?! I’m only 5+4 and I’ve been napping so much , 10 hours sleep last night . I’m on call in the hospital tomorrow from 8:00-21:00 and I don’t know how I’m going to survive it !!
