@DaisyMay25 Oh oh! I wonder what it is? Something your body is protecting you from perhaps?! Chocolate tasted completely differently and I instantly couldn't stand it being in my mouth! So weird!

DaisyMay25 · 11/05/2023 17:32

@Rainbowdust557 I have no idea, it's the texture of my body being fully aware what it is. I ended up last time eating the big mushrooms instead of chicken. Is it any other sweet stuff for you or just chocolate?

joyjoy23 · 11/05/2023 17:48

@Rainbowdust557 @DaisyMay25
It's definitely meat for me! Gave chicken a shot the other night, but sadly not a pleasant experience and had to put it in the big no-no list. 😂 Red meats are completely off the table, I don't even dare trying.

SMG1992 · 11/05/2023 17:57

I've gone off chocolate too which is sad, I can't really even deal with the thought of it without feeling quezy!

Congrats on your scan @Landsmen So exciting that these are going to start happening now.
I had my midwife app today and she said my scan will be between 4th-16th June, I should know the exact date next week!

Clucket87 · 11/05/2023 18:01

Sickness is starting to kick in now. Not awful but enough I know it's there.
Last pregnancy I could stand fish. I could guarantee I would be sick in no time if I had any. And pizza used to make me poorly as well. I hope that isn't the case this time.
I was supposed to have fish cake's tonight. But I think it will be a chip sandwich instead.
I opened the fridge and I could smell it. Last time I used to have to hold my breath to get anything from it.
I'm kind of glad I'm now getting some symptoms but I forgot how bad it was lol. Xx

Mushroo · 11/05/2023 18:21

On food aversions / cravings I read a completely non scientific article that craving sweet things = a girl, and avoiding sweet things or craving spicy = a boy.

I’ve been craving spicy food which is weird because I normally hate spicy things - will see if I end up with a boy! 😂

Mummy1502 · 11/05/2023 19:08

Spotting is back and this time the tiniest red clot too, I hate this, only had a scan a couple of days ago so no point calling epu they won’t be able to scan so soon x

wannabemum38 · 11/05/2023 19:22

@Mummy1502 always worth giving them a ring though that's what the MW told me however trivial it seems. Especially as weekend is coming up you will stress if you can't get in touch with anyone.

Rainbowdust557 · 11/05/2023 19:26

@Mummy1502 oh how worrying for you, I know it can be very common but still horrible to go through.

@Mushroo I have boy suspicions haha! Last time I craved all sweet things and this time hardly at all.

@DaisyMay25 I can eat other sweets but don't particularly fancy them. I've had cravings for salty peanuts and and have eaten a ton of bananas!

Sounds like meat is a common aversion!

DaisyMay25 · 11/05/2023 19:33

@Mushroo I craved salty stuff last time and had a boy!

Pitstop1986 · 11/05/2023 20:31

Everyone is having meat aversion, and here's me who can't get enough of it! I have to have a full English in the morning or I feel rubbish all day. Carby breakfasts make me nauseous. I have meat with lunch and dinner and I'll sometimes snack on slices of ham or turkey through the day!

Also off anything sweet. I was the same with my daughter. Everyone said that I was having a boy as I could only eat savoury things, then out popped a little girl!

I've swung the other way with the sickness today, very minimal but I've been STARVING all day long.

Also, with my daughter I had awful cramps up until 12ish weeks and not many at all this time, I guess because my body has already stretched quite recently ?

Interesting about aversions, I'm usually such a sweet tooth but with my girl I totally went off anything sweet and only wanted savoury! I think it's what your body is lacking in. But meat aversions are BIG here 🤢 @Mushroo

@Mummy1502 I'm sorry you're struggling :( it's so hard when you don't have a window to your belly and just have to have faith

@Pitstop1986 gosh just the thought of ham makes me actually gag 😂 maybe your body is wanting the iron and protein!

Magicbean5 · 11/05/2023 21:02

Hi everyone, I booked a private scan for this Monday evening! Couldn't help myself but I needed the clarification on how far along I am, I figured I should be about 8weeks by then 🥰
A little short background Intro: This is my 8th pregnancy, we have 4 DC at home. I have had 1 MMC which nearly killed me and ended up with a blood transfusion, many moons ago. I've had 2 miscarriages since over the space of 8years, one being twins in 2020. But since then we had a beautiful miracle DS in 2021 while I battled thyroid cancer. Fast forward...this lovely surprise has taken us aback but ready to face this journey again, feeling nervous, apprehensive but grateful!
Sending lots of positive vibes 💗

Rainbowdust557 · 11/05/2023 21:40

Oh wow @Magicbean5 that is some tough stuff to deal with. You sound like a very strong person! Welcome and hope your scan goes well 🙂

Moriquendi · 11/05/2023 21:45

Thanks @SunSparkle and @Justanothercyster ! Will definitely be requesting a birth debrief when I have my booking in appointment next week. I’m so torn on what birth choices to make this time. Also, can’t believe I’m stressing about it already at only 9 weeks! And my worry probably only going to get worse 😩 Hope it will help.

@Magicbean5 congratulations on number 5, that's wonderful 😊

@Mummy1502 hope you're ok! It hasn't been an easy couple of weeks. But hopefully it's nothing to worry about.

My hormones have finally got the better of me today. Having one of those days today from all angles! And I'm the most bloated I've been 🤯

@Mushroo That's great you got some reassurance from a scan! Do you think you'll still book a private one or will you wait til your booking scan? I still haven't heard anything from my self-referral.

Justanothercyster · 12/05/2023 06:24

@Magicbean5 that's some experience! Congratulations, I'm so happy for you and hope your scan goes well x

@Moriquendi I'm sure it will help. Try not to worry just yet.
I already know I want another section, but elective this time.

Mushroo · 12/05/2023 07:16

@Charlielechat i think I’ll still go for an early one as DH wants to see something too!

That’s frustrating about the referral. Can you call them? When I did it turned out my appointment had been booked for a few days and the post was just being very slow with all the bank holidays.

Charlielechat · 12/05/2023 07:43

@Mushroo Where I live you have your booking appointment and scan all in the one go rather than a few weeks apart so I think I may be waiting a while! 👎

Mushroo · 12/05/2023 07:49

@Charlielechat oh that’s annoying! At least when it happens it will feel like the most productive day ever 😂

Mummy1502 · 12/05/2023 08:07

Thanks ladies it’s stopped this morning, was only minimal, but I’m starting to think it’s happening when we have sex x

99SR · 12/05/2023 08:17

I just had a little bit of brown blood when I wiped at the toilet there ☹️ so triggering! And now I feel physically sick! I’m 8+4 today x
