@38andtrying good luck today! I was the same & booked one when I was 16+2 & baby was fine. Fast asleep & didn’t show us anything! I’m now 17+4 & still don’t believe I’m pregnant 😂 have hardly told anybody! Hoping the nerves will go after my 20 weeks & then I’ll tell more people I think!

Mldn · 30/05/2023 10:00

@FlyingHighFlyingLow I am pretty dizzy most times when I stand or bend. Blood pressure also okay for me. I mentioned it last week at my 16 week appt & they said it’s normal & dizziness is just a symptom of pregnancy & some women get it worse than others. It only started to this level for me the last couple weeks back. I’m just over 17 weeks! Unsure on body temp but is yours slightly low?

My usual body temp is around 36.5 - 36.8, so 35.5 is quite a drop for me! My DH also says I feel cold to the touch. The dizziness somewhat expected but I recently started aspirin as family history of preeclampsia so wasn't sure if could be linked. My BP has dropped from around 120/78 to 100/65 but that's not considered low until 90/50. I've been keeping an eye somewhat regularly due to family history. Hopefully I feel better, 14 weeks today!

Good luck @38andtrying , I'm sure you'll see a happy little baby ❤

Hopewishprayer · 30/05/2023 10:38

@38andtrying good luck for your scan today 💕
I have my first nhs scan this afternoon , I’m 13+5 and haven’t ready let myself believe this is happening, so scared of something going wrong (5 rounds of ivf and a MMC have shattered my nerves!)
had a scan at 11 weeks and all looked great but doesn’t stop the worry 😬

38andtrying · 30/05/2023 10:40

@Hopewishprayer fingers crossed for us both x

LilmissCa · 30/05/2023 11:09

@Hopewishprayer good luck to you also today

MeganC104 · 30/05/2023 11:27

Some of us must be coming up to our 20 week scans 😁 mine is next week on Friday. Anyone else? Can't believe we're almost half way

WhiteJasmin · 30/05/2023 11:57

@Travellingislife @CliniMama so my obstetrician said the booster is optional. It depends if there is any medical condition that would suggest to get a booster. Otherwise if we catch covid, it will be like treating the cold at home just keep up with fluids and also make sure we move around to get the blood circulation going because covid is known to increase chances of blood clots.

WhiteJasmin · 30/05/2023 11:59

@MeganC104 I've got mine coming up too. Fingers crossed

Chellooo · 30/05/2023 13:21

@38andtrying had midwife Apt today...doppler of heartbeat taken, b.p and urine sample... asked again about testing and was made feel like an idiot as 'they'd never heard of it' and it's not something done here 🙄

38andtrying · 30/05/2023 13:46

@Chellooo you are lucky heartrate was taken, my midwife told me categorically they wont do it! i am with Midwife in Banbdridge area this time around

Hello all! Hope I can join this thread. I'm due November 1st. Waiting for my 20 weeks scan coming up ahead.

Just want to ask have anyone been recommended to take a covid booster shot? I've taken the flu shot and sitting on the fence about another booster. Thanks!

I’m 14 weeks and had my Covid booster shot a couple of weeks ago. My midwife advised me
to.

38andtrying · 30/05/2023 16:58

nerves going mental now, i have been dropping things all afternoon with nerves! feeling really shaky on it, scanxiety is horrible, i couldn't help but read about pregnancy loss at 16 weeks this afternoon too, why!!! i am a glutton for punishment :( not long to wait now, praying and praying all is ok

38andtrying · 30/05/2023 19:09

Scan went well, baby has a heartbeat, was kicking away. They had their back to us so couldn't see face, I found out I have an anterior placenta which I was really hoping wouldn't be the case as I am so anxious and was looking forward to the reassurance of feeling baby move.

For the moment I'm very reassured and feeling great, hope it continues, I have my midwife appointment next week on 8th June and then 20 weeks scan on 27th June when I'll be just over 20 weeks.

Waiting on results from the quad test as well so really hoping all looks good with that too

Glad it went well, I was told at my 12 week scan I have anterior placenta too, which doesn't help us mums , which means we won't feel so much movement till later on . I had one in my previous pregnancy too xx

38andtrying · 30/05/2023 19:29

@LeeanneD11 in your previous when did you feel baby? And also when could your partner feel kicks? I'm looking forward to being able to share when the baby kicks with my husband, make him feel more involved

spanglesj · 30/05/2023 19:57

@38andtrying glad to hear about your scan today! They said mine is anterior too. My mate is 32 wks now and she said that it just meant she didn’t feel kicks until 21weeks but after that felt lots. Hoping that’s the same for me that it doesn’t dampen things too much!
my 20 wk scan is only the day before yours … already can’t wait x

spanglesj · 30/05/2023 19:58

My midwife got shirty when I tried to press her on whether covid jab is recommended, I don’t think she actually knew as she just told me to ask my GP! Funny / not funny how we all get told different things!

Tbh I can't remember as it was 5 years ago but I think it just after my 20 week scan , and partner felt them around the same time as me too . I'm looking forward to my 20 week scan . I feel tightening sensations which is good . Have you felt any of them too . My scan is in 6 weeks and I'm thinking do I book for a 16week scan just for reassurance . As I don't have any symptoms or cravings just gone of most foods lol . How you feeling in this pregnancy xx

Marvelmommy · 30/05/2023 20:09

GUYS HELP!
So this is my first pregnancy and i had a private gender scan done at 16weeks and was told I’m having a girl however I’m still not satisfied with the scan and just need a confirmation before buying pinks, can anyone have a look and tell me what they think it is … I just want to be sure as I’ve read many stories about wrong gender diagnoses X

@Marvelmommy I have no idea what's going on in that pic sorry! Asking on a different mm thread might get you a wider audience.

A word of caution on buying things early... There's a long way to go. You'll see something nice and buy it, repeat over five months and that can add up!
That said, no harm in being prepared and enjoying shopping! I missed out on that with covid baby 🙁Probably saved a fortune though!!

Mummypig23 · 30/05/2023 20:29

Glad the scans went well for those who have had them.

In terms of the covid jab, midwife hasn’t mentioned it but I’m asthmatic so intend to have the booster in the autumn when I have my flu booster.

38andtrying · 30/05/2023 20:31

@LeeanneD11 I've had some tightening but its been high up on right side so not sure if its anything to do with baby lol

I've been feeling very giod so far, second trimester has been great so far, not sick and have energy back.

I wish I knew what I should be feeling but with first pregnancy I haven't a clue, even though I've seen baby loads and have pictures to prove it I still can't believe I'm pregnant haha

I've just hit second trimester , my first one was awful . It's horrible having a anterior placenta . I just knew it would happen again . I was hoping it wouldn't as would of felt flutter by 16 weeks . I'm glad your feeling good , you can start to feel movement around 20 weeks . I am going to double check at my next scan , as it wasn't my notes when I left the hospital didn't say anything about my placenta just everything else . But it's hard for me as I have a cyst too so everything is getting pushed out the way atm which is horrible .

I'm so anxious this time tho . Has anyone been sleeping on their back? As I'm finding it comfortable on my back and I'm worried I'm squashing baby . Am I ok to sleep on my back. I find it uncomfortable on my side xx

PinkPlantCase · 30/05/2023 20:51

@LeeanneD11 I’m still happily sleeping on my back. I’m pretty sure the NHS advice for not sleeping on your back is more focused on the third trimester rather than the second.

When it gets uncomfortable later on I’ll make an effort to prop myself onto one side more.

Ah good that's a relief I was so worried . I'm glad I can sleep on my back for a little longer . Thank you for reassuring me I appreciate it xx
