@Khanga27 I understand, I had the same last December, the wait from private to NHS is awful. My trust don't recognise private scans so had to have 2 NHS scans a week apart and then I still didn't show any signs and had to go into hospital to miscarriage. The wait and delay were hard and your life is in limbo. I really hope you get good news in a few days. X

Does anyone have knowledge of Aplastic Anaemia? The blood results from my booking appointment says there's 'Peaks' of AA and I'm worried what that means for me

Scarletthoping · 30/07/2023 16:37

@Khanga27 - thinking of you! I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Hope you get a definite answer ASAP xx

BraveHeart91 · 30/07/2023 18:00

@STH1988 @Gonesurfing how you mummies feeling - I feel awful I have a scan tomorrow morning @9:40 to see if they sharing the same placenta.

Hopefulhoney6 · 30/07/2023 18:05

@Khanga27 Im so so sorry. I had a MMC last year and I found I went from crying, to feeling numb, go just getting on with it. It took 4 weeks from my private scan to my op with the NHS (for various reasons - one being that a heartbeat developed in between two scans and then faded) but I found the EPU at the NHS to be so so kind and talk me through all the of the different options. I found it was best to plan for the worst and also just do what feels best for you. I didn’t take any time off work, as I found just being “normal” was better. But I did tell one colleague (someone I do a lot of work for) and he was so sympathetic and said I could take whatever I needed.
And I told all my friends as I needed support, especially from those who had been through it.
be kind to yourself xxx

@Khanga27 I’m really sorry you’re having to go through this 💕

@LeopardLover I hope your scan goes well tomorrow 💕

I went for a scan today as I was referred to the EPU due to cramps and previous mc. LMP meant 7+4 however my cycles can be quite lengthy so I was expecting to be nearer 6 weeks. All they could see was a yolk sac but no embryo suggesting I was more like 5 weeks. I’m really hoping this is the case and I just ovulated really late and it will progress 🤞🏻 I have to wait 2 weeks for a second scan which I know I’ll drive myself insane.

Hi all,

First time mum here! I had a private early dating scan this morning. Based on LMP I would be 9 weeks today but they dated me at 8 weeks, which I'm not too surprised about as my cycles aren't regular and I suspected I ovulated late! Due date 9th March 😊

They did say I had a subchorionic haematoma which I'm slightly worried about but from researching they seem quite common!? I've got my booking appointment with my midwife on Monday so I'll mention it to her then.

Symptoms wise, I've been experiencing mild nausea since 5 weeks but it has gradually got worse over the last week, vivid dreams and sore boobs!

Congratulations on your pregnancy 🎉

My sister was also told that she had a subchronic haematoma but when she was scanned again 2 weeks later, it was barely there anymore. Please try not to worry about it as it does seem to be quite common 🙂

LeopardLover · 30/07/2023 21:56

@TMK238 I really appreciate your message, thank you. I've had lots of cramping and discomfort this weekend.

It sounds like your dates were just off a bit, hopefully the next two weeks fly by for you 🥰

Hiddenvoice · 30/07/2023 23:49

Good luck tomorrow @LeopardLover 🤍

bluecarcar · 31/07/2023 07:30

Hi, can I tentatively join? I had a scan on Friday at 5+4 (seen a heartbeat) making me 6 weeks today. I've had a lot of pains and aches in my lower stomach and back over the weekend is this normal? I don't remember them being this painful when having my son.

Previous early miscarriage in October so I'm currently a bag of nerves. Constantly symptom checking and just have this horrible feeling in my gut that somethings going to go wrong.

Keeping everything crossed 🤞

FinallyMrsT · 31/07/2023 07:58

Hope the scan goes well today @LeopardLover

Welcome @bluecarcar sorry to hear about your previous loss!
This is my 2nd and I had a mc between (Albeit my son is 14 this week, and my mc was about 11 years ago) so my memory's abit sketchy haha but I don't remember anything quite this painful or uncomfortable in the 1st trimester with either of those at it appears to be getting worse each day symptom wise. I have booked an early scan to try ease my anxiety but that is in 2 weeks I am currently 5+4
I still can't quite believe I am pregnant and that all is OK. But this bunch of ladies are lovely and really supportive.

ScottishStardust · 31/07/2023 09:30

Hope all goes well today @LeopardLover

Sorry to hear about your news @Khanga27 hope you get answers soon

Khanga27 · 31/07/2023 09:34

Thanks all for all kind messages.

Earliest scan I can get is Tuesday 8th August. The private clinic suggested unrelated to the time to wait, but it's coincidently 10 days after the private scan so I suspect they're following the NHS guidelines based on the measurements. They mentioned trying a different hospital (same distance to me, under a different trust but was an option with midwife team when I had appointment), but I suspect they will say the same thing, or I'm worried that if I get earlier scan and measurements haven't changed enough then I would have to wait another 10 days for a second scan anyway.

Itsasomething · 31/07/2023 13:23

Has anyone got some good excuses for not drinking? I've got a work event on Weds that I can't get out of and am a Terrrrrrrible liar.

I didn't have to lie last time round as HG kept me away from any kind of fun other than shopping for fancy bath mats 😅

KatY9876 · 31/07/2023 13:41

@Itsasomething you could say you are on antibiotics for urine infection and can't drink. X

FinallyMrsT · 31/07/2023 14:23

@Itsasomething designated driver? That was my excuse last night.

BBno4 · 31/07/2023 15:14

I joined the group when it was posted uptrend but im still waiting for admin to accept...

ScottishStardust · 31/07/2023 15:31

@Itsasomething for me the antibiotics reason always made me suspicious but I never said anything out loud when someone used it.

Before pregnant I was prescribed codeine for pain reasons and you're not allowed to drink on that - potentially another option.

But designated driver and/or little one is unwell so you want to be flexible to get home?

Hopefulhoney6 · 31/07/2023 19:09

@blodyn91 I saw a previous post about tailbone pain. I’m 9 weeks and mine is in agony some of the time 😢 mainly when I exercise - a walk at the weekend set it off and I’ve just played squash and now I’m so so sore!!

I’ve previously seen a pelvic health physio and I know that I do have a hypertonic pelvic floor (I’m into the gym and also quite prone to stress!), so I’ve been doing the stretches you recommended and my exercises from them. Anything else you recommend?? Would you see a pelvic health or another type of physio at 12 weeks? I know they won’t test me again before that.

@Itsasomething ive had 5 work events since I found out. Depends on the setting but I’ve not made an excuse, I’ve just drank non alcoholic beers and people haven’t asked. I had one dinner, but luckily one other person (a guy) said “I’m not going to drink” and so I just said “me too”. So I think I’ve been lucky, but I’ve just said “I fancy non alcoholic” and then not tried to make an excuse. But who knows if people are guessing as normally I’m into the booze!

take a clipboard and a sign up sheet. If anyone asks why you aren’t drinking then say you’re doing ‘dry summer’ and ask if they’d like to sign up to sponsor you. Obviously don’t ever claim it 🤣

graceinc22 · 31/07/2023 21:11

@Khanga27 so so sorry you are having this awful time, with the waiting for scans too. Sending love ❤️

OhmygoshREALLY · 31/07/2023 22:31

Hi, just creeping in to lurk in here if that’s ok. 6+1 today or thereabouts, have 3 dc but have also had 4 mc, 3 of which were mmc, so this is a pretty crappy and anxious time. Have a private scan booked for Saturday when I should be just under 7 weeks so will hopefully see a heartbeat, just counting the days and trying not to go mad in the meantime.

Babymakes6 · 01/08/2023 07:25

Hi,
