How is everyone doing nausea wise? I’m 14 weeks and my nausea has been a lot more bearable, if not entirely gone, the last week or so. However, the last couple of days I’ve had more of a bloated/over-full feeling in my stomach which has been quite unpleasant 😢

I was quite unwell from 6 weeks, on Saturday I tried going into the city center and ended up wretching on the high street into drains 🙈🙈🙈

Hit 13 weeks yesterday and since Saturday's incident I've started to feel much better! (Touching wood). I even managed a full portion of a meal last night for the first time since I found out I'm pregnant! Of course I felt a bit unwell afterwards but in a different way. Fingers crossed this is it subsiding for me.

Though I've lost a lot of weight, I'm definitely rounded on my lower stomach, I've got a kind of 'B shape' to my abdomen now and the bottom of the B is actually quite hard to the touch. Not sure if bloat or bump starting but def feels different to normal!

Mine started to subside at around 13 weeks but it wasn't like a steady decline. Some days were still better than others. I'm now 17weeks and I'd say at about 16 weeks all uncomfortable feelings in relation to stomach/nausea/appetite were gone (so far so good). So hopefully it's coming soon!

Thanks for the new thread 🤗

Sb86 · 24/05/2023 09:00

Thanks for starting a new thread 😊 for those who have had the scans I'm so please they went well for you even if there were a couple of stubborn babies 🥰

GemmaJen · 24/05/2023 09:54

16w appointment done this morning, my usual midwife wasn't in, so had the midwife who looked after me with my first pregnancy, she's so lovely, I'm sad she's not my current midwife. Just so much easier to talk to, and she remembered details from when I was pregnant with my daughter 4 years ago.

Listened to baby with doppler, which was really reasuring. I'm starting to feel movement now too, just little flutters here and there, my anxiety is so grateful! Feeling a lot more positive. Did urine and blood pressure too and spoke about my referrals, she's going to chase so hopefully I'll hear more soon.

Sb86 · 24/05/2023 10:22

@GemmaJen that's lovely you got to hear baby's heartbeat 💓 I hope my midwife checks mine next week for my 16 week check (I'll be 17+1) so hopefully she will. I've felt some flutters but keep thinking it must just be wind haha as I got told I have an anterior placenta 🤷🏼‍♀️

As for your midwife could you not request your old one?

GemmaJen · 24/05/2023 11:00

@Sb86 unfortunately because it's a village practice we only have one assigned midwife. The regional midwives cover during absence, but my old midwife is too far away for us to see regularly, otherwise I would change.

Yes I'm 17w today and she found the hb really easily, hopefully you will get the opportunity too. Though I don't think all midwives offer it at the 16w appointment. Such a lovely sound though 😊

Thanks for the new thread.
:)

I am 13 weeks and 2 days today... my next scan is in more or less in 2 weeks and is all I can think of...

My nausea has become worst now ... it kicks in the late afternoon/evening.. i simply just stay in bed...
it has been super hard the last months (stressed as I had 2 previous miscarriages) and at work my performance has been so low...they have gave me such a bad feedback :( I haven't shared the news yet only to my boss...

I just received my trisomy 21 test: is 1/450 ... they suggest I take the next blood adn test... I am a little worried....

so much going on!! ....

Mldn · 24/05/2023 11:30

I had my 16 week appt this morning! For reference, I am in north London & they didn’t do the heartbeat. But I wasn’t overly concerned as I have heard it a few times now anyway, recently at the weekend. I didn’t find the appointment much use really! Just did my blood pressure & urine sample & said all was good with my initial blood results.

Hi everyone, I hope you don’t mind me being self indulgent for a moment! I had never heard of nub theory before joining these threads, any guesses on mine? I’m so curious now! Thank you ☺️

@Fairylight102 13+4 still having almost constant nausea but not actually throwing up as much, seems to be a day on day off pattern. Unfortunately is a throwing up day, so as soon as I woke up at around 6 I was sick and then 3-4 more episodes of retching but not bringing anything up. Luckily I am managing to keep food down though (most of the time).

TMI2000 · 24/05/2023 11:55

@Rebs23 I'm no expert on the Nub Theory but looks like a girl to me :)

Rebs2 · 24/05/2023 12:10

Hi all, hope you don't mind me joining... Been lurking for weeks (months?!) but finally feel ready to dive in.

Baby number 2 is due 26th November, I have an almost 17 month old son. Crazy times ahead lol.

Katiec1 · 24/05/2023 12:21

Thanks for the new thread☺️☺️ received my NIPT results yesterday and she said very good results, low probability for all syndromes at 1/10,000. Im almost afraid to google those figures tbh.
We wanted gender to be sent by post and received the letter this morning 😁 now to wait around till 6pm for hubs to come home to open it 😩😂 hope everyone is keeping well x

LeeanneD11 · 24/05/2023 12:37

Hi everyone ,

13+2 today , and I felt some slight twinges in the night is this normal for this stage , this is my 3rd pregnancy it kept me up most of the night .

Also is there any tips to sleep better I've tried the pillow between my legs as I get cramps in my legs so badly .

Is it safe to sleep on my back? With extra support like a pillow under my back.?

I can't get a good night sleep and I'm constantly tired . I just want to have one night of a good sleep lol 😂 I should be used to this considering 3rd and finally baby .

Hope everyone is ok and the sickness has eased up for most people

Thank you for reading ❤️❤️

@Rebs23 also no expert but looks like a girl to me.

@LeeanneD11 this is my first pregnancy and I’m currently 16+4 but I was under the impression you could sleep however you like so long as it’s comfortable. I mostly sleep on my front, which I’m still doing although it’s been getting a little less comfortable the last few days so I’ve been back sleeping which is feeling better. I think you only have to start worrying about that once you have a big heavy bump.

Ah perfect , I was worried , but I'll keep doing that as I sleep much better on my back , I don't have a bump just as yet I don't think I think it's just bloat lol 😂 not sure to be honest as I eat so much in the day 😂 xx

Psqueak87 · 24/05/2023 13:43

Yeah at the end of the day I’m so bloated, especially as I’m on a two week road trip with my parents. So instead of eating healthy I’m eating at restaurants 2-3 times a day (no complaints here). But in the morning the bloat has gone down and I can feel a hard bump pretty low, beneath my bellybutton!

I'm the same tbh , I'm trying to eat healthy but it's so hard lol 😂 hopefully my bump will come along later in the pregnancy. No one notices I'm pregnant yet but some people do lol so it's all good really . Hope you have a lovely time xx

Spareincoming · 24/05/2023 14:25

Marking my place; hope everyone is doing well.

I’ll be along sooner or later with an update. Still getting my head around some stuff that the extra tests have thrown up.

Pretty much the same, along with always feeling like I can’t quite get a full breath.

I'm west sussex and my midwife said they listen for the heart beat at 16 week so if my husband wanted to come and alsp sp I wasn't wearing am all in one outfit!!

MooseWL · 24/05/2023 16:52

@Rebs23 what how many weeks was the scan picture? Looks girl but apparently if its before 12w5 nub can still change a lot in 12th week.

I'm 16+5 still nauseous and sick some days but nowhere near as frequent as a few weeks ago.

MooseWL · 24/05/2023 16:55

@LeeanneD11 I asked my midwife this the other day and she said its not until the bump is much bigger they advise sleeping on your side, from 28 weeks definitely but she said generally your body will tell you when it's not okay anyway. I remember with my son after a certain point it becoming really uncomfortable. She said if you want to continue it when you're bigger you can prop yourself up with a pillow so you're slightly reclined, so you're not laying flat basically

Ah perfect I can't sleep on my side as I get so uncomfortable. And when I'm on my back I tend to sleep longer xx
