@WhosBob we are due date twins :) Mine is also October 30th. I am also still nauseous but not all day as before. I am still vomiting - last night was rough. But I don't have headaches. I know you can take paracetamol but likely it won't help much. Try to rest as much as you can because if you are tired you will feel worse. I am constantly told it will pass and all is normal - I stopped seeking advice now, just trying to push through. Some days are good some are less good. I keep on looking at the scan photo to get the energy for my daily puking session(s) :)

katherine123x · 24/04/2023 11:16

@ttcttc mine wasn't like flutters I wouldn't say. It is really difficult to explain it was like something had done a roly poly 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

EMcG3 · 24/04/2023 11:17

@katherine123x - after 20 week scan sounds about right to me. However, if you already know what nurseries you could be interested in, might be worth looking up their visiting structure. If visiting only happens very infrequently, better to know earlier and make a plan around it. I am just learning this lesson around schools right now for my older kid. 😑

Mine was like a ripple.. like something ran across my stomach 😂

Sav96 · 24/04/2023 11:25

@katherine123x I’m nearly 16 weeks and have just started to look at big buys. I’ve purchased a pram system from mamas and papas and have put a deposit down on nursery furniture but in no rush to pay it off for a while to be honest. I’ve only put a deposit down whilst it was sale price so it doesn’t go back up!

@WhosBob my sickness and nausea which has been all day has only just started to ease off and I’m nearly 16 weeks! I was diagnosed with HG at around 5 weeks but truthfully I haven’t had it as bad as some women suffer from HG. Not to say it’s been easy at all though! Hopefully you start to feel better soon 🥰

ttcttc · 24/04/2023 11:28

@Sav96 what nursery furniture have you gone for

katherine123x · 24/04/2023 11:34

@ttcttc yes!! It was a lot more than what I would think flutters would feel like. Flutters to me is a gentle word. This was not 😂😂

NSx · 24/04/2023 12:13

@katherine123x I’ll be getting my pram at the end of June when my in laws come back from hols as they are paying for it 🤪😂

I’ve picked my furniture which my mum is buying but I’m not in a rush to get it as it would have to go in the garage, and tbh I’m only just coming up for 14 weeks 🤩 so feel I’m still being a bit keen 😂

Sav96 · 24/04/2023 12:27

@ttcttc I’ve gone for the mamas and papas Mia range in the creamy white colour!

BeaKind · 24/04/2023 12:34

Thanks for all your wishes everyone. I had some more bleeding yesterday pm and went to the assessment unit. Waited 4 hours and at 11:30pm I’d still not been seen. We had my elderly MIL babysitting so couldn’t really leave her any longer so had to come home.

Woke up to some more blood today so I went back in and was seen quite quickly. They looked at my cervix and said the bleeding has come from the womb but I wasn’t actively bleeding. They said they can’t say if I’m going to miscarry or not. It could just be a harmless bleed or it might turn into a miscarriage. They were very nice but said I’ve just got to wait and see basically. Has anyone had this before?

I feel so lost now and don’t know what to do.

BeaKind · 24/04/2023 12:36

Also should add they didn’t mention having an ultrasound. I asked if a scan could tell us anything more and she said no. So I don’t even know if the baby is ok.

Now I’m wondering if I should book a private scan but I only had my 12 week scan on Friday.

OrionNebula · 24/04/2023 12:53

@BeaKind keeping everything crossed for you. You must be so stressed, I can't even begin to imagine.

@katherine123x @ttcttc yours sound very similar to what I am getting now.

peonygirl · 24/04/2023 13:02

@BeaKind I am so sorry, this doesn't sounds like a good treatment, surely they should do the scan. I have been bleeding in week 6 and was totally distraught. I called 111 and got a wonderful GP who really took the time, checked everything with me over the phone and effectively I was told to rest. I had a private scan booked for 2 days after that. I would book a private scan if you are still bleeding today, it will be easier to prepare/accept if there's no heartbeat and it will calm you down if there's some bleeding seen inside the womb because you know that will need to come out. I hope with everything in me that the baby is fine and you stop bleeding. I can only imagine the stress you are under and the only advice I can share is what my psychologist said at week 6 - if the body recognizes that the baby is not equipped for life, it will stop supporting it. As cruel as that sounds, it also calmed me down in awareness that I cannot do anything but accept. Try to take care of yourself, take sick leave, have a rest and be as calm as you can, so your body doesn't flood with adrenaline and hype you up. I am thinking of you ❤

MeganC104 · 24/04/2023 13:04

How long did it take to get combined screening results back? Mine were only done on Fri but I had an issue last time so just a little anxious

SillyOldBear3 · 24/04/2023 13:45

@BeaKind sorry to hear your in limbo. I'm surprised they didn't offer you a scan, it would at least help you to feel slightly less stressed if you knew baby was currently OK. Could you ring your midwife and ask her advice? She could maybe offer a Doppler scan to check heartbeat?
My sister in law bled several times through out her pregnancy and baby was fine.
Make sure you are resting, I would spend the next day or two in bed with some Netflix. Take care and sending positive thoughts your way xx

Hi @BeaKind hope you're ok. I can't understand why they can't scan you. I went to a and e yesterday as I had a small amount of bleeding, it was mucusy discharge but I've had a mc before so think I panicked. I rang pregnancy who said to go to a and e. The gynae doctor seen me, took my bloods, checked my wee, done my blood pressure, temp etc and done an internal examination and felt my stomach. They've given me hormones as a precaution and not too concerned except I'm getting cramps, but they're also going to scan me this week (next couple of days he said they'd ring) I can't see why they can't scan you for piece of mind. Could you try and push through your midwife?

MamaNicz · 24/04/2023 14:39

Belatedly marking my place! I seem to have completed missed thread 5! 🤣
13+5 today with 2nd baby. Had my 12 week scan last Monday and due date now 25/10/23.
Had my screening results through today and all low risk for genetic conditions but there was an extra letter saying one of my hormone levels is low and I’ll need a uterine artery Doppler between 20-24 weeks and growth scans for the rest of my pregnancy - no further explanation so cue the panicking!! Thankfully I’ve managed to find on my online notes that I’ve got low PAPP-A so I’ve been able to read up on it a bit. Anyone got this or had it previously?
Also feeling a bit meh/guilty as saw consultant after my 12 week scan and she’s put a paediatric alert out which means a paediatrician has to be in the room when baby is born to check it over straight away due to me taking fluoxetine in pregnancy even though my GP said it’s safe for me to take. Definitely saying goodbye to the home birth I was hoping for this time 😞

LaVitesse2022 · 21/04/2023 18:23

@bigblueocean I'm also due the 13th :) Hadn't realised it's a Friday 13th! 😄

We've got a boy and girl name sorted, and looking forward to finding out at 20 weeks. We're getting married in July so planning a gender reveal to the family and close friends through the wedding cake 😋

Congratulations @LaVitesse2022 how exciting to have a wedding to look forward to as well. I hope there's not much planning left and it all goes smoothly; the gender reveal cake is a wonderful idea too, such a lovely addition to the day.

As others have mentioned, the likelihood is the little ones won't be born on their due date, but I do find it quite funny telling people it's Friday 13th.

I have my 16 week scan tomorrow (few days early) and am looking forward to some reassurance. Do keep me posted on how you're doing. 🤗

LR94 · 24/04/2023 15:15

@BeaKind sorry to hear this, they should have scanned you really. When I had a bleed they scanned me and could see the bleed came from the hematoma and the baby was fine.
I would book a private scan and see what they say, just for peace of mind you want to check that baby is all okay.
I think thats really bad of the nhs to not scan you, it seems like they are happy to just do the bare minimum.
Hopefully you get some answers soon xxx

bigblueocean · 24/04/2023 15:28

@BeaKind I hope you're holding up OK, that must be so worrying. If you can book a private scan please do; it's the only way you'll get peace of mind. I did that after I bled at 5 weeks and it really reassured me. I have everything crossed for you. Sending a big hug.

@Onethingiwantfor23 I'm confused as to wether I have bad congestion (a pregnancy symptom of week 15/16) or hay fever at the moment. I seem to be getting ALL the symptoms. Like you i've read conflicting advice and i'm staying away from antihistamines. Not much fun is it! Hope it eases soon.

LaylaHL2023 · 24/04/2023 15:47

Scan today, due 28th October. Back for quad blood test as baby turned straight after the picture. 😊

Alexandra07 · 24/04/2023 15:47

@BeaKind i am sorry you are going through this. They should have checked the baby to give you peace of mind, at least for now. I started bleeding in a previous pregnancy, obstetrician checked baby with a scan, said everything was ok, I was 7 weeks, but bleeding got worse after a few days and I miscarried at 8 weeks. When I miscarried there was a lot of blood, no question I had a miscarriage. Since you had a scan only recently I would wait a few days before having another one. There is really nothing you can do to change the outcome, positive or negative. If you miscarry it will be because there is an issue with the baby and your body knows s/he will not make it. At the same time, there are a lot of others who had bleeding throughout the pregnancy and had a healthy baby. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. xx

bigblueocean · 24/04/2023 16:34

@peonygirl @Sav96 Sending big hugs re the nausea. I'm almost 16 weeks and still constantly nauseous, vomiting multiple times a day, 12 times just last night! I'm completely exhausted. I've had the anti nausea tablets from doctor, ginger, peppermint and B6 chewies, eating small and more often, avoiding certain foods - but the only thing that actually helps is rest, sleep and unfortunately coca cola!

Alexandra07 · 24/04/2023 16:38

@LaylaHL2023 congratulations! Lovely picture! We have the same due date!

LaVitesse2022 · 24/04/2023 16:39

@BeaKind I'm so sorry you're in limbo, they should have scanned you to give you some peace of mind or at least know what's happening. I would book a private scan too, like others said there's nothing we can do to control the outcome but at least you get some clarity on what's happening (hopefully). I have my fingers crossed it's positive news for you very soon x
