1st baby due 18th October! Congrats to everyone on this thread 🥰

LaVitesse2022 · 24/04/2023 16:41

@bigblueocean thank you 😊 planning is going well but still have a few bits and bobs to handle. Not least the dress, which I'm only going to buy a month in advance or so, no idea how big I'll be!

Sorry if you've already answered, are you finding out the sex or will you keep it a surprise? 🙂

NSx · 24/04/2023 16:46

@MamaNicz due date twins 😜

there’s a few other ladies here with the same @Koalawhala being one if I remember correctly ✨😇

monsteramunch · 24/04/2023 17:07

Congrats @drummermama0801 Flowers

Sav96 · 24/04/2023 17:21

@BeaKind so sorry to hear what you are going through, I don’t have any advice but I’m keeping everything crossed for a positive outcome for you ❤️

@MeganC104 I had the screening done on a Tuesday, I was told they would ring if anything was wrong on the Wednesday or Thursday. Friday was a bank holiday and I got the letter through on the Monday x

@bigblueocean Sorry to hear you’ve had sickness and nausea too it’s an awful thing to go through. What tablets have you been offered? I had prochlorperazine and cyclizine which didn’t work and then I tried Ondestran which helped a little but I’m back down to cyclizine twice a day now that it’s not as bad. I hope you manage to find some relief, the only thing that helped with nausea Inbetween eating for me was chewing gum!

@overgrowngrass what is the Facebook page if you don’t mind me asking? X

bigblueocean · 24/04/2023 17:26

@LaVitesse2022 I love the idea of keeping it a surprise but we're far too curious to do that, so we'll find out tomorrow if it's possible, or at the 20 week scan. We won't be telling friends and family though as my father is adamant it's bad luck to find out before the birth (he also won't look at a scan photo) and we can't guarantee others won't tell him by accident. I'll let you all know though!

Lilapug · 24/04/2023 18:09

Hi all, this is baby no1, due October 17 😊

Onethingiwantfor23 · 24/04/2023 18:29

@bigblueocean I'm 14 weeks and have had bad sinuses for 2 weeks. I think it possibly started with hayfever. The GP gave me antibiotics today and said although there has been no testing on pregnancies with antihistamine, she has never heard of it affecting the baby for those who've taken them. She said you really need to weigh up how bad you are with hayfever so I'm going to see how I am once I've finished the antibiotics and if it's bad, I'll take them. I've been in agony with sinuses fans can't do it again! Hope yours clears soon if it is pregnancy related x

peonygirl · 24/04/2023 20:00

This just made me laugh :) who let the baby in here???

Just a reminder that soon enough we won't be complaining just about nausea and tiredness, but all this too...

image was taken from Facebook, I don't have credentials but it is not mine.

Whoops, sent too soon!

@Onethingiwantfor23 I have allergie and I've been taking cetrizine which is seemingly fine to take - did so through my last pregnancy too and baby was fine.

@WhosBob @peonygirl I've not had the worst nausea, but brushing my teeth makes me heave and this morning I threw up water about 5 minutes after I got up, so it's still not gone at 15 weeks! Hoping this means as I've an extra symptom now I might lose one later on - I could do without the enormous cankles and swollen feet that don't fit into shoes, so fingers crossed 😂

When are you all going to think nursery's and big things? The thought scares the living day lights out of me currently!! I was thinking maybe a few weeks after 20 week scan? Start thinking about making some space etc. I don't know 🤷🏼‍♀️

Hi - not to freak anyone out but I just enquired (due 28th) at our local nursery and they have 2 baby places left for September 2024 - before that fully booked already!

Maybe have a call around and ask what their lead times are looking at - no harm x

Ss32 · 24/04/2023 22:18

I’ve booked into my little girls nursery for baby and they have no spaces until September 2024! I’m on the waiting list for June to September!

PrimarilyParented · 24/04/2023 22:18

@flightless55 it might depend on area. I only started looking for a childminder a few months before I returned to work (as didn’t know where I’d be living as I was also buying a house) and had no problem getting one immediately. Who has been amazing! But I live in a rural county so there’s lots of nursery spaces and child minding spaces available (though many child minders I know wait for full time children rather than accepting a few days a week, so the fact I needed full time may have helped me skip the waiting list so to speak).

OrionNebula · 24/04/2023 23:19

I'm in Ireland and have had baby's name down at a crèche since I was 9 weeks pregnant... one crèche I enquired at said they are fully booked for all of 2023 and 2024! Shock

Phoenixwings1989 · 25/04/2023 00:11

@BeaKind I am so sorry to hear you're going through this too. This happened to me the day after I went for my 12 week scan. I was told to go to the assessment unit where I waited two and a half hours. There was talk if me being scanned but at last minute I was only offered a cervical exam. They didn't know the cause of the bleed but confirmed that the entrance to the womb was closed. They refused to scan me when I asked, reason being becaus they believed if anything had been untoward it would have been apparent on the
scan. I booked a private scan for that evening and the Sonographer found a hematoma beneath the sac where baby was right at the opening of my cervix. Baby hadn't realised I'd been through so much worry that day as he/she was moving around so much. There is no words for how reassuring that was. If you are able then please do consider booking a private scan. It does so much for your peace of mind.

lighthousechristmas · 25/04/2023 08:35

I work for a nursery and the earliest we would register a child is once they are born.

Smiffette · 25/04/2023 09:02

The nursery my DD goes to asked if I was planning to put baby in there too, if so I should put the name down now! So handed in for a this morning and they will confirm by end of week if they have the availability that I've asked for.

I've got a meeting With my manager in a couple of weeks so want to be sure I can get the same as I have now for DD so I can go back post May leave on same working arrangement.

BeaKind · 25/04/2023 09:28

@Phoenixwings1989 wow that’s practically word for word what happened to me. I only had my nhs dating scan on Friday so I think I’ll book on for then. Would look to do one tomorrow but I’ve seen some people say they like you to have a week between scans? Or I just tell a white lie and say it was last Wednesday 😬 thankfully I’ve had no more blood this morning. I think it must have been something has caused a bleed Saturday night then the rest has just been the end of that. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Thank you for all your messages. 🤍

monsteramunch · 25/04/2023 09:39

I've been thinking of you @BeaKind and have everything crossed that it's just one of those things and all is well Flowers

EMcG3 · 25/04/2023 09:50

@MamaNicz - what is your Papp-A level? I have gotten deep into it in my last pregnancy. The issue that I had was definitely different than yours as I had both low Papp-A and low HCG, both levels far below what is required to sustain a pregnancy. However, the viable range is pretty.big.

AlongcameLainey · 25/04/2023 11:37

Just had to call the emergency midwife line as my excited almost 3 year old leapt up in the air and crashed down on my tummy with all her weight!

midwife didn’t seem worried at all and just said to call back if anything unusual happens but I’m in a panic 😱

PeopleAreToads · 25/04/2023 11:38

@MamaNicz I've also got low PAPP-A and panicked. I got the letter for a consultants appointment at 20 weeks but with no explanation, and then 10 days later a letter explaining the low PAPP-A and that I needed to take asprin

No details yet on how low my levels are or what will happen after the 20 week appointment

Phoenixwings1989 · 25/04/2023 12:09

@BeaKind oh, I've never heard about timing between scans and the Sonographer I went to see didn't seem overly concerned that I'd had one the day before. Fingers crossed the bleeding has passed for you. I was passing old blood for over a week and still get it now and again at 15 weeks.

@PeopleAreToads I have low PAPP-A too (around 0.24 by my notes) and I'm worried sick. I was already prescribed aspirin because of the risk of pre-eclampsia and I was dubious of taking it. Having read people's experiences though I am taking it now. What I've been told is after 20 weeks I'll be having growth scans to make sure bub is growing ok. I was due to have a call with the consultant yesterday but that didn't happen for some reason. Hopefully they'll add another appointment soon.

Speaking of movement, I'm worried as I felt movement really early on (second pregnancy and was told it happens sooner the more pregnancies you have but don't know how true that is) and now the movement has tapered off. I'm left second guessing whether it's bub or wind haha. I spoke to the midwife about it as it was playing on my mind last week and she said it was too early to tell and it was a matter of wait and see. I'm tempted to book another private scan just for the reassurance but don't want to. I still feel pregnant - I have girdle pain badly, still really nauseous, tired and nips are still sensitive. I had a MMC last June and my body told me everything was fine for 3 weeks after baby stopped growing so I'm not convinced.
