No boys names here. Like Olive for a girl

GBBC · 17/07/2023 15:26

Hi,
had my 12 week today, can not work out the nub at all can anyone help?!

Due January Part 4! ๐ŸŽ‰
Luhou · 17/07/2023 15:45

@GBBC not good at Nub theory, but based on skull theory I'd say girl

Hummusanddipdip · 17/07/2023 16:13

@karisa282 another saying contact the helpline, they're there to help.

Ohh@GBBC no idea on nubs, but I'm going boy, I got those feels

I can't wait for my 16 week to hear the heartbeat. Got to wait until start of August though. I'm 14 weeks today... times sped up since 10 weeks

The vastness of experience with feeding is a lot! On the formula thing, I'll have a bottle of ready made simply because with ds, dh had to do a 2am dash to tesco to get some as I ran out of milk in the fridge and my boobs decided they were going to give me less than 10ml in an hour. That was the moment I felt a failure, but I persevered and carried pumping for 5 more months.

I'm another that'll have whooping, again seen the horror of what it can do to a newborn, I just can't.

Any teachers or support staff telling classes before break up? I'm planning to tomorrow, but was asked outright by one of my year 6s if I am today ๐Ÿคฃ I told him it was all food!!!!!

PartRadish · 17/07/2023 16:42

Just had our first face to face in the preterm clinic. Cervical length was good today but they did say it was quite early (13+6) so not really indicative of anything, just gave them a baseline to go off.

Plan is to continue progesterone pessaries, start low dose aspirin and cervical length scans every 2 weeks. If it gets to 2.5cm or less they want to do a stitch.

Mummyme87 · 17/07/2023 16:49

Good you have a plan in place @PartRadish

@karisa282 Iโ€™m assuming youโ€™re under perinatal mental health already. Definitely call them for support.

my girls name is Edith, I love Esme and Rosalie also but probably as middle names. Boys names Im stuckโ€ฆ all. Very much maybes and possiblesโ€ฆ Wren, Ezra and Arlo

FirstT1meMum · 17/07/2023 17:52

@Hummusanddipdip not planning on telling class as I won't be teaching them next year and a letter has to go out first for us before we can say anything to the children! I can't wait to tell them in September though ๐Ÿฅฐ

Hummusanddipdip · 17/07/2023 18:35

Ahhh, I understand that @FirstT1meMum, obviously I won't have any of these children next year as they're off to secondary, but I've worked with most of them since year 1 and it feels a nice way to send them off?

LydiaWalker93 · 17/07/2023 18:39

I'm curious - what does everyone think we're having? Four weeks away from gender scan! (15th August is when we have the scan but doing a gender reveal barbecue with friends on 20th)

Due January Part 4! ๐ŸŽ‰
FirstT1meMum · 17/07/2023 18:53

@Hummusanddipdip ah yes I see! Aww yeah I'd definitely want to tell them then! Hope you're having a wonderful last week with them โค๏ธ

Salamander91 · 17/07/2023 18:56

I'll definitely be getting both vaccines. I had them with previous pregnancies with no issues. I get the flu one every year anyway with being diabetic.

I think we're fairly set on Mallory for a girl although I love Eden as well. For a boy, Jude is our favourite.

Hummusanddipdip · 17/07/2023 19:09

@LydiaWalker93 I think boy.

Ds has the only boys name dh and I could ever agree on and we never managed to agree on girls names while expecting.

We've agreed on a middle name for a girl Louise. It's both our mums, both sils (dh sis and my brothers partner) and my middle name, ds has Mark as his middle name after both our dad's.

We've discussed:
Scarlet, Evangeline (Evie), Victoria (Tori) Harriet (Harri) and Billie for a girl
Elliot, Eli and Sebastian for a boy

But honestly, none of those stand out...

LydiaWalker93 · 17/07/2023 19:09

@Hummusanddipdip Yeah I'm convinced I'm having a boy too! I don't know what it is.. I'm just convinced

buckingmad · 17/07/2023 19:15

I had all vaccines with my first and will do so again. Whooping cough didnโ€™t affect me at all but I felt awful wirh the flu one so maybe bear that in mine when planning when to have it done! I def wonโ€™t be having it done when DH is away with work, just in case I need to disappear to bed!

Dannic2018 · 17/07/2023 19:21

Love all the names youโ€™ve chosen ๐Ÿ˜. We have decided on names this weekend, as we have a Robin Alexander Iโ€™d like to have a boys name with same letters and after my dad died Iโ€™d like to tribute something to him too (he was called Raymond) So girl itโ€™ll be Rosie Rae and if itโ€™s a boy Rae โ€ฆ.. donโ€™t know yet so any suggestions would be lovely ๐Ÿ˜Š

sashastuck · 17/07/2023 19:53

Love all of those name suggestions, very cute! Love Clementine @buckingmad and Rosalie @Mummyme87 . Rosie Rae is adorable @Dannic2018

Iโ€™m stuck for girl names. We always loved Vienna until we looked up if it has any meaning and really it only translates to sausage in German ๐Ÿ˜‚ plus apparently Vienna is not a very nice place (I wouldnโ€™t know)โ€ฆ so weโ€™ve kind of forgotten about that one. Absolutely fell in love with Marley until the boy incident!!
Little boy will be called Koa.

@Hummusanddipdip I wonโ€™t be telling mine until September! I think Iโ€™m carrying my Year 1s up to Year 2 so it will be cute for them to know then. One has outright asked me too๐Ÿ˜‚

sashastuck · 17/07/2023 19:54

@Salamander91 love Eden

sashastuck · 17/07/2023 19:54

Sorry third post
No idea why I said โ€œboy incidentโ€ when I meant โ€œdog incidentโ€ ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿถ

Luhou · 17/07/2023 19:59

Nice to hear everybody's names. They're all really nice. I like either Matilda or Olive for a girl and I like Wilfred for a boy (wilf) but don't think DH very keen on any expect Olive. Anybody find their DH just comes up with the most ridiculous suggestions, not even convincied he lik3s them. I have an Ivy already.

Luhou · 17/07/2023 20:01

@buckingmad what about Vivenne as an alternative? Viv or Vivvy for short.

Mushroo · 17/07/2023 20:19

@Luhou Matilda is on our list and we also like:
Phoebe
Eliza
Emmeline
Francesca
Harriet
Ivy
Ava

(As you can see, very undecided ๐Ÿ˜‚)

Mummyme87 · 17/07/2023 20:20

I have a Sebastian Albie and a Zachary Austin already. They have no meaning in our family just totally random.

@sashastuck i really want to go to Vienna!! I heard itโ€™s an amazing place ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

for names I always say, you have to be confident and not embarrassed to shout it across a playground. Also for me I think about their future, could you have a Judge Chardonnay, or Judge Jezabelle ๐Ÿคช

sashastuck · 17/07/2023 20:24

@Mushroo Emmeline is lovely ๐Ÿฅบ

@Mummyme87 please go before Jan, if itโ€™s nice Iโ€™ll reconsider the name! ๐Ÿคฃ I think your boysโ€™ names are lovely x

Mummyme87 · 17/07/2023 20:28

@sashastuck I met a baby Vienna the other day actually

Mummyme87 · 17/07/2023 20:29

Also in other general news, I GOT TAYLOR SWIFT TICKETS!!!! 4hours on the the laptop, a lot of refreshing and perseverance, then I got the opportunity to sell my soul ๐Ÿ˜‚ Sooooooo excited
