Thought I'd start a new one as the old one is full!

I'm 37w exactly and definitely starting to feel more Braxton Hicks (they woke me up last night) but they don't seem to be getting more intense/frequent. Also a bit of lower back ache and general bump tenderness, plus I think I've lost a small bit of my mucus plug. Think this is probably normal at this stage and just my body gearing up for labour but am quite nervous as have a c section at 38+3 and hoping to last till then! Second pregnancy but last baby arrived at 36w so feels like uncharted territory!

How is everyone else feeling?

Aww congratulations ❤️ she’s adorable 🥰 how are you feeling?

HasHus86 · 06/06/2023 22:21

Congratulations @DrinkingAllTheGin @firsttimelondonmummy and everyone else on your gorgeous babies! I hope you and baby are doing well ♥️ not long for the rest of us now either!

DrinkingAllTheGin · 06/06/2023 23:32

Not feeling too bad so far. Taking the pain killers when I can and she is feeding pretty well.
I need to get up and be mobile so catheter comes out soon so that will help.

tigerlily0 · 06/06/2023 23:43

Congratulations to the mummies who have had their babies! I'm 40+6 and got booked in for an induction at 7am in the morning. Been for a long walk, ate some more dates. And now I'm going to try and sleep. Have had a bit of brown mucus and tightenings all day. So anxious about the whole thing tmrw, never been induced before. But trying my best not to stress. So many brave strong mummies on here for inspiration x

Hlc86 · 07/06/2023 05:30

@DrinkingAllTheGin @Emotionalmama congratulations to you both, I hope you are both recovering well and all went smoothly?

I'm leaving soon to head to the hospital to have the c section, they have told me I'm on the morning list, I'm so nervous and hungry 😂

Dewintergarden · 07/06/2023 06:41

Morning all, baby girl was born yesterday at 4pm at 38w3d by ELCS weighing 6lb10oz. She is absolutely beautiful and looks just like her daddy. For those not harvesting colostrom baby found her way to my nipple, latched straight away and it came out with no problems. The pain is okay, I think like others have said take the medication, I'm finding it hard to get out of bed but I have managed twice so far and it's only been 14hrs post op. I didn't manage to sleep much, I'm really hoping I get to today.
Congratulations to all the new mamas as well:

Also, best of luck @Hlc86 you have got this!

DrinkingAllTheGin · 07/06/2023 07:14

@Hlc86 I have no regrets having a c-section. I was last on the morning list and was done by 1pm an walking by 5pm.
Catheter came out at 2am and normal bladder by 4am.

firsttimelondonmummy · 07/06/2023 08:17

Hi all!
Thank you for your well wishes 🙏🏻
It is looking like all being well we will go home tomorrow or Friday 🤞🏻
We are both doing well so far and just trying to establish our breast feeding journey a little more and keep an eye on his weight before release.

Oh my goodness !! Congratulations to everyone who has had their babies now, loving all the cute pictures 🥰

Woke up at 3.30 last night with period cramps but coming in intervals of 10 mins, took some paracetamol but just couldn't get back to sleep with them. So got up around 5am & had some breakfast. Went to the toilet and I think some of my plug came out , looked like lots of jelly discharge. The cramps seemed to have eased so I went back to bed and when I woke up they were completely gone?

Really thought that could have been the start of everything 😞!!! Anyone ever had similar??

Hannah310523 · 07/06/2023 11:06

@Belami Hi Belami, I started loosing my plug a couple weeks ago clear and jelly like, then lost bloody plug on Sunday morning. Since then jelly like again. I had period cramps through the night last night and awful back ache, took some paracetamol. It’s gone off completely this morning. I’m thinking any day now as I’m 41+1 and really don’t want to be induced, hoping to stay home as long as possible x

Hannah310523 · 07/06/2023 11:07

Congratulations everyone on their gorgeous babies 😍

Belami · 07/06/2023 11:16

Ahh bless you @Hannah310523 💕 it's so frustrating isn't it. I was so sure it must be the start of things but now it's stopped I'm wondering what the heck was all that about? Did you manage to get some sleep?

What I think was my plug was clear/yellowy, no blood. I'm the same, I really don't want to be induced. My trust like to induce at 41 weeks and I'm 39+5 now so not got long.

I'm glad I retold dh to go to work this morning as if not it would have been such a waste of his PL days 😩

Hannah310523 · 07/06/2023 12:15

Aww I’m sure baby will come soon, my hospital offered induction at 41 weeks but I told them I was keen for baby to come naturally and I’d like a water birth which can’t happen if you’re induced in my trust due to the monitoring. They said 41+6 is latest they consider safe. I’ve been doing a lot of reading up on due dates and 99% of babies are born without intervention before 42weeks so if you want to hold out for it that’s a good stat to keep in mind :).

tigerlily0 · 07/06/2023 13:49

I wanted to avoid induction too , everything was fine apart from baby growth tapering down slightly from 50th centile. I'm 41 weeks today and currently in induction! Had a sweep on Monday which was followed by brown discharge the day after. Was hoping to go into spontaneous Labour last night and nipple stimulation helped but I was in at 7am this morning and I didn't want to exhaust myself any further. Currently have had the first gel and now getting contractions.

Baby3herewego · 07/06/2023 14:04

All those who had elective sections, how close to the date date did you get a call with your time and go in to collect your anti sickness meds / carbohydrate drink?

My section is on the 19th but I’ve not have any other information.

Hannah310523 · 07/06/2023 14:11

The back pains have started again, my mum just told me all her contractions were in her back so I could well be in early labour 😁 fingers crossed!! X

Hannah310523 · 07/06/2023 14:12

@tigerlily0 hope you’re feeling okay you got this!! 💋

BobbySD345 · 07/06/2023 14:22

@Belami I have had this for days. The cramps last night kept me up most the night every 15 mins and I've lost so much mucus/jelly like goo in the last 2/3 days I'm surprised there's any left. I seem to lose a load after a long walk or period of time standing. Supposed being active is softening the cervix? I need to get a ball to bounce on. How many weeks are you now?

PurBal · 07/06/2023 14:29

@Belami yes, was convinced it was all starting on Friday and part (not all) of my plug came away last night. I was so disappointed. 39+2.

DrinkingAllTheGin · 07/06/2023 14:29

@Baby3herewego I didn't get either of those things prior to c-section.

Had a preoperative tge day before and was given 2 antacids and had a blood test. That's about it.

Baby3herewego · 07/06/2023 15:53

@DrinkingAllTheGin oh! Maybe it’ll be the same as you then. I’ve heard so many conflicting things. Guess I’ll have to wait and find out 😐

Hannah310523 · 07/06/2023 15:59

@BobbySD345 @Belami Are your cramps consistently the same pain or do they build up and then taper off? Mine at the moment are mild then get worse then stop, then start again in ten minutes. I think I might be in early labour now 👀

BobbySD345 · 07/06/2023 16:03

@Hannah310523 they build up and then I get the hard tight stomach across the belly button and then the tight uncomfortable feeling 60-90 seconds and it tapers off and then repeat every 10 mins but I've been having this for days and I convince myself they're getting stronger and I start using the contractions app and then 2 hours later they stop or become less frequent.

Belami · 07/06/2023 16:27

@PurBal @BobbySD345 @Hannah310523 hope yours are all making more progress than mine. Mine totally stopped now 😩mine were like what you're describing @Hannah310523 but this morning
