@PilarG it’s natural to worry but just remember some places will only suggest further testing if your risk is 1/250 or greater so you’re still comparatively low risk. 🙂

Cegbee · 24/05/2023 18:16

@Psqueak87 I'm in Vancouver. Love the rockies but not sure I'd cope with long drives right now either!

That's is a lot of appointments! I've had one official scan, one unofficial and 1 OB appointment, my appt's at the mo are 4 weeks apart and I assume that will increase in frequency as I progress. Obviously a lot of variation depending on where you are.

spanglesj · 24/05/2023 18:18

Hey @PilarG sorry you’re feeling a little worried. I thought they only investigate anything under 1/150. Mine was 1/1000 so still a lot higher than other results I’m seeing on here. Are you with NHS? wondering now if I should ask about the next blood test if they have recommended it to you. Remember your result is still minuscule. Similar journey to you here. hope you’re ok!

Wow people lots of chats today! Xx

Hiya!

I commented on the last thread but was too nervous to post properly, however I had my scan last Thursday and all looking good at 12+5! So I think I can finally have a bit of optimism and join in Smile

How is everyone doing nausea wise? I’m 14 weeks and my nausea has been a lot more bearable, if not entirely gone, the last week or so. However, the last couple of days I’ve had more of a bloated/over-full feeling in my stomach which has been quite unpleasant 😢

I'm 13+3 now and feel exactly like this. My sickness is waning but I feel full up to my armpits! It's horrible.

spanglesj · 24/05/2023 19:23

@Rebs2 hi 👋 nice when you feel you can join isnt it. :)

@LeeanneD11 what kind of twinges? I have had all sorts so I am sure it is ok. From period like pains to shooting pains. At 16 wks I am not feeling a lot not tbh. Hoping everything is ok as sickness going too, but it’s the right time for it to go I keep telling myself!!

@Katiec1 exciting evening for you!!

@Spareincoming hope you’re ok xx

spanglesj · 24/05/2023 19:25

For what it’s worth for those finding bloating tough my bloating started to ease around 15-16 wks. Anyone else found this?

It was more like a sensation feeling but defo twinges lol 😂 I'm hoping the bloating eases soon and get a full bump , but I don't feel like I have bloating as much as it's an actual bump now as doesn't change much in the morning or evening xx

Katiec1 · 24/05/2023 20:12

@spanglesj very exciting! Another little girl to join our family! 4th daughter coming in November, sounds crazy even saying it🙈 my poor husband 😂😂

Mrsrobinsonx · 24/05/2023 20:33

yay thread 4! just commenting to join.
I am 15 weeks tomorrow, starting to feel little ‘movements’ now, ever so slightly so that’s exciting 😁
I haven’t felt very ill at all this pregnancy so it’s very different from my other 2, however have been getting more headaches since the second trimester started and only a small ish bump still. Feeling so grateful☺️

Mldn · 24/05/2023 21:21

@spanglesj same here - I’m 17 weeks tomorrow & my insane bloated eased off about two weeks ago & turned into a hard little low bump almost over night! Still slightly bloated in the evenings but nothing compared to how it was before x

Rebs23 · 24/05/2023 22:37

@Psqueak87 @TMI2000 @MooseWL ahh thank you for your guesses! I’ve got myself convinced it’s a boy due to my minimal nausea (count myself lucky every day!) so this is very interesting!

@MooseWL i was 14w2d, I had an extra scan with a consultant who then Signed me off for midwife led ☺️

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 24/05/2023 23:31

Anyone else having back/butt problems? Normally active, but sickness means I've not done much. I lifted a chair at work today (not a big office chair or anything, just little wooden chair) and I have pain in my lower back and right buttock and I'm walking with a limp! I hope it feels better tomorrow.

Normally I'd carry a stack of 4 of the fuckers and I lifted them properly!

Cm078 · 25/05/2023 02:05

Hello, can I join? 😊
Due 1st November, baby girl. Already have a DS aged 3. He's so excited bless him.

Hey everyone, went for quad test yesterday, hoping i get a letter rather than phone call! midwife asked did i have my16 week community midwife appointment yet, i said no, she went out and checked and its8th june, said they posted letter to me but i never got it, thankfully i was at the quad test or i would never have known about it.

Anyone thinking of getting a scan between now and 20 weeks scan? i just worry is everything ok, between 13 weeks and 20 seems an awful long time to go without knowing baby has a heartbeat and is ok, thoughts?

TMI2000 · 25/05/2023 09:49

@38andtrying What is a quad test? Sorry this is the further I've ever gotten in pregnancy, second pregnancy, first baby so I am absolutely clueless!

I have booked a private 16 weeks scan personally, partly because I didn't want to wait until 20 weeks to find out the gender but also like you, I am 14+3 now and feels wayyyy too long to wait until 20 weeks!

38andtrying · 25/05/2023 10:05

The quad test is for checking probability of down syndrome etc, in the north of ireland we don't get testing as standard, so no NT scan which is super annoying, i thought i was getting an NT like everyone was talking about but they explained at the appointment they dont do it here. That you can get a quad test between 15-20 weeks which is just a blood test and it takes into consideration age etc and gives you a probability and then if it comes back high you can get further testing.

they dont do the NT as abortion wasn't an option in north of Ireland until like last year and so they didnt check for things incase they found them! and there was no point telling women about them as they couldn't have an abortion even if they wanted. I wouldn't want to know for abortion, i would just want to know to be prepared, that's why i opted for quad test.

Anyone can get the quad test but generally people dont bother unless they have risk factors, i am 38 so thought it wise to do test.

TMI2000 · 25/05/2023 13:14

@38andtrying Oh how interesting! I never knew any of that. Guess we should count ourselves lucky down here that we get the NT Testing!

Bookworm12345 · 25/05/2023 18:03

Welcome @Cm078 👋😁

GemmaJen · 25/05/2023 21:44

Finally got my consultant appointment moved, going in tomorrow at 11, apparently because I've been put forward for the preterm clinic there will be a scan. I still don't understand the risk factors for it, my little girl would have happily stayed in till 42 weeks if we hadn't evicted her at 39 weeks weighing almost 10lb, really doesn't make sense to me. But I'll take the extra scan 😊

Hope everyone is feeling well today x

Thack · 26/05/2023 02:46

Big boss was super busy today so I didn't tell her the news. If she finds out second hand she'll be upset (it's a respect thing, mutual). She doesn't work Fridays so next week it is.
I've been hiding bump by wearing a company zipped jacket, it's getting too hot for it now. I must grow a set next week! I'll be 17 weeks, nearly half way!

LeeanneD11 · 26/05/2023 06:40

LeeanneD11 · 26/05/2023 08:41

@FlyingHighFlyingLow

I've been given loratadine , but doesn't seem to help at all and eye drops . I feel like I've been punched in the face lol my eyes are so puffy and watery xx

PilarG · 26/05/2023 11:39

@spanglesj I actually live in France, here the next test is call DPNI...and the doctor suggest it if you are 1/500 below...(had no idea in other parts of the world was different 😮)

@Thack good luck with telling your boss.. I actually told my boss when I was 12 weeks because my nausea was so bad and they were sending me constantly to business trips.. they now have stopped

I have no baby bump (14 weeks tomorrow) 😑... my colleague 13 weeks pregnant has a notorious bump... and I feel weird 😦, I even feel skinnier 🤐
