@flowerpot258 me, everytime. It freaked me out so much I’ve just stopped having sex. Poor DH

flowerpot258 · 25/06/2023 08:24

@Mushroo - it's never happened with my other pregnancies (this is number 3 and my last!!) it's just weird. It's happened twice now after being intimate so I'm starting to think the same as you - no more sex haha

Mushroo · 25/06/2023 08:28

@Flossiepot my midwife said as long as it only happens after sex and it’s light it’s perfectly fine, so you can still do it, I just freak out!

My 12 week scan was all good though so definitely nothing to worry about

sashastuck · 25/06/2023 09:10

@flowerpot258 I has brown spotting once a couple of weeks ago, didn’t do it again since until today.

TMI but finally braved an orgasm again after the God-awful cramps… SUCCESS!😂

Hope everyone has a restful Sunday x

Dannic2018 · 25/06/2023 10:52

For the first time last night I actually felt in the mood for sex but we still had to stop ourselves as we have the scan tomorrow and I promised we’d wait until then. So hubby thinks he’s got his promise tomorrow night and you can guarantee I will just want to sleep 🤣🤣
what miscarriages does to you mentally really isn’t good. Stops excitement for the future and normal things you’d do, it’s the fear isn’t it

Kalodin · 25/06/2023 11:04

Yeah it's shit isn't it @Dannic2018 - we won't be buying anything for this baby until baby comes home. We do have essentials left from DS3 thankfully. But after having made up a whole nursery etc with DS2 and then he died at 5 days old, I just can't bare to buy anything or get anything ready.

Kalodin · 25/06/2023 11:07

Another interesting thought shared with DH last night was whether we would actually get a chance to use a labour bag this time too. Past 3 births I havent had one!

DS1 - wasn't packed! He surprised us at 37wks (being a FTM I thought I'd go over!)

DS2 - wanst packed again! He bloody surprised us at 28weks

DS3 - bag was packed from 20wks!! Didn't bloody use it as I drove myself to hospital when in labour at 28wks as covid meant I had no other way of getting there and I wasn't totally sure if I was in labour. DH was at home with the kids! By time I got to hospital I realised I definitely was in labour, barely managed to park and certainly didn't have the capacity to carry up bags by that point 😂

Dannic2018 · 25/06/2023 12:54

@Kalodin how heartbreaking for you all, I can’t totally understand
I don’t think you can fully relax and stop being anxious until they are in your arms
then it’s an anxious ride being a parent from then on out 🤣🤣

ThomasinaLivesHere · 25/06/2023 13:22

@Kalodin I’m so sorry you went through that. It’s so heartbreaking. I can understand not wanting to buy anything.

suz2285 · 25/06/2023 15:12

@Luhou I'm also really clicky, I've had previous issues with sciatica and my hips are never that great, but currently if I try to move/hold myself a certain way it seems like my hips are held on by elastic bands! My pubic bone and my hips deep inside have already been sore on and off 🙈 hormones indeed!!

@flowerpot258 it's happened once to us early on, panicked me! Now we're being careful and trying to stay away from the cervix but I'm definitely protecting myself every time and it's not exactly relaxing 😂

flowerpot258 · 25/06/2023 16:19

Thanks @suz2285 @@sashastuck - I am still bleeding a little and seems it's not just after sex. I called the maternity ward and they just said it's normal and quite common especially as its only when I wipe. I will have to just keep an eye on it but it is a bit worrying

suz2285 · 25/06/2023 16:32

@flowerpot258 sorry to hear that, how many weeks are you now? Any scans coming up? It's a worry anytime something weird is going on

FirstT1meMum · 25/06/2023 16:46

Is anyone else finding they're still losing weight? I've lost 5(ish)kg since my booking in appointment 2 and half weeks ago. I'm not sure if it's something I should be concerned about or not. I do have a raised bmi anyway, so I do have extra weight anyway. I'm just panicking about lots now as my 12-week scan is now only days away!

amynolan · 25/06/2023 17:01

Hi all, joining Mumsnet after a friend encouraged me to. Due January 2024 too 🥰

When my friend was pregnant she lost a lot of weight in the first trimester from sickness. Weight gain from baby isn’t really supposed to properly hit until the second trimester, so they weren’t worried about her. as long as you’re getting something in you, they care much more if you’re losing in second half of second trimester or third trimester from what she reported, as that will be affecting baby more.

Gremlin84 · 25/06/2023 17:43

Anyone else getting walloped by this heat? Despite drinking lots and staying in the cooler bits of the house I can’t function at all - just splooted on the sofa with a fuzzy head and sicky feeling.

Absolutely! It's so draining! I'm eating frozen peas daily 😂

FirstT1meMum · 25/06/2023 17:51

@Gremlin84 Thank you! The rational part of my brain thought that but the overthinking part is taking over currently 🤣 also feeling wiped by the heat! Got home Friday from work and had a two hour nap and napped this weekend, it's exhausting!

Mushroo · 25/06/2023 17:52

I just went out for lunch and had a lemon tart with raspberries on top for dessert. They tasted like alcohol but didn’t think much of it but just checked the menu and they were soaked in Campari!! Didn’t even think.

Itll be fine right? Obviously I won’t do it again!

flowerpot258 · 25/06/2023 18:23

@suz2285 - I'm 10 weeks today. I'll have my 12 week scan on the 10th July, so not too long to go. Hoping everything remains fine. Trying not to worry

suz2285 · 25/06/2023 18:27

@Mushroo it'll be totally fine don't worry! Sounds yummy tho!!

@flowerpot258 I'm just waiting anxiously for my 12 weeks too, mines on the 7th

PartRadish · 25/06/2023 20:21

Mines the 7th too @suz2285 Had an email Friday to let us know that our middle son's school are striking so I think I'll be going solo now!

Anyone else going/been to their dating scan alone? Logically I know it's not a big deal really and we're having our NIPT tomorrow so husband will have seen baby then but I feel like hormones are going to make cry when it actually comes to it 😅

Mummyme87 · 25/06/2023 20:44

@FirstT1meMum weight loss is very common in pregnancy and some women, Particularly raised bmi or gestational diabetics often weigh less at term than they did at booking

buckingmad · 25/06/2023 20:47

My 12 week scan is tomorrow at 11+4. Luckily 10:30 so I can have a bit of a lie in and drop toddler off at nursery a bit later and keep myself busy rather than wait nervously!

lilluce95 · 25/06/2023 21:00

Hey!! Just making myself known here ☺️ currently 9+4 with my first pregnancy and experiencing mild symptoms (just nausea, tiredness and sore boobs mainly!)

I had my bloods and urine done last week but I've not heard anything - is this normal? Do they upload it anywhere or just discuss in your appointments?

I'm super worried about my 12 week scan but I've not experienced anything abnormal to be worried about but the anxiety is real!!x
