My scan is tomorrow at 12 +5. Early at 9.40 so hoping parking isn’t an issue as will be a bit of a rush after the school and nursery run!
Also my 3 year old has a temperature this evening so I’m really hoping he’s ok for nursery in the morning!

@FirstT1meMum weight loss is very common in pregnancy and some women, Particularly raised bmi or gestational diabetics often weigh less at term than they did at booking

Oh I’d love to weigh less at term than booking in! I have put on so much weight each pregnancy and until now had managed to at least get my bmi to an acceptable level between babies. This time I didn’t so I really don’t have the wriggle room to gain weight again!

FirstT1meMum · 25/06/2023 21:47

@Mummyme87 thank you! Least I can try and stop worrying about that...no doubt it'll be instantly replaced by something else 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣

Nellynoo182 · 25/06/2023 22:04

Anyone else feel like they have a massive belly already?? For my first pregnancy I didn’t really show until 16 weeks. I’m 10 weeks today and look bigger than when I was 16 weeks! Only 7 months between the 2 pregnancies but I’m worried about how big I’m going to get…

Onedayatatime24 · 25/06/2023 22:37

@lilluce95 welcome and congrats! I've not heard anything about my bloods/urine from my booking appointment almost 3 weeks ago. I figured they'd call if anything was wrong so assuming all fine unless I'm told otherwise! I thought about ringing next week to check but I've got my 12 week scan on 4th July so may as well wait until then. But I'm sure if anything was wrong, they'd give you a ring.

Mummyme87 · 25/06/2023 22:55

@Panapan yeah I wish I would weigh less but alas I won’t 😑

@Onedayatatime24 my trust only contact you about results if an issue, otherwise results at next appt

ItsAJourney · 25/06/2023 23:03

@Mushroo @FirstT1meMum @Mummyme87 Thanks all, that’s really super helpful!

Niam4 · 26/06/2023 01:16

@Muriel84 they do risk assessments in my job yes but Iv not had mine yet as I haven’t told management. I was lucky to have holidays so was off for nearly four weeks until this set of nights. I have booking scan on 10th of July so will bring it up then.

11+1 today trying to hold out for that scan and not get another private one as I have already done three. It’s hard to rationalise with yourself in these times

buckingmad · 26/06/2023 04:57

@Panapan snap my 2 year old has been awake since 2 with a temp. She’s had this spot on her arm the last couple of days and now a new one on her wrist so wondering if it’s hand foot and mouth. Fantastic timing as I’m in my 2nd week in a new job, DH is away with work for the week and my MIL has my baby nephew over from overseas so I don’t want to drop her there and risk infecting him (although we’ve seen him every day this week so chances are the damage is done!).

Hopefully the spots are a red herring and it’s just a normal virus.

sashastuck · 26/06/2023 06:11

Best of luck and love to those of you having your 12 week scans today! Hope it goes well 😍

@buckingmad sorry your little one is unwell! Hope it’s nothing serious

1992H · 26/06/2023 06:28

@PartRadish mine is on 3rd & I’ll be going on my own, I’m just trying to rationalise it and see it as not being a big issue.
unfortunately it just doesn’t work for his work schedule & there’s no point trying to move it-I’ll Just never get in.

fingers crossed all goes well for yours & it doesn’t feel too odd going solo when it comes too the day xx

Kalodin · 26/06/2023 06:36

Best of luck for the scan today @Panapan And hope your 3 year old is okay this morning!

Your 2 year old too @buckingmad 🤞

I really want to book in a private scan, feels like forever until the Dating Scan, I'm only 8weeks + 4 days! Not sure I will persuade DH though on that.

suz2285 · 26/06/2023 06:58

@FirstT1meMum I've lost a few lbs but no idea how as I'm bloated and feel massive! 😂 but I've been eating way less - I wish I'd lost 5kg tbh but it's like not even 1kg at this point! But nothing to worry about it's quite common, I'm trying not to put On a lot as my bmi is very close to 30 so don't need to gain loads

@lilluce95 I've heard of people getting those results at their 16 week appointment, unless theres anything wrong you probably won't hear anything, likely the scan place will have no idea either as it's bloods that won't really affect the scan etc so they will probably do new bloods at the scan for their tests if you're having those

@Panapan good luck for scan! Parking is awful at ours and you end up having to park on the other side of the hospital usually! So leave plenty time

@Nellynoo182 is is just bloating? By the end of the day my actual stomach (high up not lower down) looks 9 months pregnant! But the actual uterus isn't much bigger yet! It sucks tho, I feel ok in the morning but by evening I'm quite uncomfortable!

@buckingmad hope your son is ok, chickenpox are doing the rounds up here too! Exciting about new job though!

Good luck to all having scans this week! Should be loads of scan pics soon ❤️

Thats it isn't it, it's just the way it is so thats that. I've actually just remembered he wasn't at at first child's dating scan either, I'd completely forgotten so it can't have been too big a deal!

Hope yours goes well too. I'm sure it'll be absolutely fine for us both x

lilluce95 · 26/06/2023 07:38

@Onedayatatime24 thank you and congrats to you too! 😊

That's reassuring thank you, assuming no news is good news then! Hope everything goes ok at your scan x

PartRadish · 26/06/2023 07:38

Good luck to those with scans today.

I'm 10+3 today and we have our NIPT scan/bloods at 6pm. The anxiety kicked in in full swing last night. My mmc was discovered at 13 weeks but baby stopped growing at 9+3 so that's playing on my mind. Plus I've really, really struggled with food the last week or two and only just about managed 1000 calories on some days and that's largely been made up of junk! Hoping it's true that baby will take all it needs from my stores and it's just me that'll be effected.

Just going to keep very busy today, concentrate on drinking as much water as possible (because I'm a pain to get blood from) and try to convince myself that worrying won't change the outcome. What will be, will be right?!

lilluce95 · 26/06/2023 07:38

@suz2285 ahh ok that makes sense, I won't worry about it then, thank you 😘

ThomasinaLivesHere · 26/06/2023 08:25

Good luck for those who have scans coming up.

It’s been a week since mine and not heard anything about the results with the blood. I do want to book NIPT soon but want to make sure results are ok and I’m not going to be offered the test on NHS. I might call them later in the week. No news usually means good news but I just want to make sure in case there’s been a delay with testing.

flowerpot258 · 26/06/2023 08:46

After my bleeding I contacted the EPU. They are sending me for a scan tomorrow which is a relief tbh. At least I'll get to double check that baby is okay and maybe see where or why the bleeding is happening

suz2285 · 26/06/2023 08:54

@ThomasinaLivesHere you'd hear quickly if an issue so probably all fine! Here it's 7-10 days I think you get a letter if everything low risk, my friend had a call within a few days when her bloods were out of the normal ranges and in for the nhs NIPT asap! So probably all good! 🤞

Mummyme87 · 26/06/2023 09:19

My nuchal scan is next week, 6th and combined bloods in this Thursday. Bit anxious about it, I know my risk from chromosomal abnormalities will be a lot higher this time as I’m 6years old than I was when pregnant with last baby, so I’m prepared for that.

felt really off this morning, like I could do with being sick. Trying to empty kids bowls in the food waste had me running to the toilet but settled by the time I got there.

off to the gym for a swim this morning. Haven’t been for over a week and had been keen to keep exercising this pregnancy.

Vikki7 · 26/06/2023 09:36

Off to scan today!

I'm so excited. I'm praying everything is ok. If it is, I'm planning on telling my kids tonight. My 4 year old won't understand but my 6 year old will.

Yesterday, I was able to take a nap and I woke up to a note from her saying "sorry you're not well Mama, God will make you better. I love you, here is a sandwich" and left food for me!

I can't wait to explain to her that I'm not poorly and show her the reasons for mama sleeping and having a swollen belly!

Mushroo · 26/06/2023 09:43

Good luck to everyone with scans today, thinking of you all!

suz2285 · 26/06/2023 10:17

@Vikki7 aww what a sweet note and sounds like she'll be super excited ❤️ so cute!

Good luck for the scan

ThomasinaLivesHere · 26/06/2023 10:23

@suz2285 thanks, hopefully that’s he case. Annoyingly I don’t think my trust send out letters. At least they didn’t when I had my son. I’ll just find out at the next appointment although I’ll phone to see if they’ll tell me.

@Vikki7 that’s sweet. It’s good having older children for this as they’ll understand. My son is just 2 so won’t understand. Hopefully he doesn’t get too freaked out with my stomach growing.
