@katherine123x I’ve flown a few times since being pregnant (all short haul) and would definitely recommend wearing leggings for comfort. A flight around 7 weeks was terrible as I felt so sick but I’ve flown more recently and was much better. Just make sure you have water with you, and perhaps an aisle seat if you are worried about sickness. Have a good flight.

PrimarilyParented · 22/04/2023 16:00

@EMcG3 congratulations, being the only boy out of the 10 grandchildren will certainly be interesting for him.

Chanteuse · 22/04/2023 16:10

@VictoriaBlossom my hair is the opposite, it’s super thick (it was already thick) and it’s gone dead long! The only thing I’ve noticed is a bit of breakage near my roots but I’m now thinking this make just be more hair growing in 🙈

@peonygirl my next scan is 12th June too, does feel an age away. If your midwives use an app I found my screening results were on there after 4 working days whereas I still don't have the letter yet so worth keeping an eye on.

For those in the in-between normal & maternity clothes stage - hairband looped through button hole & around the button gives you a bit of extra room on jeans etc. I WFH so just have them undone mostly now

Sorry to jump on. I have the app and been checking but not there yet. Do they go on as a 1 in how ever many result

VictoriaBlossom · 22/04/2023 19:16

@Hopefulx well I feel less upset knowing someone else has the issue. My mum went on about how thick and healthy my hair will be a few weeks ago.
And yesterday I pointed out how bitty it was 😂 she agreed

VictoriaBlossom · 22/04/2023 19:22

For everyone on the flight conversation.... I have a flight to Jamaica in 6 weeks. Absolutely dreading it.
Will wear a maxi dress and my boyfriend offered to pay to upgrade our seats to premium but I'm gutted to find out Tui are refusing to upgrade our seats as all 22 people in our group aren't flying premium and they have said it's all or nothing.
Anyone work for Tui on here that can help me on how to convince them it's in their interests to let me fly premium because they are in rows of 2 and when I walk up and down I won't disturb a 3rd passenger?
As I'll be wanting a window seat if he's paying £150 for me to sit there 😂

SlowlyGainingConfidence · 22/04/2023 19:57

Yes mine did, 1 in xx, then said low risk & gave a score too

BeaKind · 22/04/2023 22:18

Lol @VictoriaBlossom I don’t work for TUI but just love that you are demanding an upgrade. Can you just book an extra legroom seat at the bulkhead online? (I guess we’re not allowed in emergency exits).

We’re flying to the Caribbean in a couple of weeks and just going wing it if you pardon the pun 😝

VictoriaBlossom · 22/04/2023 22:20

@BeaKind wish i could be demanding about it. That isn't the case.
Been with OH 4 and a bit years and this is our first holiday abroad, and he really wants to make it special and comfortable for me

VanillaOat · 22/04/2023 22:25

Had my gender scan today and I’m having a little girl 🥹💕 not stopped crying happy tears all day, it’s a feeling like no other now I know who’s in there!

I went to window to the womb and they were amazing, got a 10% discount code I saw advertised by an influencer on Instagram - ‘LIV10’ if anybody else needs it! Was a little bit disappointed with the photos tbh but all in all, it was such a lovely experience!

Saturnsmoon · 22/04/2023 22:54

Congratulations @VanillaOat 💕

We have a long haul flight in 5 weeks but as a total one off treat we are flying business class so very excited about that - knowing me I’ll be wanting to make the most of the experience and won’t actually sleep at all. I then have another long haul flight when I’m 6.5/7 months and dreading it a bit as for that one we will be in economy and I’ll obviously be bigger/more uncomfortable. Anyway shouldn’t complain, we’re travelling for weddings so will just be lovely to be with our friends and family.

DancingNancies · 22/04/2023 22:56

@EMcG3 congratulations on your boy (amd to everyone else who has found out recently)! How funny though, we'll have to see how my 20w scan turns out at the end of May!

Still in normal clothes, though that's usually comfy trousers and dresses - was pleasantly surprised when my jeans fit this morning though - we even went out for a big lunch and I didn't feel uncomfortable after! Enjoying it while it lasts, as with my second it suddenly popped and I was huge almost overnight!🙈

OrionNebula · 22/04/2023 23:28

I've done Ireland-UK and back, Dublin-Brussels and Dublin-Lanzarote since I was pregnant. All fine but definitely second those saying wear dresses not trousers/jeans. Much more comfortable.

lostfrequencies · 23/04/2023 03:19

Was anyone else starting to form a bump, but it seems to have gone? I'm only 14 weeks so realise it was likely mostly bloat, but it was definitely there. Now my stomach has gone soft again. It's my second baby, DS is 6, and I've lost weight since being pregnant with him so I was expecting to show earlier generally. Can't help but feel slightly paranoid about it, it's like I woke up this morning and it's gone.

DSP21 · 23/04/2023 06:32

For those of you travelling, i’ve seen some of you are heading to the carribean, is there not still a high Zika risk there and therefore not safe for pregnant women to travel? I’ve constantly been checking so we can book places to go for the summer but finding we are so limited! Already had to cancel Brazil and Bali when we found out!

BeaKind · 23/04/2023 06:42

@VictoriaBlossom that’s so sweet of him 🥰 really hope you can sort it. Usually airlines are accommodating if it means they’re getting more money out of you 🤞 Jamaica will be amazing!

@DSP21 it may be worth looking at the individual countries as where we’re going has no risk. I think the risk for others is quite low. We were looking at St. Lucia and it says there’s a risk but the last known case looks like it was 2017. We decided to go elsewhere anyway, but I do think their advice is on the safe side. A bit like saying no alcohol in pregnancy but some research has shown small amounts is ok. 😬

BeaKind · 23/04/2023 06:48

I had quite a bit of bleeding last night. Went to settle my little boy and felt like I’d wet myself. Went to the loo and there was quite a bit of blood in my pyjamas as though I’d come on my period. So scared to get out of bed this morning.

VictoriaBlossom · 23/04/2023 07:05

@DSP21
I've asked my midwife and GP.

Gp pulled up some document that said no cases of zika reported in 2022, 7 in 2021
She said to avoid the mozzy areas and enjoy my holiday.
Problem is, zika exists so they can't say otherwise but I researched the hell out of it too

Lucyjane200698 · 23/04/2023 07:16

Baby no5 due 23/10. Find out gender on 15th May x

lostfrequencies · 23/04/2023 07:54

@BeaKind oh poor love, how are things now? I had some bleeding at 17/18 weeks in my first pregnancy, it was terrifying. I went to A&E and was checked out there, everything was fine I was told that lots of women have unexplained bleeding in their pregnancy.

VictoriaBlossom · 23/04/2023 08:21

@BeaKind oh I didn't see your post about the bleeding. Have you got up yet 😭

Koalawhala · 23/04/2023 08:25

Hope you’re ok @BeaKind x

OrionNebula · 23/04/2023 08:58

@BeaKind how frightening for you, thinking of you, hope everything is ok.

@lostfrequencies when my bump first appeared it seemed to be smaller in the mornings & bigger in the evenings.

Ss32 · 23/04/2023 09:32

I’ve been on holiday twice so far in this pregnancy. It’s just been totally normal to be honest, the flying hasn’t felt any different at all

Alexandra07 · 23/04/2023 09:32

@BeaKind it can happen, but have it checked! I hope you manage to get some answers soon.

@Lucyjane200698 no5! Congratulations! You must be a pro by now! Did you have different symptoms with boys/girls?

We announced to family and some friends yesterday. Obviously family was very excited. I shared the news to the WhatsApp group I have with some friends as I wouldn't see them any time soon, only one texted me privately to check how I was, the rest just sent a congratulations message. They know that we have been trying for no2 for long time, and they all have already 2. In the past when someone from the group had announced we had long chats about it. I feel a bit deflated. I was looking forward to sharing the excitement, but it looked like they were too busy for that. Just wanted to rant!
