My EDD is 1st March, and I’ve only just got my booking in appt for 7th aug (I’ll be 10+4) nothing about the dating scan - is that usual? Will they release that after the initial appointment? So jealous seeing everyone else get theirs booked in! X

My EDD is 3rd March and I only had my booking in appointment yesterday. My first scan isn't until 25th when I'll be 13+1.

I think it's fairly normal due to Maternity departments just being so short of staff

FinallyMrsT · 27/07/2023 17:14

Welcome @sophieliz & @Mailys sorry if I've missed anyone else off that's new.

Thank-you for the info @LeopardLover I think I'll hold off. Maybe put it to hubby at a later date if I'm worried about anything.
ATM I'm just trying to get to my early scan I've booked

I would probably hold off epu if its tiny...and keep a little liner in my pants to keep an eye. but if it puts your mind at rest I would ring ( because it reality I know I'd only panic anx probs ring myself)

eloisie · 27/07/2023 17:54

Hi all, I don’t know exactly how far along I am, I suspect 5 weeks or so or coming up to that. Got a dye stealer this morning! Feeling very tired, nauseous and very excited 😊we want to do an early scan at 6 weeks and something.

March 2024 continued!
Itsasomething · 27/07/2023 20:01

Congratulations! Very exciting!

Haven't heard from the self referral yet, it says they might not contact you until week 9 s 😆oooooo....filling up my online basket in every shop

Khanga27 · 27/07/2023 20:44

@LeopardLover that sounds a good idea. I'll keep the appointment sat but then see when my NHS is arranged and decide from there about the private blood test. Hope all is going OK with you.

@Hopefulhoney6 I'm sorry to hear about your loss last year. Hope the scans have put your mind at rest so far.

LeopardLover · 27/07/2023 20:52

@FinallyMrsT Thank you for your response 🥰

@Khanga27 sounds like a good plan 😊

@sophieliz My scan was around 13 weeks last time too, but at least I'd had my booking appointment. It's so sad about the shortages, midwives are absolute heroes!

Wotchaz · 28/07/2023 08:35

Goodness me! Just had 11 pages of this thread and a couple from the last to catch up on, it’s lovely that there are so many of us here. Going to try and keep up a bit better now, hi and congrats to everyone that’s joined this week.

8w today I think, and after weeks of constant nausea I properly vomited for the first time last night. PIL and SIL are coming to stay over tonight and I’ve no idea how I’m going to hide this from them because I just feel so rough.

Have a private scan booked for tomorrow afternoon so fingers crossed we get some good news. Will have to take the 2 DC (3.5 and 14 months) with us which isn’t ideal, but if it’s good news I’m sure my oldest will be very excited.

Scarletthoping · 28/07/2023 12:17

Thanks for all the kind messages about my (light brown) bleeding and cramping the other day. We ended up at the hospital and the blood test came back fine but we were sent to the EPU the following day and were told the pregnancy is developing "perfectly". Phew. Saw the yolk sac and the sonographer could just about make out the baby although it was so small as I'm only 5 weeks. It was such a relief though. I had the fear I was having an ectopic pregnancy as the pain was mostly on the left hand side.

Now we are under the early pregnancy services so have to go back in two weeks for another scan to double check everything is OK. Quite pleased about this as it means we can cancel the private scan we booked that week and also means I can call them up whenever if I'm worried about anything which feels reassuring.

How's everyone getting on? Have you got many symptoms? My boobs are mega sore and I'm definitely feeling more tired as each day goes by.

FinallyMrsT · 28/07/2023 13:04

@Scarletthoping I'm so glad everything is developing well and the early pregnancy team are looking after you well.
My boobs are getting a little bit sore. And I don't feel nausea today which I have for last few days. But I still have time for it to return I am 5+1 today ( I think)

Scarletthoping · 28/07/2023 13:39

@FinallyMrsT I had some nausea earlier in the week but it's gone too. I am told it usually comes in force from 6 weeks onward. Something to look forward to! Ha!

Khanga27 · 28/07/2023 14:14

@Scarletthoping So glad you got thav peace of mind!

I have only had a little nausea which seemed to be triggered by thing like spicy food or from not eating for too long. Now that I have worked out what to avoid etc it seems to be okay for me (except I got horrendous indigestion from eating too much Tuesday night). Wasnt sure if it would start again between now (8+1 weeks) and end of first trimester. I have had achy boobs that have gotten massive now (think i need a new bra now) and i have quite bad tummy bloat (too early for a bump) and gas. Also have had my sense of taste and smell change, finding flavours and smells much stronger. I def think eating smaller meals/snacks but more often has been helping me loads.

Went to GP about my back pain today which started last weekend after I managed to twist it (baking of all things), so has hurt sitting too long or bending over. I've been really reluctant to even take paracetamol just because I'm nervous about it for the baby (I know it's probably fine, but I just worry).

Managed to get a physio appointment through my GP for Tuesday next week. Hubby is really jealous as when he's had to be referred for physio he's had months to wait.

Aquarius93 · 28/07/2023 14:14

I’m 6+1 and not having many symptoms. I’m quite bloated but not much else going on. I had more symptoms when I first found out but maybe that was just the sudden change in hormones!

Only other symptom is I can never decide what I want to eat 😂

LeopardLover · 28/07/2023 14:43

@Scarletthoping So pleased everything looks good! Sounds like it was just implantation bleeding.

Unfortunately I've had some more light pink blood in my cervical mucus, and now cramping! It's a little stressful as my nausea has suddenly eased too (7+4) but I'm booked in for a scan at the hospital on Monday. Feels like a long wait though!

@Khanga27 Great news about the physio referral, I hope it helps 😊

Itsasomething · 28/07/2023 15:06

No real symptoms here, I had mild backache and cramps last week but those are gone -it does make you nervous doesn't it! Real interesting to hear the difference in experiences so far!

BBno4 · 28/07/2023 15:51

Is anyones urine bright yellow? I'm wondering if I'm not drinking enough or if its the vitamins.

Busylizzie85 · 28/07/2023 15:57

@BBno4 mine is also very yellow almost luminescent I thought it was the orange juice I have been drinking more of 😅

STH1988 · 28/07/2023 17:29

@BBno4 When i was taking B vitamins that happened to my urine! Apparently nothing to worry about but quite alarming when it's that bright 😂

FinallyMrsT · 28/07/2023 18:23

@LeopardLover Did you call epu yesterday?
Is yours only open weekdays?
Lots of hugs. I understand the anxiety must be awful over weekend. As symptoms allow try keep busy. Xx

ame88 · 28/07/2023 18:25

@LeopardLover I can totally imagine you must be counting the hours!
This stage of pregnancy is so hard!
I hope you've got some support xx

FinallyMrsT · 28/07/2023 18:26

@Scarletthoping ooo Good to know that about symptoms, I think?! Basically make the most of this week your telling me? 🙃🤣

LeopardLover · 28/07/2023 18:54

@FinallyMrsT @ame88 Thank you both ❤️ I called my GP yesterday and he put a referral in. I didn't expect a call back today! When the call came I hadn't had any more blood or cramping so I opted for a Monday scan over a Sunday one 🙃 (we're supposed to be away this weekend). The difference a few hours makes.

I'm more concerned about the painful cramping, I have a relatively high pain threshold so it's not causing me a big deal but emotionally it's concerning 😔

It doesn't help that my toddler is attached to me at the moment so I'm not getting a break - I can't go to the loo without a tantrum and tears (obviously he comes with me 😅). He won't let anyone do anything for him, so I'm feeling drained as it is! X

FiddleLeaf · 28/07/2023 22:35

I’m 5+5 today and feeling a bit strange. I’ve had so many symptoms up until today and now I feel completely normal. It’s disconcerting!

I was also stupid enough to do the Clearblue how many weeks test and it was 3+ but was 2-3 today. I’m a little worried. Our scan is with the ivf clinic on Wednesday. I hope all is well 🥹

elarcoiris · 29/07/2023 05:30

@BBno4 I’ve had this too and 99% sure it’s the pregnancy vitamins causing it as it’s generally at its most luminous shortly after taking them!

FinallyMrsT · 29/07/2023 06:22

@FiddleLeaf I'm similar. Symptoms all appear to have disappeared but I'm 5+2 however someone mentioned it's quite common and then they come back in a vengeance 6-7 weeks.
I wouldn't be stressing about line development. Your urine just might not have been concentrated enough. I've stopped testing. I still havnt had a very dark test, but I didn't even get bfp with my first until I was 5 days late. Even the gp was stumped

WAC1 · 29/07/2023 07:29

Good morning, has anyone else had crampy pains & soft stools in the morning? It's fine after I've gone but very uncomfortable. I wonder if it's the vitamins?
