@Flossiepot ftm here too and mostly it feels like my fat has been pushed upward so it looks bigger than it is ๐Ÿ˜‚

@Mushroo also with you on the complete lack of core strength, if I hold it in it's fine but it's easier just to not and then I look much bigger than I should be at this stage! Also noticing my legs getting more wobbly which I assume is additional fat that I really don't need! Must start doing some strength stuff regularly! Going to do that this morning ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Mushroo · 19/07/2023 09:10

@suz2285 100%! I started a pregnancy Pilates class last night so hoping that helps. I really enjoyed it and would recommend if anyone has any near them. Also nice to meet other pregnant ladies in real life.

suz2285 · 19/07/2023 09:11

@Mushroo I've got an app that I usually follow and they have a bump and baby section so I've been doing Pilates, yoga, strength etc from there but only when I feel like it ๐Ÿ˜‚ prob need to get into a proper routine to make any difference! Before this year I was in quite a good routine with regular workouts but now I'm lazy ๐Ÿ˜‚

Redpanda21 · 19/07/2023 09:13

@buckingmad good luck! I took a 2hr AAT exam when I was heavily pregnant. That was bad enough. Still doing it so will probably sit more exams this year.

@Mushroo Iโ€™m going back to dance fitness at the gym tonight. The instructor says to watch my core and pelvic floor. Told him it was my 4th baby and I donโ€™t have those anymore! ๐Ÿ˜‚

I thought I had a bump but it must've been super bloat because it's gone this week. Bit strange because with my older 3 I did have a noticeable bump by now but nothing this time ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ And I definitely don't have improved stomach muscles so it's unfortunately not that ๐Ÿ˜…

I can feel the top of my uterus when I lie down now though so it's popped up, just not out yet.

suz2285 · 19/07/2023 09:25

@PartRadish feeling my uterus is the weirdest feeling ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ who knew!

Mushroo · 19/07/2023 09:40

@Redpanda21 ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ totally valid. This is my first so no excuse!

EL27 · 19/07/2023 09:41

Sorry if this is a dumb question (blame the baby brain lol) but what is the maternity exception certificate I've only heard of the matb1 form, are they different?

Redpanda21 · 19/07/2023 10:01

@EL27 it allows you free prescriptions and basic dental care until baby is a year old x

@Flossiepot ftm here too and definitely noticed I'm getting rounder higher up. It does just look like I've eaten a Sunday dinner though, don't think anyone else would think it was a deffo preggo bump for me yet! Only 14+3 so hopefully pops a bit more in the next couple of weeks.

My jeans are uncomfortably tight now but maternity clothes still too big, was hoping I'd be able to just wear floaty dresses but UK weather clearly has other ideas!

I swim a few times a week which I've kept up so far but finding it makes me so so tired now. More tired than it did in the first trimester so don't know what's going on there! When is all this energy meant to come back again? ๐Ÿ˜‚

Inmydreams88 · 19/07/2023 11:27

I just had my 16 week midwife appointment, I didnโ€™t get to listen to the heartbeat. They said they do that at the next appointment.

sashastuck · 19/07/2023 11:44

@Flossiepot yep starting to show now too! When I told the rest of my colleagues yesterday and 2 of them said they thought I looked it ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ embracing it now though!

@buckingmad hope your exam went well xx

Flossiepot · 19/07/2023 11:51

Ahhh how lovely, I keep questioning whether mine is or not but hearing from you guys I'm saying it is ๐Ÿฅฐ

Bims2019 · 19/07/2023 12:01

Had my 16 week appointment this morning, it went really well! They did a urine dip test and blood pressure, then went through the results of the bloods from the booking appointment. I also got the whooping cough vaccine and got to listen to the heartbeat, which was nice and strong.

@Inmydreams88 the midwife said theirs was the only hospital in the trust that listen to the heartbeat, it's strange how they're different. Hope you get to hear at the next one!

EL27 · 19/07/2023 12:59

Ohh right thanks! maybe it's not as well known in Wales as we fortunately have free prescriptions as standard. I just heard need matb1 for work and dental care.

Mummyme87 · 19/07/2023 13:59

MatB1 is to claim maternity leave/pay, exemption is for prescriptions and nhs dental care. Although nhs dental is few and far between now!!

buckingmad · 19/07/2023 14:07

Thanks everyone. Went as well as I could have hoped and I managed to hold in my wee ๐Ÿ˜‚

Now an agonising 6 week wait for results ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„

Yes me! I think my skin has been really sensitive since I got pregnant!

Mushroo · 19/07/2023 14:47

@Luhou not to freak you out and itโ€™s probably not that, but if you have excessive itching it can indicate a condtion called ICP which needs medical attention.

Maybe call your midwife just in case

Kalodin · 19/07/2023 15:18

So grateful for a busy day of meetings to keep my mind off my Dating Scan this afternoon at 4.30! So so nervous for it.

Luhou · 19/07/2023 15:20

@Mushroo I did read that too, but then I also read that it can just be change in hormones and that that is only usually 3rd trimester. Was kind of hoping others were experiencing the same, to put me at ease. Maybe I'll contact my midwife.

Mushroo · 19/07/2023 15:35

@Luhou yeh youโ€™re almost definitely fine and itโ€™s just a pregnancy thing. Just wanted to flag in case you hadnโ€™t come across it :)

So many weird and wonderful pregnancy things to watch out for.

suz2285 · 19/07/2023 15:36

@Luhou I had itchy legs a few days, scratched a lot! But seemed to go away after that, I don't think you need to worry about it unless it continues/gets worse or goes on for ages... just keep an eye on it...

@Kalodin good luck for your scan x

RaspberryTime · 19/07/2023 15:46

@Luhou Iโ€™ve had the most unbearably itchy little toe for a week now. Sounds daft but my word is it annoying!!
