@Mummy1502 congratulations amazing little scan

smldnlove · 09/05/2023 20:50

Ah so pleased @Mummy1502, congratulations was wondering how you got on x

Anyone experiencing nausea and bad stomach around eating meals, and found a good solution or something that helps? Only had this the past few days and really struggling, as soon as I eat anything at all I become extremely bloated and nauseous/dizzy. Dreading going into the office and out for lunch and dinner tomorrow!

Mushroo · 09/05/2023 20:56

@smldnlove after bemoaning my lack of symptoms I’ve also started feeling a bit nauseous after eating. It’s odd because normally nausea would be a sign of being hungry!

For now it’s manageable for me (semi convinced I’m imagining it because I want some symptoms), but also interested in tips in case it gets worse.

Charlielechat · 09/05/2023 21:03

I've been starting to get a bit iffy if I'm really hungry. People say to eat little and often!

SMG1992 · 09/05/2023 21:19

I think I’m going to have to start with the little and often trick
if I’m hungry I feel nauseous if I’ve eaten and feel full I feel nauseous!

Buttons86 · 09/05/2023 21:24

@smldnlove I have had pretty bad sickness and food aversions. I have had to take anti sickness so the below is combined with taking them.

Trying to eat smaller amounts more often has helped as has very plain food, ice lollies, smoothies and ice cold drinks. Tangy things have also helped with the bad taste in my mouth.

I have been taking the pregnancy vitamins but also started taking them in the afternoon as was able to keep more down then rather than morning/evening.

Some days are better than others for me…I have a bad few days then a better few days then back to bad again so assume it’s do with the hormones. The bad sickness started when I was 6 weeks…I’m now 10/11 weeks and still feeling rough.

Mushroo · 09/05/2023 21:41

Has anyone else been really grumpy?

I can hear I’m being completely unreasonable but DH is driving me insane for no reason and I keep snapping at him. I also can’t bear him touching me at all (not even for a quick hug).

Hoping it’s just a short phase…

99SR · 09/05/2023 21:54

@Mushroo yes!!! I moaned at my partner because he had spaghetti sauce on his face during dinner - was seriously giving me the ick 🤣🫣 he said he was glad to be going to the football tonight so ofcourse i moaned again. I seem to be over it now haha!

Mushroo · 09/05/2023 21:56

@99SR 😂😂 honestly so relatable. It comes and goes so quickly throughout the day as well!

Chewing gum has really helped me with this. I have it stashed everywhere and chew as soon as my meal is done!

smldnlove · 09/05/2023 22:45

@Mushroo Glad yours is manageable, mine was the first day and now it’s constant. I was also moaning about no symptoms and now am a mess!! I’m also really irritable at the moment, very short patience with my poor OH who just wants to help. Can’t stand it 😂

@Charlielechat Hope yours steers clear! You may be one of the lucky ones, fingers crossed! ✨

@Buttons86 thank you I will definitely try the eating small and often, have seen that in a few places but when you have no appetite it’s so hard, I’m going to make an effort to do this now. Will also try with the plain foods and ice lollies. Hope yours settles soon for you!

@OnNaturesCourse Really! I’ve not heard that one yet, definitely going to try gum, it does make sense thank you!!

Buttons86 · 09/05/2023 23:29

@smldnlove hope you find something that helps. It is hard when you have no appetite but maybe have some snacks on the go you can pick at through the day. I also felt rougher when I wasn’t well enough hydrated so trying to keep liquids in helps me too.

The other thing I’ve found which helps is not wearing anything tight around my stomach.

The sickness is draining!

Mummy1502 · 10/05/2023 06:05

Thankyou everyone, feels very strange that my symptoms seem to had gone but baby is fine, however woken up with very sore boobs this morning, il take that x

99SR · 10/05/2023 07:21

@Mummy1502 glad everything went well. From the comments on here it seems peoples symptoms come and go, try not to worry! Xx

Mummy1502 · 10/05/2023 07:24

@99SR Thankyou, yea that’s is reassuring, I had a busy weekend so I think maybe that didn’t help x

SunSparkle · 10/05/2023 15:51

@Mushroo my nausea has arrived! A couple of days ago. Thankfully spoke with the GP today and because of my previous hyperemesis I will be put on a new medication as of today which I’m going to go pick up at the pharmacy later. Had a brilliant doctor who just ‘got it’ and I didn’t have to justify myself or how bad my sickness was last time. Such a relief.

also had my booking in appointment yesterday. Different community midwife to last time. Have my bloods on Friday. Due to my birth last time, they are hopefully going to arrange a birth debrief so I can make some informed choices for birth this time around but I’m hoping for midwife led care if possible.

joyjoy23 · 10/05/2023 15:51

@OnNaturesCourse I second that, gum has been a game changer for me too.

I have had pretty heightened sense of smell and smells I used to like such as lavender and anything green are now giving me the most horrid nausea to the point where I just can't help but throw up. Going into the bathroom is proving difficult for that same reason as there are just too many smells lol. So I keep gum and mints stashed in the bathroom now and chew while taking a shower. I think I have gone completely nuts as now also started replacing all sorts of skincare and cosmetics with non-fragrance versions just to be on the safe side. Is it just me? 🤦🏼‍♀️

joyjoy23 · 10/05/2023 15:56

@SunSparkle Glad you had such a positive experience with the GP and hopefully the meds can help ease your sickness. I might need to ask for anti-sickness meds myself soon as it's just wiping me out completely, only started in week 7/8. How did your booking appointment go? I had mine today and my midwife was the sweetest, hope she will be the one looking after me throughout the whole pregnancy.

SunSparkle · 10/05/2023 16:22

@joyjoy23 definitely ask for medication. It was a gamechanger in my last pregnancy. I wouldn’t have been able to function at all otherwise.

booking in was good - she’s an older midwife so it’s like having your mum! But they only put me down for a 20 minute slot rather than an hour so we had to race through it a bit so will keep my follow up questions for my birth debrief and so on.

Mushroo · 10/05/2023 17:32

@SunSparkle glad your GP was helpful, it’s so nice when you get a good one and feel listened to! Ditto with the midwife, makes such a difference!

I was talking to DH today and we’ve decided to get an 8 week scan after previously agreeing we would wait. I just want some reassurance there’s actually something in there given my lack of major symptoms! (I say that, I am completely exhausted all the time).

OnNaturesCourse · 10/05/2023 18:01

Very jealous of everyone having their booking in appointments etc. I don't have mine until I am 11 weeks as the midwifes are so busy where I am.

SMG1992 · 10/05/2023 18:10

Im excited I have my midwife appointment tomorrow - hopefully they’ll book me in for my 12 week scan.
I can’t wait to have that in the diary now.

it’s getting close and I can’t wait to tell people!

Itonlytakesaminute · 10/05/2023 20:09

Anyone else's sleep really weird? I wake up at the same time each night for a wee, half 12, then on and off sleep till 3am and then sleep through!

OnNaturesCourse · 10/05/2023 20:27

My sleep pattern is crazy.

I'm knackered all day, go to bed at 8ish most nights but don't fall asleep until midnight because I'm up and down for a pee and just can't sleep then I'm out cold until 10am if I don't have an alarm set. (8am otherwise lol) my dreams are super vivid too.

Rise and repeat.

Shattered and can't sleep.

Itonlytakesaminute · 10/05/2023 21:46

@OnNaturesCourse the peeing is constant! I'm normally a great sleeper 8hrs + a night and longer if I could but sleep, doesn't happen at the moment
