I'm really sorry @moosey89 I know the wait is going to be so tough but I hope things are busy for you this next week and the time goes in quickly 💗 xx

suz2285 · 30/06/2023 20:29

@Ladyinpink1 I'm 11 weeks today, scan next week 🤞🤞🤞

Ladyinpink1 · 30/06/2023 20:52

@suz2285 oh lovely, hope it comes round fast! Did you get an early scan or will this be the first?

I have started getting sharp regular cramps now, which in one way I feel is good as I remember getting alot of cramping with my first 2 dc but then at the same time i'm now thinking "are these the same type of cramps as before or are they different and somethings wrong" lol i can't win xo

suz2285 · 30/06/2023 21:20

@Ladyinpink1 I've had 2 😂 one at 6.5 and one at 9 weeks... honestly though it feels like ages ago since the 9 week scan!!

I had such bad cramps between week 3-6! As soon as conception happened I think, loads of cramps and a sore back! Still getting them on and off but only maybe one day a week now for a few hours... but still panics me every time! Def having pulling/stretching pains as well, mainly if I move or sneeze or something! And still having boob pain too....

Honestly you can't win, everything feels like it may or may not be something bad 🙈

Ladyinpink1 · 30/06/2023 21:45

@suz2285 That's good things have went well so far, i'm sure you can't wait.
Thanks always good knowing others have the same 🙂 x

Brokenpancreas94 · 30/06/2023 23:01

@tulipsunday I am so impatient and praying that everything goes well on Wednesday, I will probably be announcing the same day 😬😂 I'm 11 weeks today too! X

@Ladyinpink1 I feel on tenterhooks with every little pain or even if a symptom disappears/stops randomly every so often! I'm cramping a lot but it's all just gas and bloat still I think! X

tulipsunday · 01/07/2023 07:14

Exciting week ahead then for scans @suz2285 and @Brokenpancreas94 😁

@Brokenpancreas94 can’t believe your 12 weeks can is this week!!🙈 that seems to have come round really quick! Are you in the morning or afternoon? I hate the all day wait for a scan 🤦🏻‍♀️

Brokenpancreas94 · 01/07/2023 08:58

@ChloeN mines at 12:30 so not tooooo bad! So nervousssss

suz2285 · 01/07/2023 10:17

Mine is at 11.25 on Friday so similar! Eee!

I hope next week goes by quickly!

Rolled over in bed this morning and had a massive painful twinge in my stomach! 🙈 my poor muscles!

WhiteHorse92 · 01/07/2023 11:09

Woke up this morning with a UTI 🥴. Doesn't feel too bad, and when I've had them before, 9 times out of 10 they seem to disappear within 24 hours so hopefully it'll be gone by tomorrow 🤞. As long as it's gone by Friday, because I really don't want to be waiting for my scan with a full bladder with a UTI 😅. Currently swigging my way through plenty of glasses of water to try and flush it out so I don't end up having to go to doctor for antibiotics 🙄. Oh the joys of pregnancy!

ChloeN · 01/07/2023 11:55

@WhiteHorse92 I get like that too, I get the uti feelings soo often but then by the next day it’s gone again! I’ve actually got them less being pregnant which is weird!

@Brokenpancreas94 oh that’s a nice middle time 🤣 I’ll be thinking of you!

suz2285 · 01/07/2023 12:50

@WhiteHorse92 I've never had a uti but a couple of my previously pregnant pals have had them during pregnancy with no symptoms, I'm having a lot of bladder pressure when I need to pee so will be interested to see what my urine test says next week! 😂 might just be totally normal, I drink so much water and pee constantly anyway so maybe just my bladder being squashed!

Brokenpancreas94 · 01/07/2023 13:50

@WhiteHorse92 I had two lots of antibiotics in my MC pregnancy because I had A UTI that wouldn't budge! But I felt fine in myself from what I can remember!

@ChloeN thank you lovely xx

tulipsunday · 01/07/2023 19:57

Hope it sorts itself out @WhiteHorse92. Feel really guilty today as went to see a few friends and told them our news. We weren't to know that one couple there had had a recent miscarriage. Thankfully we had a good chat about it and I shared my experiences but still feel guilty as she said it is really hard to hear pregnancy announcements which I totally get 😞

Dunno if anyone else is having this experience - now I'm telling a few people (close family, a friend, two work people) it's making my anxiety ramp up again. It's like the more people who know the higher stakes it feels. My little cousins know now and are really excited, they will never understand if I have a miscarriage and it'll break their hearts.

tulipsunday · 03/07/2023 11:42

Yes definitely @WitcheryDivine we have had a sociable couple of weeks and ended up telling some family and friends. Don't necessarily regret telling them but at the same time do feel anxious about it. Quite glad rest of July is quite quiet so probably will have a bit of a break from telling people.

suz2285 · 03/07/2023 11:50

@WitcheryDivine totally understand! I don't even want to tell anyone else tbh! Only my mum and dad know so far, my scan is on Friday and I am so anxious and feeling sick about any issues already 🙈

Banbi · 03/07/2023 11:55

Hi all - hope it's ok to join. I'm 5+5 with an IVF pregnancy. Had my second miscarriage at end of April. Really glad to have found this thread. I've got a private scan booked for reassurance at 6+5 and then, all being well, my handover scan with the clinic at 8+1, when I'd get discharged to my GP and local midwife service. I'm currently feeling more symptomy than I have done with my previous pregnancies, but it's hard to stay positive. Wishing all those with scans this week the very best of luck x

WitcheryDivine · 03/07/2023 12:58

Best of luck for Friday @suz2285, I know how that feels but you should be fine.

@Banbi CONGRALATIONS that's great news, early days are so stressful but great you've got a scan lined up too.

Really struggling with this long gap between 12 week and 20 week scans - that's why I've been telling people as otherwise I just come across as an increasingly tired, cross, fat woman with no other things to "wait for" for nearly two months. Wondering whether to book a private scan at some point but it's so expensive and I'd need a lift to the scan place which all makes it seem a bit silly.

What sort of stage do first timers usually start to feel movement?

suz2285 · 03/07/2023 13:27

@WitcheryDivine thanks!

I believe it's more like 18/20 weeks for most first timers, so a while to go 😂 I've booked a private gender scan for 18 weeks when I'm home visiting my folks hoping they might want to come with me and see baby and learn the gender! Haven't told them yet tho (they know about baby but not about booking a gender scan) but I will after the scan goes ok on Friday!

But yeah I'm still super nervous about telling anyone else! I'm going to tell my work soon ish tho cos I want to be able to go for appointments etc without lying to them 😂

suz2285 · 03/07/2023 13:36

Welcome @Banbi everything crossed for you! The early weeks are for sure the worst!! Not too long until your first scan though 🤞 lots of us just nearing the end of the first trimester so we've all been there quite recently!

ChloeN · 03/07/2023 13:50

@WitcheryDivine I felt little movements from about 17/18 weeks but honestly I’m not exactly sure if it was the baby or not, they were really random! I felt first proper kicks at exactly 21 weeks and there was no mistaking those, I have an anterior placenta tho xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 03/07/2023 15:35

@WitcheryDivine with my daughter I felt little flutters around 13 weeks and then proper movement around 19-20 weeks! Depends on the positioning of the placenta xx

Hankthehonk · 03/07/2023 18:08

Does anyone know at what stage the sonographer should be able to see via an external ultrasound rather than a transvaginal one?
I am considering going for an early scan (I thought I didn't want one but I'm now wavering) - but I really want to avoid an internal scan.
I had internal early scans with both my daughter and my pregnancy that ended in miscarriage. Both times I had spotting - but in March that escalated to heavier bleeding then I miscarried a few days later. I KNOW that the scan didn't cause the miscarriage but they are inextricably linked in my mind and I couldn't cope with spotting this time. So I'd only want an external scan, or none at all.
I'm 6w1d now, both times before I've had scans around 7w and they had to be internal - so if I were to go at say 8w might that have a better chance of being external?
Even typing this out is convincing me not to go for one to be honest!
