I've been suffering with sharp pains in my lower abdomen on and off since getting up yesterday morning, I'm thinking it's pelvic girdle pain as it's worse when moving/ stretching but everything online suggests girdle pain is down one side and I have it across the whole of my abdomen? Has anyone else had this that can help or reassure me?

ForeverAndEvers · 25/04/2023 13:19

Struggling to keep up so sorry if I'm missing things. Sorry to those waiting for news or struggling with symptoms. Different situation but I know what waiting for news can be like so I hope you're ok.

I had my delayed 12 week scan yesterday at 13+5 and all looking good. Was really nervous but so far everything OK. Due 25th Oct which was my original date. Not sure if that's as they were measuring exactly right or if they just don't move dates here (outside UK).

NSx · 25/04/2023 13:40

@ForeverAndEvers I’m also 25/10 💕💕

PeopleAreToads · 25/04/2023 14:10

@Phoenixwings1989 I don't know what my levels are, haven't had any details yet but interested to know. We're also thinking about a private scan because it's made me nervous and a 5 week wait for the 20 week scan and consultant appointment feels like a long time

Phoenixwings1989 · 25/04/2023 15:30

@PeopleAreToads I found out the levels on the BadgerNotes app but I know not everybody has that option. I doubt they would've told me the exact levels otherwise. I'm going for a private scan before my 20 week scan but not sure when. I don't think I'd survive the worry otherwise!

Koalawhala · 25/04/2023 15:53

Me too for the 25th @ForeverAndEvers. Glad all is good for you. I’m also waiting for a delayed 12 week scan! Mine is on Thursday

I can see my results in the my badger app but no idea what it all means. What should I be looking at 🤦🏼‍♀️ xx

Phoenixwings1989 · 25/04/2023 16:37

@ttcttc I went on the maternity records part and tapped on the blood and microbiology results. I went down to the Edwards and Pataus part and that's where I found it. Hope it helps xx

Sav96 · 25/04/2023 16:40

@BeaKind they say to wait between scans so that you can see progress in growth as if you went close together many expectant mums get unnecessarily upset as it looks like there’s been no progress. There’s no harm to baby having them close together though. if you book an private scan just tell a white lie on how long between you had your last scan x

Has anybody been for their 16 week midwife appt yet? I’ve had mine this morning and just realised that my midwife didn’t check for the heartbeat..

Luckily I had a gender scan on Saturday and the heartbeat was heard then, so I’m not too worried but I was just wondering whether this is normal or whether it definitely should have been checked? Maybe someone who’s had a previous pregnancy could confirm please? ❤️

firstlittlefrazzleontheway · 25/04/2023 16:44

@VanillaOat my 16 week midwife appointment isn't until I'm 18 weeks but I did ask at booking in if they would listen to baby's heartbeat at next scan and she said no they don't routinely do it any more. The midwife said that they would rather go off movements rather than heartbeat to know baby is okay but after 20 weeks she will let me and my partner listen to the heartbeat if we want but just for "fun"

Thanks. My edwards etc not been published yet. Will keep checking. Do you remember how long yours took to appear? Xx

lighthousechristmas · 25/04/2023 17:04

@VanillaOat she didnt check heartbeat at mine, although i heard it for first time at a private scan last week and laughed at how it sounded like a train

VanillaOat · 25/04/2023 18:17

@firstlittlefrazzleontheway ahh that’s understandable! Glad it wasn’t missed by accident then! Tbh I think it would make me nervous if they were attempting to find it with a doppler…

@lighthousechristmas I thought the same! Nothing subtle or dainty about it at all 😂

Ss32 · 25/04/2023 19:32

@VanillaOat i think, from what I remember with my last pregnancy, they don’t listen to the heartbeat until quite late on now.
I need to book in for my whooping cough vaccine too

Mldn · 25/04/2023 19:43

@BeaKind hope you are doing okay! Echo what a precious poster has put with regards scans & growth.. there’s no evidence to suggest harm to the baby, it’s recommended to leave that timeframe to see growth.. last week I had a private scan & an EPU scan within 48 hours.. baby measured 7mm/3 days difference between each one 😂 it must’ve been scrunched up in the first one & stretched out relaxing in the second! x

Mamabear345 · 25/04/2023 19:48

@VanillaOat i had my 16 week appointment last week and the midwife used a Doppler and found the heartbeat. I have heard of some trusts not doing it though.

Alexandra07 · 25/04/2023 20:04

@Ss32 my midwife told me that I will be offered the whooping cough vaccine at one of the appointments, I think the 20 week. I don't have to book it.

Summer022 · 25/04/2023 20:11

Nausea is kicking my arse tonight. Why is it always worse in the bloody evenings! Nearly 14 weeks, just want to feel better now

SillyOldBear3 · 25/04/2023 20:30

@VanillaOat I had my 16 week appointment yesterday (though am closer to 15 weeks) and she asked if I wanted to hear the heartbeat 💓 I think it's something they can offer but it's not routinely part of the appointment.

Ss32 · 25/04/2023 20:33

@Alexandra07 ah that’s good, I think my next midwife isn’t until 28 weeks (?) and midwife said just try book it straight after

SillyOldBear3 · 25/04/2023 20:35

For those who have hear baby's heartbeat.. what was their heart rate? Baby's was 148bpm yesterday 💕 I'm 15+2 weeks. The old wives take says anything above 140 is a girl, and below 140 a boy... Doubt there's any truth in this though! 🤣

MamaNicz · 25/04/2023 20:50

@EMcG3 0.37 I think it was. Not sure if the level makes any different to risk or not, do you now?

@PeopleAreToads sounds standard then, I’ve had no explanation, contact, or anything other than that vague letter. It didn’t even mention aspirin but thankfully I’m already on 150mg as I was already high risk for pre-eclampsia due to high blood pressure and start of pre-eclampsia in my last pregnancy so I’ve just done my own reading and I’ll wait for my next midwife appointment at 16/17 weeks

NSx · 25/04/2023 20:58

@SillyOldBear3 mine was 161bpm but I was 11+3 at the time 🥹 so I don’t know if it relates

ForeverAndEvers · 25/04/2023 21:32

@NSx @Koalawhala nice to have some due date pals 🙂. Hope Thursday goes well @Koalawhala!
