Cloth nappies are lush!! I don't use them in the winter as I've no way to dry them. But I loved using them. They're so pretty and in the hot summer weather, they're lush for babies to just toddle about in.

Will be doing cloth again. Although nursery and my mum didn't support cloth so it's only on weekends we will be doing it this time as I'll be working full time.

Yeah @sashastuck Once the poos get more solid, tip it out and rinse before washing. But when the poo is still super loose, I just rinsed then washed.

LittleAlien24 · 23/06/2023 13:56

@Mushroo great news. I think as well it's a girl

We have to get everything for this baby except pram. I had bags of baby clothes and toys but when we moved to another country i had to get rid of them and at this point i thought we really don't need them because nothing had happened in the last 8 years but i refused to get rid of the pram because we both love it 😂
I was thinking of trying cloth nappies but im afraid im not able to clean them because i have really bad gag reflex 😏

I kinda feel like a human again, well nausea creeps back after lunch time but still half a day is better than nothing 😁
I've my screening scan on 3 july and should get the screening bloodtest results then as well.

Kalodin · 23/06/2023 13:57

Had phonecall with nurse practioner... why do they never think about what they're saying. She asked me to confirm how pregnancies I've had, so I answered "9" and to which she replies "woah, you must have your hands full! Hats off to you for having that many kids about".... I wish did. 💔 I've only 2 alive.

Not entirely sure why she even asked tbh.

Gremlin84 · 23/06/2023 13:59

@Outdamnspot23 first timer at 39 and hoping my sister can teach me what I need to know or give me stuff 😂 despite being two years younger she’s done the big life things before me - buying house, getting married, having baby. The benefits of having a “proper job” instead of academia! So I’ve always used her lists for organising and see no reason to stop now!

ThomasinaLivesHere · 23/06/2023 14:01

@Kalodin Im sorry. That was really thoughtless of her. You think she would realise asking about pregnancies is different from number of children you have.

Kalodin · 23/06/2023 14:07

You'd think so @ThomasinaLivesHere Given she works in the medical field, she must come across this. On the plus, she has prescribed me antisickness medication so hopefully that's the end of my sickness once I start that

youaremysunshine03 · 23/06/2023 14:11

Oh wow @Kalodin im so sorry, that was so insensitive and thoughtless of her. Also very sorry for your losses ❤️

Vikki7 · 23/06/2023 14:16

Congrats on your NIPT results @Mushroo ! I'm going with the majority and saying girl. I have no clue about the nub theory so I'm relying on everyone else to be correct! Haha!

It's a busy thread today, hard to keep up.

Sorry the nurse was so thoughtless today @Kalodin , I can imagine that bruised your heart.

I never got the hang of cloth nappies, we're still using pull ups for my 4y/o due to his disability so will stick with pampers for this one too.

I'm a little jealous of you first time Mamas! The excitement is on another level when you've not been here before. Just know that as soon as you fall in love with your baby, you'll know all the answers and find your way through! I thought I knew a lot about babies when I had my first after having 8 brothers and sisters but it's so different when baby is in your arms and you have the full weight of responsibility. It'll be amazing.

3 more days to go until my 12 week scan! C'mon Monday! I can't wait to see my boy again ☺️

Gremlin84 · 23/06/2023 14:43

@Vikki7 Excitement/fear...mostly interchangeable right now! 😂

Onedayatatime24 · 23/06/2023 15:32

First timer here too! First one in my friend group to get pregnant so I don't have many people irl to ask for tips! Will be asking alllll the questions when I come to buying things! 😂

It still doesn't feel real to me atm, I have so few symptoms I just don't feel pregnant at all (although happy not to be vomiting). Hoping I'll feel more excited and it'll all feel more real after my 12 week scan. I think I don't want to get too excited in case something's wrong too.

buckingmad · 23/06/2023 16:16

All those worried about being clueless and silly questions don’t be! Honestly you could read every book and do every course possible but you’ll still feel completely overwhelmed and panicked bringing them home! Just go with it and I promise within a few weeks you’ll feel a lot better. It’s more about learning about your own baby rather than babies in general. I knew whether my daughter was hungry, tired, windy etc from her cry or her face etc. but I had no idea with my friends and would have been useless if I’d had her for more than an hour.

ItsAJourney · 23/06/2023 16:45

Another first timer here too!

@Mushroo, congratulations! I’m also guessing girl too!

Buttonmoon86 · 23/06/2023 16:51

Thanks @buckingmad that’s reassuring and very helpful advice

@Mushroo im gonna go boy

This, definitely. Also, you have to re-learn with each baby as they are all different so even us crazy 4th timers are going to be fumbling in the dark a bit!

Dannic2018 · 23/06/2023 17:06

@Kalodin I had to go into detail with each pregnancy and loss at my midwife appointment and it brings it all back doesn’t it.
@Mushroo I’ll say girl as I have no clue ha ha

For those who aren’t on Facebook I had some blood on the applicator after doing the pessary this morning and a bit of a achy tummy so I’ve had a scan and thankfully baby is ‘alive’ as the consultant who scanned me said 😳I’m measuring ahead again, now 11w3 days and they think I just irritated my cervix. Tummy still a bit achy but he did say the uterus is rapidly growing and it’s my 6th pregnancy so might make a difference

FirstT1meMum · 23/06/2023 17:10

I have my 12 week scan next week (I'm a mixture of a bag of nerves and excited!)
Just wondering for those who did the combined screening how long did it take to get a low or high risk result?

So happy for you @Mushroo ! Can't wait to hear if its a little boy or girl 👶👶

Mushroo · 23/06/2023 17:23

@FirstT1meMum they said to me that bad news would be in within a week max, but results if good news could could take up to two weeks.

Seems a bit of an annoying system as they obviously know within a week! It might be different for other areas though

Mummyme87 · 23/06/2023 17:33

@FirstT1meMum we get our combined results at the scan as bloods are done at least a week prior. Not everywhere does that unfortunately.

sashastuck · 23/06/2023 17:39

Thank you @buckingmad - reassuring!! I’ve not started panicking yet but I know it’ll set in before I know it 😂 X

@FirstT1meMum I had mine done almost 2 weeks ago now, had them done a bit earlier as I was having some bloods done for genetic reasons too. Still haven’t heard anything but I think I read on here that my hospital give the results on the day of your 12 week scan. Maybe yours is similar? X

sashastuck · 23/06/2023 17:40

Beat me to it @Mummyme87 😅

lackingpatience · 23/06/2023 17:47

First timer here too. I’m 9w 5z

It’s a rollercoaster of yay I feel fine and then panic, and boo I feel sick, but yay symptoms 😅

I had bloods and urine taken at my booking in, and have had the results of that come through steadily. Have been identified as having rhesus negative blood so they’ve recommended antiD vaccinations for later in the pregnancy. It’s odd to have medical appointments for November already booked in, but also, when you’re watching every week I feel like time goes so slowly. Is this just me?

I’m scheduled to have my 12 week scan at a big London teaching hospital, and have been advised that we’ll get the results same day, which is one of the reasons I referred myself there. So far I’ve been really impressed with the service!

MustIthough · 23/06/2023 17:48

First timer here! 10w 2d. Had my nephews over last night and realization hit that our home is so not child friendly. Getting odd moments of panic that I really don’t have a clue how we’re going to manage.

Mummyme87 · 23/06/2023 18:42

@sashastuck the bloods are combined with scan findings, so you wouldn’t get them before the nuchal scan

Mushroo · 23/06/2023 19:00

I’m so impressed with everyone who guessed! She is in fact a GIRL!!

I’ve been convinced I was having a boy for weeks so I was so shocked when I got the results!

Feels a lot more real now!

Onedayatatime24 · 23/06/2023 19:03

Congrats @Mushroo! That's such sweet news, I bet it feels so real now you can picture them!

I was wondering the same @FirstT1meMum in my head I was counting down the days until our 12 week scan to tell everyone, then realised I'd probably have to wait a couple of weeks for the screening tests 😭 although I mostly just want everyone at work to know why I've been so stupid over the last couple of months. 😂
