@RG9895 oh this makes me feel so much better! And congrats on the promotion!

My results were 1 in 10,000 ๐Ÿ˜Š and Iโ€™m 33

Flossiepot · 13/07/2023 18:01

Has anyone else not had a 1 in for the results? I had my letter today which just says low risk but no figures at all

sashastuck · 13/07/2023 18:06

@Hummusanddipdip ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ youโ€™ve still gotta have fun!

Anyone suffering with constipationโ€ฆ my partners swears nettle tea makes him go pretty much on demand. I tried a cup yesterday and before Iโ€™d finished it, I needed to go! Worth a try!

sashastuck · 13/07/2023 18:11

Just looked at my results because I didnโ€™t really take it in. I got 1 in 10,000 for T21 and 1 in 20000 for T13/18. Iโ€™m 26. Sounds alright!

Sorry for not keeping up with everyoneโ€™s messages and replying - it is super nerve wracking to tell work thatโ€™s for sure! Congrats on the promotion @RG9895 and @buckingmad you did the bravest thing telling them after such a short time! X

Might be a bit stupid but what does it taste like? is it awful?

FirstT1meMum · 13/07/2023 19:45

@sashastuck I told everyone else at work on Monday after I had the screening results. I felt so awkward cause it just is not something that comes up in general staff room chatter ๐Ÿคฃ
I literally just waited for it to go quiet at break time and blurted it out! Thought it was now or never ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ They were all so lovely ๐Ÿ˜

Feeling very queasy tonight...think its a combination of end of year exhaustion and this terrible cold that I keep thinking I'm recovering from for it to hit me like a tonne of bricks!

RG9895 · 13/07/2023 21:06

@youaremysunshine03 I'm glad! thank you! โ˜บ๏ธ & thats good on your results!

@sashastuck those are good numbers! Im 25 and got 1 in 5000 for all 3 & thank you! โ˜บ๏ธ

Covid is hitting me hard today! Does anyone feel like paracetamol does absolutely nothing or is it just me ๐Ÿ˜‚ I don't think I'm going to bother with it anymore! I'm pretty certain we can't have anything else either can we?

Also we was planning to announce on socials this weekend but now I've got covid I'm a bit worried and was going to wait until my midwife appt on Monday so they can listen to the heart beat first. (Providing im well enough by then and testing neg!) am I crazy or would you guys wait too? Im praying and hoping everything is absolutely fine but its just made me a bit paranoid!

Mummyme87 · 13/07/2023 22:53

Iโ€™m totally public about it now. Told my boss at 7weeks as I really needed support in getting a lunch break, and now most people know.

Kalodin · 14/07/2023 05:50

I'm hiding mine for as long as possible, ideally I don't want to tell work until the 20 week scan!

Had our blood results back and we are having a baby boy! Looks like we only make boys here ๐Ÿ˜… 4th one! Absolutely clueless for names

sashastuck · 14/07/2023 06:08

@Kalodin aww congratulations on another baby boy! The pregnancy+ app has a list of 500 names for every country. Very useful for ideas ๐Ÿ˜‚

Kalodin · 14/07/2023 06:23

Thank you @sashastuck I'll check it out. Already exhausted the Kinder app, gone through all the boy names and haven't agreed on any with DH!

EL27 · 14/07/2023 06:36

Hi all sorry haven't posted in a while or caught up with this part 4 thread. Hope you are all doing ok! โค

Random one, I have had mild but sharp pulling pains on the sides of my abdomen. Mainly last night and this morning. It's not my lower stomach, feels so strange anyone know is this normal / pregnancy related?

suz2285 · 14/07/2023 06:58

@EL27 yeah I've had them all the way up the sides of my abdomen! Just everything expanding I believe!

Round ligament pain- completely normal as your uterus is growing โ˜บ๏ธ

Mummyme87 · 14/07/2023 09:09

@Kalodin congratulations on your baby boy โ™ฅ๏ธโ™ฅ๏ธ Iโ€™m expecting a 3rd boy hereโ€ฆ wonโ€™t find out until anomaly scan in September though. Although I think the nub looks girly but we will see.

off to Harrogate today for my sisters hen weekend. I wouldnโ€™t mind but Iโ€™ve organised it and itโ€™s stressing me out. Could do without it.

@EL27 sounds like normal round ligament pain. Pregnancy can be bloody painful, I always go through this with women at work, you are growing a whole human, who is pushing all your organs around your body, muscles/ligaments are stretching out to make space plus your uterus is one big muscle constantly pulling. Then it makes sense why it hurts ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Salamander91 · 14/07/2023 09:14

Congrats on your baby boy @Kalodin

My gender scan is in 8 days! I'm so excited to be able to say he or she and pick a name. DH and I finding out together at the scan and then my SIL is going to do a little gender reveal for the kids and rest of the family. My daughter loves watching gender reveal videos on tiktok lol so she's super excited! She's desperate for a sister though so I hope she doesn't take it too hard if it's a boy.

Gremlin84 · 14/07/2023 09:42

@EL27 yeah as others have said - ligament pain from everything growing and moving. I've had a particularly persistent twinge on the left side of my belly button that's the same thing (or button bruising from trying to wear jeans that are now too tight ๐Ÿ˜‚)

Lightningrain · 14/07/2023 09:49

For the first time in weeks I managed over 6 hours of sleep last night! Thereโ€™s no sign of the nighttime wee trips disappearing but itโ€™s an improvement on the 4-5 hours a night that Iโ€™ve existed on for the last few weeks.

Iโ€™m 15 weeks today. Iโ€™ve been doing research on what we need to buy and Iโ€™ve started having a look at names. DH is the type of person that goes along with everything I want to do in daily life but Iโ€™ve said he needs to come up with some names himself for us to consider rather than just going along with one that I like. I might live to regret that but Iโ€™d like to think heโ€™s had some input into the choice. Iโ€™m pretty sure our tastes wonโ€™t be vastly different!

Have anyone elseโ€™s OH been interested in names and shopping lists yet? Iโ€™ve kind of felt like it was too early until this week and the only reason Iโ€™m now being swept up in it is all the questions and advice from family and friends. Itโ€™s made me feel like I need to get started with everything.

Bims2019 · 14/07/2023 10:02

@Lightningrain DH and I have had lots of chats about names but none about shopping yet. Think we're both in denial about that at the moment ๐Ÿ˜‚ I've also felt like it's been too early, but we might start thinking about it and gathering some bits soon. Just don't want to be overwhelmed and feel that we have to do everything at once!

Also great news on the sleep! I feel more refreshed today after a better night's sleep for the first time in ages, it does make such a difference.

Lraine86 · 14/07/2023 10:07

@Lightningrain my other half chose the name if we have a boy and I have chosen the girl name. He also does his own research to the point Iโ€™ve also bought my own pregnancy book.

We havenโ€™t bought any baby stuff yet but we booked our ante natal classes as the one before us sold out. Weโ€™re concentrating on changing our cars to be more family friendly and rearranging bedroom furniture before we start with baby stuff.

Most people I know didnโ€™t buy baby stuff until the start of the third trimester.

MrsJ6921 · 14/07/2023 10:10

Me and DH chose our names before we even found out I was pregnant ๐Ÿ˜‚. It took us nearly 2 years to conceive so we had plenty of time to think about it! Iโ€™m also 15 weeks today and have mainly bought a few vests, a blanket etc but have also received some lovely gifts from friends.

We have our gender scan a week tomorrow so Iโ€™m looking forward to that! Weโ€™ve both said we will make a start on the big stuff come August and my DH cannot wait to decorate the nursery which just melts my heart (I think itโ€™s the hormones) ๐Ÿคฃ

LydiaWalker93 · 14/07/2023 10:54

@Lightningrain my OH has helped with names of baby but as for actually purchasing items, he said he doesn't want to get stuck in until he knows what we're having!

Our gender scan is the 15th August so not too long to wait!!

Lightningrain · 14/07/2023 11:11

A few already sorted with names then! We havenโ€™t wanted to get ahead of ourselves but weโ€™re being asked by family and friends so it feels like time to start properly thinking about things. Weโ€™ve decided weโ€™re not telling anyone else names that we like we need to get a shortlist so that we have plenty of time to think about it.

We also need to redecorate and rearrange the entire upstairs of our house plus other DIY so weโ€™re going to have plenty to get through in the next few months.

Weโ€™re going to leave the gender as a surprise so I think that will stop me from buying too many things before the babyโ€™s here. I donโ€™t plan on getting any big items until the third trimester but Iโ€™m sure Iโ€™ll end up picking up little bits in the meantime.

ThomasinaLivesHere · 14/07/2023 11:12

Weโ€™re having issues choosing names. Last time we already had names chosen by 12 weeks and that was when we didnโ€™t know the sex. I thought it would be easier narrowing it down but I think it would be easier if it was a girl as I like a lot of girl names but canโ€™t agree on any boy names with husband. My husband likes a name that I think will be a pain to spell and wonโ€™t travel so well internationally or even outside Scotland.

For buying things thereโ€™s not much we need as we saved our sonโ€™s smaller clothes, car seat and side cot etc. I think on the list will just be bottles and some nice newborn clothes - thereโ€™s a chance heโ€™ll be born before Christmas so I might get some cute themed clothes at that time. Also my son is a summer baby so I might need warmer clothes in smaller sizes.

TunnocksTCake · 14/07/2023 12:10

I had a great app last time called baby name- find it together which was the only way I could get dh interested in names. You both install the app and do it separately but they link up and you get a shortlist of matches. Made it fun like a game which I think os what appealed to dh! The icon is yellow and has an egg on it!
We haven't even started thinking about it yet, I don't see the point until after we know the sex as you can discount half the names at that point. We didn't actually pick dds until after she was born but had a shortlist.
If it's a girl we won't need to buy anything apart from some things for me, a decent sling and breast pump for starters!
