I also agree that NCT or similar classes are great for meeting people, we’re still great friends with two other couples from our group 8 years on. It was so lovely to have that support in the very early days too, having people going through exactly the same stage as you, also up at night etc was great. You just can’t get that from friends with older kids because we all forget what it’s like with a first born in those early days.

It’s a big expense though and perhaps things have moved on and it’s easier to meet people online now? I’ve heard the Peanut app is good

Koalawhala · 10/05/2023 15:54

I’ve had my consultant appt through and it’s for a phone call, anyone else had this? No one seems to be able to give me a definite answer on whether I could give birth naturally after fracturing my pelvis a couple of years ago so hoping she’ll have some good input. I’m assuming I’ll have a c section but will see what she says

peonygirl · 10/05/2023 15:55

@Koalawhala yes, I have a phone appointment with a consultant in two weeks. Not sure how specific the conversation will be but I don't expect a long session if it is over the phone.

Koalawhala · 10/05/2023 16:00

@peonygirl maybe that’s just how they do the first meetings now. How are you doing now?

peonygirl · 10/05/2023 16:06

@Koalawhala thank you for checking up on me. I am doing better today, yesterday was really tough. My symptoms are also easing (less nauseous) and as long as I take it easy, I hope I'll be ok. Hard to predict anything, I am not planning anything just taking one day at the time.

Midnight00 · 10/05/2023 17:23

@Summer022 Me too! Really similar dream last night about someone breaking in to the house... very unnerving and I've never woken and then returned to same dream... Hormones? Worry? Who knows what the reason is for vivid dreams in pregnancy

SillyOldBear3 · 10/05/2023 17:27

Anyone else unnervingly symptom free? I'm 17 weeks.. at 16 weeks I had one day of obvious movement, where I would feel baby kick if I changed position when lying down. Since then, I've felt nothing.. no movement and no symptoms other than the slightly sore boobs. My 20 week scan is 3 weeks away and the wait is stressing me out!

katherine123x · 10/05/2023 17:30

@SillyOldBear3 midwife told me last week it's common to not feel the baby for a good few days at this stage ... so don't worry too much!!

NSx · 10/05/2023 17:32

16w scan came back all clear 🥹🩵 so relieved … I’ll have a 20w scan in 4 weeks.

my baby was upside down the entire time and it was almost impossible to get a picture- was anyone else’s baby like this too 😂😅

monsteramunch · 10/05/2023 17:35

Aah that's brilliant news @NSx congrats! Isn't it amazing seeing them just chilling in there?! Or larking about in our case 😂

Koalawhala · 10/05/2023 17:49

You’ve had a rough pregnancy so far @peonygirl, I really hope things improve for you x

katherine123x · 10/05/2023 17:55

@NSx our baby has been awkward the whole time. Never get a good photo. He's always upside down 😂

Alexandra07 · 10/05/2023 18:02

@Koalawhala I had my first meeting with the endocrinologist consultant Face to Face and then he booked me for a telephone consultation. My 16 week appointment with the obs consultant is face to face. Maybe it depends on the reason you see a consultant.

DancingNancies · 10/05/2023 19:25

@SillyOldBear3 I could have written your post! Other than brushing my teeth still making me gag, no symptoms. Can feel baby going mad one day, then nothing for a week or so! Had 16w appt yesterday (at 17+1) and all was fine - normal in this weird limbo between scans to be symptom-free and full of stress!

NSx · 10/05/2023 19:38

@monsteramunch @katherine123x
my 13 week scan was lovely and clear - I literally have 2 pics from this scan, one of the face and one of the face and half their body as they were upside down 😂😂😂😂😂 and they were absolutely not for budging 🥲

better luck next time. How are you ladies getting on? X

SillyOldBear3 · 10/05/2023 20:36

@katherine123x that's reassuring at least! I find it so strange that baby was so active for one day. Kicks were quite high up too so maybe he/she was in a handstand position or something 🤷‍♀️

@DancingNancies this limbo stage is really weird isn't it! Really hoping I start feeling baby move soon just for some reassurance between scans! My bump is definitely growing though.. that must be a good sign!

yeeep! unless being more grumpy and slightly down is a symptom. I'm 17 weeks today. I did have a gender scan on Saturday and they said that I have an anterior placenta. I keep thinking I feel a movement but can't be sure, and they're days appart 😣 20 week scan 3 weeks tomorrow..

katherine123x · 10/05/2023 20:40

@SillyOldBear3 very possible that baby has nuzzled back in far back and then at this point it's rare to feel it!! 😊 Don't panic, I usually find i can feel mine when I just lay quietly and relax but sometimes I don't. Just depends where he is and he may well be asleep 😂

OrionNebula · 10/05/2023 21:12

Definitely empathise with the feeling of being in limbo! I'm 18 weeks and movements are starting to get more regular if still quite faint. But a couple of weeks ago I was super anxious as movements were so intermittent. 20 week scan is on 29th, I really hope after that I might start to relax a bit more and actually start getting properly excited!

SillyOldBear3 · 10/05/2023 21:27

@Elttek I've been a bit grumpy too, I've been blaming work for being stressful but I don't usually let it get to me. An anterior placenta would decide make it harder to feel movement. I haven't had a scan since 12 weeks but nothing was mentioned about mine being anterior..

@katherine123x you're right, probably just nuzzled, comfy and lazy! I do feel like I have the odd little fluttering feeling when I'm lying in bed, but nothing definite and could easily be gas 🙃

@OrionNebula glad you're starting to feel baby more 💕 hopefully mine will get more obvious soon! I'm 17+2 so not far behind you!

OrionNebula · 10/05/2023 21:40

@SillyOldBear3 fingers crossed you will, it's definitely got more regular for me in the last few days.

LR94 · 11/05/2023 07:58

I had my gender scan yesterday and i’m having a little girl 💗 i’ve also got an anterior placenta so i’m not sure when i’m supposed to be feeling movement or how strong they would even be xxx

doeandfawn · 11/05/2023 08:16

@LR94 congrats on your baby girl!

firstlittlefrazzleontheway · 11/05/2023 08:27

I started with a small red mark on my face on Monday which was itching but thought it may have been heat rash, this morning my whole face is itching and the rash has spread across both of my cheeks, does anyone know if this is something I should be worried about?

katherine123x · 11/05/2023 09:19

Omg. Just took me 15 mins to hang out my washing. Normally takes 5!! Anyone noticing already things are just taking longer? 😂😂
