On the cravings, I've not had any yet. Although I'm another that wanted salt, with ds, literally I just wanted salt, dh set me up a "tequila" shot station at one point with water 🤣 I lived off ready salted crisps and roast potatoes with gravy for a while.

With my first pregnancy I craved cheesestrings, at one point I was getting through the packs of 6 a day 🤦‍♀️haven't eaten one since

sashastuck · 21/06/2023 17:09

I’m another one with the salt cravings! I’m almost certain I’m not dehydrated though, I’ve been guzzling water like never before. Not into chocolate or sweets at all, but give me all the chips, cheese etc.

I had a cheese string / babybell craving too a few weeks ago @Hummusanddipdip ! Absolutely love that plastic cheese but always have😂

RootsHere · 21/06/2023 19:14

I had a proper craving for anything sour a few weeks ago, I was having a salad bag with just lemon juice on top all to myself just to satisfy the sourness need, followed by eating the rest of the lemon on its own 😂

Dancingqueen91 · 21/06/2023 19:34

12 week scan today all went well and baby was jumping around being wild hehe ❤️ anyone good at the nub theory and fancies a go?

@Dancingqueen91 I think girl 💗

sashastuck · 21/06/2023 20:20

Oh but now I just looked up the skull theory and baby’s forehead looks boyish!! Anyone else? 😂

Booklover88 · 21/06/2023 20:55

Hi all, also had my 12 week scan today and baby is looking good-very wriggly so took a while to get measurements but we’re due on New Year’s Day. Very excited!

The midwife mentioned I might need a cervical stitch due to having had LLETZ treatment for pre-cancerous cervical cells a few years ago. Was wondering if anyone else had had the same? Feeling a bit worried about it!

LittleAlien24 · 21/06/2023 21:24

@Booklover88 i had 2 LLETZ treatments years ago. Im 10w4d and My obstetrician has already measured my cervix twice and said so far it's going good and if it stays like this they might not have to give me stitches. And im quite worried about it.

Talking about cravings and food then i like more salty stuff than sweet. Used to love spicy food but can't eat it much now. Have to have fried egg with bread every morning 😁 used to love squash /cordial but can't stand it now drinking water instead that i used to hate lol

Mummyme87 · 21/06/2023 22:23

has anyone bought anything baby related yet?

I’ve picked up a couple of bits, well a couple of bits whilst ttc… I was manifesting big time! And couple of baby grows in the last few weeks 😬😬 bought some more cloth nappies that were half price in the brand I love which came today 🥰🥰🥰

Matildahoney · 21/06/2023 22:29

@Booklover88 I've been referred to the preterm birth clinic as I've had 3 lletz procedures. Telephone appointment on 4th July, day after my scan at 13+4!, then a face to face on 18th.

Morematchaplease · 22/06/2023 00:10

Hi & congratulations @Nellynoo182 in a similar position to you - due end of Jan & im 9 months post partum.

struggling to keep up with the posts here but reassuring to see I’m not the only one with a small gap

Kalodin · 22/06/2023 06:00

Not for the same reason as you @Booklover88 but yes I'm expecting to have a stitch as I've had 2 x 28 weekers and my first was bang on 37wks. Consultant said she's is likely to be putting it in at 14wks.

I was going to have one with previous baby but didn't as they gave my cervical scans instead. They said if my cervical length dropped below 2.4 then they'll stitch me but it never got that low

Kalodin · 22/06/2023 06:18

NGL struggle is real at the gym this morning. Having to adjust my usual work out to I'm using the machines rather than free weights as I feel so faint and nauseous 😭

Booklover88 · 22/06/2023 06:23

thanks to those who have replied-I think it caught me off guard a little bit! Will see what they say when I go for my referral. Baby is looking good which is the main thing!

cossie13 · 22/06/2023 06:44

@PartRadish yay! I don't know why I'm so excited having someone nearby 😅 both of my last 2 were Telford as I was under consultant care. All my main appointments were Shrewsbury though as that's where I live 🥰

PartRadish · 22/06/2023 06:47

I'm expecting a stitch too @Booklover88 for similar reasons to Kalodin. I almost had one last time but my antenatal care wasn't great and it was just left too late and baby arrived at 25 weeks. So hoping for a stitch sooner rather than later this time!

cossie13 · 22/06/2023 06:50

@buckingmad that's awesome 😂

I'm enjoying hearing your cravings! Interesting there's a few salty cravings going on! I wonder if that's why I'm wanting a ham and cheese toastie? They can get quite salty with the ham and the cheese can't they? Or am I being a bit dippy?

LittleAlien24 · 22/06/2023 08:30

@Mummyme87 i got few clothes and digged up some neutral stuff that i had left from my girls 😁 have few baby toys too. Today going to have a look at baby bouncer.

My older girl is away working with their father at the moment and she keeps asking when can she go and buy stuff for little alien 😁 she said most of her wages will be spend on baby stuff 😂

Nellynoo182 · 22/06/2023 08:33

@Morematchaplease yes it has been a huge shock! I have (finally!) come round to the idea now though and I am starting to feel excited. It’s not the thought of having another baby as such as we always wanted 2 close in age (but perhaps not this close!) 🤣 but just the idea of being pregnant again. Pregnancy was so rubbish for me last year and I was really looking forward to a year off but never mind. Hopefully get it all out of the way is what I keep telling myself! How are you feeling about it? I have heard lots of positive stories about it being easier once they get to 1 & 2 as they will play with each other… fingers crossed 😵‍💫 xxx

Nellynoo182 · 22/06/2023 08:37

@cossie13 i will also be at Telford based in Shrewsbury! How have you found them? My first baby was at Leeds and the care was amazing but I am starting to panic a bit about the Ockenden report etc etc

My last baby was also premature so I’m hoping for cervical length scans to check my cervix to see if I need a stitch. So far all my appointments have been cancelled so I haven’t received any reassurance but have been told I will be under a consultant. Makes me feel a bit nervous to the thought of having a stitch! @Booklover88 @PartRadish

Luhou · 22/06/2023 08:45

Not purchased anything yet, but then 2nd baby so we have most things we need. Will obviously buy some new bits but wating to find out gender.

My sickness has been pretty bad last few days. My cravings and aversions are different each day. I often find what is a craving one day is an aversion the next day. Yesterday really fancied a glass of milk. I've been enjoying sweets, usually love chocolate but can take it or leave it at the moment. I craved popcorn my last pregnancy.

Oh wow! Nice to have someone else from Shrewsbury on here 😃 honestly Telford are pretty good, I had my last 2 there. I had a few issues with my first but I think that's because it was my first and I was trusting them to tell me what my body was doing whereas now I know what feels normal and what doesn't do I can advocate for myself. When I had my 2nd I could not fault the care for even a minute. They were amazing. Still can't get over someone else being in Shrewsbury!!

Luhou · 22/06/2023 09:13

Anybody who has previously had an epidural experiencing pain around where needle went in now that they're pregnant again?

Kalodin · 22/06/2023 09:18

Yeah I've had a few @Luhou Really don't agree with me, found they've got worse each time so I'm requesting any other alternative (even GA) to another epidural. Why?

Kalodin · 22/06/2023 09:19

Ah wait, I've realised @Luhou That you mean you're experiencing pain now that you're pregnant!? I've not had that.

Just find them incredibly painful going in and for ages aftwards
