Is anyone still sleeping on their front? I know it's safe as long as it's comfortable but I keep waking up laid on my stomach and I can't help but worry I'm doing something wrong

Onethingiwantfor23 · 15/05/2023 09:03

@firstlittlefrazzleontheway Yes! It's the only way I've ever slept. I spoke to the midwife on my booking appointment and she said it's fine and either my bump or boobs will stop it eventually. I'm 17 weeks now and my boobs have been horrendously sore throughout but I can't sleep any other way.

firstlittlefrazzleontheway · 15/05/2023 09:13

@Onethingiwantfor23 I did think that. It became uncomfortable for a while on my tummy but now that the bloating is gone and I'm all bump it's got more comfortable again, I think I need to enjoy it while I canFlowers

Saturnsmoon · 15/05/2023 10:07

I’m a back sleeper and despite best efforts keep waking up on my back instead of my side. I’ve got a side sleeper pregnancy pillow which is helping a bit but can’t help but freak out a little bit every time I wake up on my back either. Good to hear your midwife said it’s ok, will check with mine at my appt next week.

VanillaOat · 15/05/2023 11:25

Hi ladies, I’m 19 weeks 2 days now and started feeling movements a few days ago which is just the best feeling ever!! I’d recommend having a bath, as that’s where I first felt her ❤️

I’m just a bit confused as my bump is already quite big and it’s my first baby! I did have 2 back to back pregnancies right before this one that ended in MC, so I wonder if because I’ve technically been ‘pregnant’ since September, I’ve got a bump sooner than usual?

I’ve attached some pictures and for reference I was a size 10 before. Is anybody else’s bump fairly big? Btw - don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the bump.. just conscious she’s gonna be a big baby 😂😂😂

So sorry for your previous losses and huge congrats on your little one who looks very comfy in there!

I'm also usually a size 10, 18 weeks today and my bump is about the same size as yours Smile

Like you I am loving having a bump but also wondering how big she is going to end up being!

VanillaOat · 15/05/2023 12:55

@monsteramunch is this one your first too?

I went to a gig last weekend and so many people noticed I was pregnant in the crowd, two ladies tried to make a barrier around me to save me getting squashed 😂😂 so that’s one benefit of showing early I guess!

both me and my partner were big babies, so I’m expecting a chunk

Smiffette · 15/05/2023 13:27

I'm 18 weeks tomorrow and this is second baby!

I feel big already! I've put on about a stone and 5lbs, I was a size 12 before!

This is my now! when I look at full term pics from last time I see I have a lot of growing to do but still makes me feel big now!

@Smiffette😍😍 you look amazing! Did you start showing earlier this time then?

@doeandfawnthank you! I have stocked up on midi dresses for summer as they’re so comfy.. This one was only £18: https://www.asos.com/prd/204788059?acquisitionsource=pasteboard

@Lucyjane200698 congratulations 💙

Smiffette · 15/05/2023 13:59

@VanillaOat aww thank you 😊
Yes I definitely did! At 9 weeks things started to feel tight!

We started taking photos every 2 weeks (that pic was only the second one though) so I can compare to my first pregnancy! The bump is slightly bigger and slightly different shape.

I am so happy it's warmer now! Will definitely be living in maxi and midi dresses!

@Lucyjane200698 we had a very similar photo 😂

Yes my first one too! We are so excited.

Can I ask where your dress and shoes are from? I really need to bite the bullet and just spend some money on some clothes that actually fit me.

I completely agree lots of people are very nice when they see a bump - I've had some people insist on giving me their train seats already and to be honest my back hurts so much I've ended up taking them up on it!

monsteramunch · 15/05/2023 15:37

Just saw you posted a link to the dress, thanks @VanillaOat!

If you're usually a 10, what size did you go for to accommodate the bump? Handy having someone the same size to ask!

VanillaOat · 15/05/2023 15:47

@monsteramunch I got a medium in the dress! Think it’s out of stock but I would set a notification on it and I’m sure it’ll come back in. There are loads of other similar on there too!

And the shoes are dr marten sandals, also new from ASOS. I’ve treated myself as they’re so so comfy and my other pair are battered now 😂

LaVitesse2022 · 15/05/2023 16:17

@VanillaOat and @Smiffette your bumps look lovely! 💕 I'm 18+3 and this was mine yesterday. Definitely bigger towards end of the day than when I wake up but under non-fitted clothes don't think you can tell yet that I'm pregnant. Have had to buy maternity trousers though, and tops are just a matter of weeks now.

I've been living in my lululemon leggings that are super soft and expand over belly without feeling constricting. Have had to buy sports bras bc old ones not enough support now and sports shorts are ffeling too tight too.

Anyone recommend good maternity sportswear? 🙂

Alexandra07 · 15/05/2023 16:39

Lovely bumps everyone!
@VanillaOat I am sorry for your losses. I had a MC at 8 weeks just before this pregnancy, I did feel that my body hadn't returned to the way it was before pregnancy but it's my second pregnancy so I can't really tell how much difference this made.

Chanteuse · 15/05/2023 17:39

I’ve definitely popped last week/this week. I’m 19+1! I’ve had to buy some maternity bras because mine are so uncomfortable at the moment

notvsure · 15/05/2023 17:55

These bump pics make me feel better! I'm 16w tomorrow and today is def the first day where theres more bump than bloat!
Have also stocked up on midi/maxi dresses - hoping i'll get some use ouot of them after too!

katherine123x · 15/05/2023 18:48

Maternity bra suggestions ladies please! 🙏🏼 even my sports bras are uncomfortable

monsteramunch · 15/05/2023 19:05

For anyone looking at bras for sore / ever growing boobs, I got these and they've been a game changer. Took me ages to find some decent ones so thought I would share!

Super comfy and soft, no digging in and light padding that doesn't feel noticeable to wear but also means I'm not going to take someone's eye out 😂

£20 for a pack of three.

I'm usually a size 10 and boobs are currently roughly a 28E (ish) now and the large is just right. The straps are adjustable but thick enough they won't cut in. Reckon I'll definitely need the XXL by October!

LaVitesse2022 · 15/05/2023 19:11

@monsteramunch thanks for the rec! I'm currently living in this one from Uniqlo, no seams, super soft and comfortable and with a bit of padding: https://www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/product/ultra-relax-wireless-bra-455205.html

The only thing is that the straps are too wide now for summer I think. And at £20 is much pricier than the M&S ones above - will definitely check those out!

I applaud everyone's bravery for wearing dresses without tights/shorts underneath. Never worth the thigh chafe for me.
