Thought I'd start a new one as the old one is full!

I'm 37w exactly and definitely starting to feel more Braxton Hicks (they woke me up last night) but they don't seem to be getting more intense/frequent. Also a bit of lower back ache and general bump tenderness, plus I think I've lost a small bit of my mucus plug. Think this is probably normal at this stage and just my body gearing up for labour but am quite nervous as have a c section at 38+3 and hoping to last till then! Second pregnancy but last baby arrived at 36w so feels like uncharted territory!

How is everyone else feeling?

@Hlc86 I'm really surprised your trust would continue with the csection as it could lead to sepsis if you had mrsa.

Hlc86 · 04/06/2023 21:17

@Dewintergarden I seem to always get told conflicting things in my trust, none of them seem to be on the same page, midwife says one thing, consultant says another etc. They also kept saying "oh you are having a c section cause she's breech, we don't usually do that till 39 weeks" and I have to say if you read my notes you will see its cause she is "apparently to small" and hasn't grown since 34 weeks, then they will say "oh yes I see". so I take anything they say with a pinch of salt, but I'm sure your swabs will come back negative so try not to worry x

Dewintergarden · 04/06/2023 21:39

@Hlc86 I agree, it's like they don't fully read your notes before making comments. I spoke to my MW over a month ago and she never mentioned about mrsa or asked if I had, had it previously, she asked about lots of other medical history but not that.
Thank you, I've really psyched myself up mentally that I'm having her on Tuesday and family have taken time off work to support me and can't change their dates now.
I really hope everything goes well for your c-section as well and that you have a supportive and well informed team when the time comes.

Hlc86 · 04/06/2023 21:51

@Dewintergarden yeah they really don't, and none of them communicate with each other either.

But I'm sure your swabs will come back negative and you will have little one in your arms on Tuesday, you will have to keep us updated when you feel up to it 😊

Thank you, I'm hoping on the day I've got a good surgeon 😅, I think my partner is more nervous than me atm, it's the recovery I'm not looking forward to but having baby in my arms will make it all worth while

Whentwobecomesthree · 04/06/2023 21:57

Hi all, I had my elective c section last Wednesday. The pre op the morning before. I was second on the list but my mrsa results weren't back so I kept getting moved further down the list but they told me all it means is they clean the theatre differently post op to minimise the risk to other woman. Eventually had it at 5pm, still none the wiser if my mrsa results came back positive, negative or didn't come back at all.

Dewintergarden · 05/06/2023 09:37

@Hlc86 so happy my MRSA result came back negative so tomorrow should be all good to go! I'm sure you will have a great surgeon on the day, my DP is so chilled it's unbelievable, I wish he was a bit more serious about things. Although, I do think you need one person who is more chilled to calm the more anxious partner as well.
@DrinkingAllTheGin good luck for your pre-op today!
@Whentwobecomesthree that is really interesting to hear, it isn't a prerequisite to have the mrsa swab anymore so perhaps that's why. Glad to hear you managed to have your c-section.

Hlc86 · 05/06/2023 09:41

@Dewintergarden so glad it came back negative and you can try and relax a abit today before you have to go in tomorrow

@Whentwobecomesthree how did everything go? How is the recovery going etc? That's the bit I'm dreading most

Emotionalmama · 05/06/2023 10:01

Waters broke this morning at 38+1! Was in hospital yesterday for reduced movements and was sent home and felt like I was dripping a little and I was right. It’s amazing how you know your own body. Was booked in for elective section next Monday but getting taken down here in the afternoon. So excited to meet the wee man!

Belami · 05/06/2023 11:10

Yay that's so exciting @Emotionalmama !!! Wishing you all the best 💕

39 + 3 today and I'm absolutely shattered 😴

DrinkingAllTheGin · 05/06/2023 11:59

@Dewintergarden that is good news.

I think my body is getting ready to kick baby out. Just had D&V and really struggled to sleep last night. I'm 39 exactly today and can bearly walk, which made getting to the loo a challenge!

tigerlily0 · 05/06/2023 13:51

Iv been feeling reduced movements today, first time really. I'm 40+5 now and iv been trying to call Triage - 168 times according to my call logs. And it's just going busy. Then iv tried community midwives office. That is also going busy. Not sure what to do, as I'm typing this baby is moving but super slow and not like normal and it has been a couple of hours. Feeling so anxious right now

Hlc86 · 05/06/2023 14:20

@tigerlily0 can you make your way up to hospital, I think they would want you to go in, have you tried all the usaul things to get baby moving etc? Or ring 111 see what they advise if you explain how you can't get through to the midwives etc

BobbySD345 · 05/06/2023 14:52

@tigerlily0 Hopefully you've got through by the time you read this but if not, just turn up at triage. That's what they say on the auto thing on our triage because they never pick up the phone. They basically say if its an emergency to present at the desk if they're not answering the phone. Hope all is well ❤️

Whentwobecomesthree · 05/06/2023 16:56

@Hlc86
Everything went smoothly with the section. Was a bit nauseous and vomity after but they got it under control quickly. Left hospital exactly 23 hours later.

Recovery is going well. Haven't needed more than paracetamol at any stage. 5 days in now and I'm out and about doing things. Hadn't really appreciated how hard it was going to be not lifting things for 6 weeks though. And I'm exhausted. I have an adorable baby that does not like to sleep on his back. A lot of long nights with little sleep.

Hlc86 · 05/06/2023 17:09

@Whentwobecomesthree oh that is a relief to hear thank you and I'm so pleased your recovery is going well and hopefully baby will start enjoying some sleep 😅 thank you for replying xx

DrinkingAllTheGin · 05/06/2023 17:15

Pre op all done. Had some reduced movement today so they popped me on the monitor. Now just having a slushy drink and heading home for a Thai takeaway and then a sleepless night!

tigerlily0 · 05/06/2023 18:33

@Hlc86 @BobbySD345 yea thanks I managed to get thru and they called me in. Baby was absolutely fine on the monitor, still not as many movements as usual but they were fine with it. With me being over and possible drop in growth they discussed induction. I had an examination and a sweep. I hate sweeps so much but I braved it, now I'm bleeding but not from my cervix but from where she was rough with me and it's now sore on my skin.

UGH1 · 05/06/2023 18:54

Hi everyone,

I an 40+2 and getting anxious. Anyone know if it's still likely I will go into labour without intervention?

spainland · 05/06/2023 19:56

Hi everyone,

I an 40+2 and getting anxious. Anyone know if it's still likely I will go into labour without intervention?

I'm exactly the same, 40+2 today.

There's still plenty of time to go into natural labour.

Where I am they book inductions at 40+7 but you can decline/discuss options.

This is my third and I've always gone over but managed to avoid induction.

BobbySD345 · 05/06/2023 22:09

37 + 2 here and getting a lot of twinges and pains. Had pains and tighrening every 15 mins last night for 2 hours and then every 10 mins. Dropped off to sleep and woke up 3 hours later and they'd stopped. Today mainly just tired and braxton hicks. Upset stomach. Tonight I've got pains again. I don't know if it's hicks plus wind because I'm on iron so I can be quite bloated and constipated. Tempted to order a ball on Amazon next day to try and get me started.
Also tempted to try the raspberry leaf tea. I know I'm only 37 but I am uncomfortable and I've got all the signs she might be on her way.
For those of you at 40 plus weeks kudos to you 👏 🙌🏻

DrinkingAllTheGin · 05/06/2023 22:17

I am feeling the most uncomfortable of my whole pregnancy today. I've just had a bath, which usually helps but not tonight.
But, its the big day tomorrow!

BobbySD345 · 05/06/2023 22:24

@DrinkingAllTheGin Hope you manage to get some sleep !! X

Belami · 05/06/2023 22:45

@DrinkingAllTheGin eeeek, all the best for tomorrow!! How exciting. Have to say I'm a little envious of everyone who knows what day they'll be having their baby. It's really frustrating knowing he could come any day this week or next 😅

firsttimelondonmummy · 06/06/2023 04:03

My whole world Elio born on 5/6/23 at 10.02pm weighing 5lb 1oz at 37+4.
Had the most amazing birthing experience came in 12 hours via induction, no perineal tear and only pushed for 10 minutes.
He is in the 2nd centile so we were right to get him out and are having some extra care this evening but he’s doing really well and already latching like a pro.

Thank you for tagging me !!! I gave birth on the 26th of May - same day labour started waters breaking and a spontaneous birth as they say . Unfortunately baby was suspected that she had strep B and we stayed in hospital for a few days - back home now . However baby is having difficulties with digesting milk so I’m not sure if she has an allergy and I am not sure how to tackle it . ( After every feed , she vomits or has an explosion in her nappy ) 111 said we need to take her to the doctors - but we can’t register till she has a birth certificate which has been scheduled for the earliest time in our borough for the 11th of June .

Here is a pic of Sarah ( 7lbs)
