Thought I'd start a new one as the old one is full!

I'm 37w exactly and definitely starting to feel more Braxton Hicks (they woke me up last night) but they don't seem to be getting more intense/frequent. Also a bit of lower back ache and general bump tenderness, plus I think I've lost a small bit of my mucus plug. Think this is probably normal at this stage and just my body gearing up for labour but am quite nervous as have a c section at 38+3 and hoping to last till then! Second pregnancy but last baby arrived at 36w so feels like uncharted territory!

How is everyone else feeling?

@BellaTheDarkOverlord well this lovely giggle goodness just came out…. Bit TMI but it’s huge.

PurBal · 16/06/2023 15:18

@Baby3herewego 40+4. I found out my trust now induce at 40+7 rather than 40+12 (as with DC1) which feels really early. DC1 was born at 40+8 so I don’t feel medical induction is necessarily the right route. Booked in for Monday if nothing happens this weekend… we will see.

Baby3herewego · 16/06/2023 15:27

@PurBal Fingers crossed for you!!

toomanysausages · 16/06/2023 15:31

@Whentwobecomesthree mine stopped last night. Scared of taking anything with codeiene in incase it was that making the itching worse.

@Hlc86 gosh you are sound like a very busy lady! 🤣 Aww bless her, that sounds like loads! DD was snacking here and there so but 2 days old now and has taken a 25ml then just shy of 45 ml for her last feed! Midwife said that her appetite will grow as her tummy gets bigger so this makes sense (I hope)! She doesn't have much of a routine just yet.

@BobbySD345 Thank you! How are you both doing today? I think DD may have a touch do jaundice. I'm mixed race and dad is white so I thought maybe she was turning more olive skinned but my Mum pointed out that she was starting to look a bit jaundice ... will discuss with midwife when she gets here

@BellaTheDarkOverlord &
@firsttimelondonmummy fab faces 🤣 DD has started to pull some good ones but haven't managed to catch it on camera!

@Baby3herewego I was only 1cm dilated with terrible pains after losing plug. No change in dilation 24 hours later and had lost more plug! Which I'd kept a photo of mine!

Fingers crossed for this weekend @PurBal

Baby3herewego · 16/06/2023 15:56

@toomanysausages I’m hoping some decent contractors start as they will admit me and I can get my c section sooner.

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 16/06/2023 17:38

@Baby3herewego Just don't mistake them for Braxton Hicks like I did 😅goodluck!!

Poor DD has tummy ache and loose poo. She's now on cow and gate instead of the medical formula and it's upsetting her tummy. She was very unsettled today poor thing. Finally got her settled asleep but she's was so upset.

Baby3herewego · 17/06/2023 08:55

Had a pop and bloods dripping down my legs at 3am. Been on the monitors for 4 hours. Also checked to see if waters have gone which they ‘might have’ Labour is officially underway. Just waiting for a slot for section but little man should be here in the next few hours.

Jaystarlight · 17/06/2023 09:01

Just want to say GOOD LUCK to everyone in this thread! I am not due until February and suffering so bad with nausea would do anything to be swapping with one of you ladies!! So exciting for you all xxx

PurBal · 17/06/2023 10:30

@Baby3herewego hooray! Sounds like your waters have gone to me. I’ve just had a second sweep and I’m cramping like a bitch. She really gave me a good go. Really want something to start, I’m so impatient and DH is even worse.

justbelieve · 17/06/2023 11:33

I had my sweep on Thursday but cervix was posterior and only open on the outside so she could fit a fingertip in. I’ve been losing my plug gradually ever since though, so hopefully it’s doing something

Had some cramping this morning, but that’s gone now. Booked for an induction tomorrow, but still hoping labour will start on its own before then

firsttimelondonmummy · 17/06/2023 13:43

@toomanysausages my partner is Italian, Jamaican, Irish and has a very olive skin tone.
They kept thinking my little Elio was jaundice (he has had so many tests I’ve lost count lol) but he every one he has been way below the line and so now they are just convinced it’s daddy’s skin tone

PurBal · 17/06/2023 14:24

I want to cry, had another sweep this morning, she really went for it and I had to lie down afterwards. Had some bright red blood and some “fleshy” material come away (like a good 4cm strip). Hospital don’t seem overly worried to be fair but all 3 midwives I’ve spoken to have said “I’ve never heard of that”. So I’m going in for peace of mind. Or I would be except the water board have blocked our drive, works they didn’t tell us they were doing, and we can’t get out until they’ve finished. Hospital is an hour away and I’m so stressed.

justbelieve · 17/06/2023 21:59

@PurBal how are you doing now? Hope you managed to get some peace of mind x

PurBal · 17/06/2023 22:38

@justbelieve no one knew what it was but they thought my waters had gone due to the consistency of the blood, did the test and it was indeed my hind waters. Because they didn’t know when it had happened they said I needed an urgent induction… except they didn’t have the staff. No additional monitoring the entire time I was in delivery, gave me a room and everything… and then sent home 6 hours later. Now at home hoping for a few hours sleep and expecting a call in the early hours.

C1umsyGiraffe · 17/06/2023 22:48

I'm so sorry @PurBal that sounds so stressful!!

Quick colostrum question, I've been collecting but have run out of syringes. I brought a bunch from Amazon so I don't want to buy more as we have loads in the freezer and we won't use anymore! But just wondering if now that I've started I should carry on? Or is it okay to stop now? Not sure if it'll affect supply or anything!

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 18/06/2023 17:52

@PurBal Sounds so stressful x hope it all goes ok soon.

@firsttimelondonmummy Hospital kept thinking DD was jaundiced. They ran quite a few tests towards end of her stay but all fine. It's just her gingerness that is causing her complexion.

@C1umsyGiraffe Not sure tbh. I kept going with colostrum but my milk never came in so stopped after 3 weeks.

Just wondering if anyone has bought a cot mobile yet? DD 11 weeks is finally starting to focus on us a bit I think and I'm wanting to get a cot mobile for her next 2 me crib so she can practice with it. Might help her sleep at night too as she's now refusing to settle during night. Anyone any recommendations please? I just want one that'll fit the next 2 me cribs.

PurBal · 18/06/2023 22:58

@BellaTheDarkOverlord @justbelieve @C1umsyGiraffe he arrived!!!! Induction at 40+6 started at 630 by breaking the rest of my waters, didn’t get going so ended up on drip about 10am. Wanted epidural at 3. Put in at 4pm but it failed and they couldn’t fix it in time. Gas and air made me queasy so I birthed without pain relief at 615. 10lb9 (the largest baby my midwife had delivered vaginally) and a head circumference that’s literally off the chart. But, feeling so thrilled I did it. Baby latching well and very content. None of the clothes we brought to the hospital fit properly and even the nappies are on the cusp of being too small: the midwives are calling him “the little toddler”.

dresslol · 19/06/2023 07:40

@PurBal congratulations! You’re amazing, how are you feeling? Wishing you and baby all the best.
im
41 + 3 today and beginning to think my baby might be massive by now too! I bought her an expensive newborn onesie and I have a feeling she’s not going to fit it.
hope everyone who’s still pregnant is managing in the heat and I love all the gorgeous baby photos. X

Ally1992 · 19/06/2023 07:51

Congratulations @PurBal 10lbs without pain relief that’s amazing! 😊

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 19/06/2023 09:15

@PurBal Thanks and congrats!! That's an amazing size without pain relief! Hope you're doing well x

Hlc86 · 19/06/2023 10:56

@PurBal wow well done that's amazing! How are you feeling?

Congratulations to everyone who has had their babies, seems like yesterday we all found out we were expecting 😍

Got little one weighed today she's now 5lb 15oz she's doing amazing and been an absolute dream so far

Kelvie103 · 19/06/2023 11:34

@PurBal wow congratulations! That sounds amazing you did all that without pain relief! Hope you're recovering well.

5 days until my induction at 40 weeks and still no signs of anything happening so glad I have it booked in or I'd be stressing by now. Not looking forward to being in hospital though especially with it due to get even hotter next week.

DrinkingAllTheGin · 19/06/2023 12:01

DD is growing so fast. 2 weeks old tomorrow and I've just had to box up all the newborn sleep suits as her legs are too long for them!
We have also just booked to register her on Friday. Thankfully we can walk to the office as I'm 4 weeks from driving.

ScrantonDunderMifflin · 19/06/2023 18:07

Almost 39 weeks, feeling some period cramping today and hoping that it's the beginning of something 🤞Not given birth before so can't recognise the signs!
Congratulations everyone who welcomed their babies recently 🥰
