It's a boy!

Is that the result of your scan? :) Congrats!

katherine123x · 07/05/2023 12:10

@peonygirl yep!! Had it this morning. Definite boy!! 😂💙

Yay I am so happy for you! You seem super pleased with the result so even more happy for you. I am now very curious about mine 😂How exciting!

Do you have a name selected already? I have both names selected so no stress there, I have made my choices about 10 years ago when I first started to try for a baby so it is a long time coming.

katherine123x · 07/05/2023 12:38

@peonygirl typically we had a girls name and no boys at all! 😂

Chanteuse · 07/05/2023 12:41

@katherine123x same here! We’ve whittled it down to three now I think 🤦🏻‍♀️

peonygirl · 07/05/2023 12:51

@katherine123x @Chanteuse you have plenty of time to select a name you both like. When I was born my mum didn't have the name - I was a preemie and delivered in less than 2h. My mum was so overwhelmed she chose to select the name the next day. I always appreciated she took the time :) because my name is easy to pronounce and as I travel a lot, I never had any issues from anyone with pronunciation or spelling. That was also my main objective when I thought of the name I'd give to my child. I have selected something short (4 letters) and easy to remember/pronounce.

@katherine123x I must have missed this this morning 🤍 congratulations on your boy!! 💙

SillyOldBear3 · 07/05/2023 17:53

@katherine123x Congratulations! 💙 I can't wait to find out... 22 days until my 20 week scan!

Midnight00 · 07/05/2023 18:37

Congrats @katherine123x How exciting to find out! Wondering if you predicted that from 12 wk scan photo?
Got my 20 week scan in 8 days, cannot wait to find out

katherine123x · 07/05/2023 20:48

@Midnight00 we had two awkward scans 12 and 14 weeks. Baby was never playing ball you couldn't see a thing. However I've thought it was a boy since day one!!

Does anybody have their belly button pierced? If so, can anyone recommend a bar suitable for pregnancy please? 💕

VanillaOat · 07/05/2023 23:23

Thank you so much @Needtobuildabridge ❤️

Natacat · 08/05/2023 08:43

Hi everyone, think I’ve missed at least two threads!

looking for advice, I have had a really bad belly since yesterday afternoon, I think I ate something bad at a fair I was at.

pretty worried about it as I get super anxious anyway, but would you be contacting the midwife about it?

I’m trying to rehydrate as best as i can but I’m just concerned about actual food poisoning and the damage it could do??

doeandfawn · 08/05/2023 09:32

@Natacat if you have midwife’s number I would text her just to make sure. How bad is stomach? If nothing kept down for a period of 24 hours you should phone maternity triage (or that’s what my region does at least).

Alexandra07 · 08/05/2023 09:33

@Natacat my midwife doesn't really want to hear from me before 18 weeks, if you are less than 18 weeks call 111. I hope it's nothing serious and you feel better soon! x

@katherine123x congratulations! When you first posted about being a boy I thought you were talking about the 3d scan!

Natacat · 08/05/2023 09:51

I’m 17+3 so under 18 weeks. It’s only been since yesterday afternoon so I guess not long enough to be actually worried.

I don’t think I’ve been given a mobile number for midwife, only the generic maternity unit one I believe.
it’s just miserable and it doesn’t help the anxiety when you are assuming things will go wrong at any moment

Saturnsmoon · 08/05/2023 10:18

@Natacat sorry you are ill. Not sure what to advise re getting in touch with midwife but I think if you are still actively sick after 24 hours of it starting I would get in touch with somebody. Also when I had awful food poisoning in first trimester and couldn’t keep any fluids down the only thing that helped was sucking ice cubes - just in case you are struggling with that too. Hope you feel better soon!

NSx · 08/05/2023 11:08

@Natacat food poisoning itself won’t do any damage and will pass naturally through you. The problem lies if you get severely dehydrated. I think you just need to push fluids and rest and see how you feel tomorrow - typically if you don’t feel better after 48h or you are severely dehydrated I would contact midwife/gp, but at this stage there’s not much that can be done. Are you managing to drink plenty of fluids? 🤍 hope you start to feel better soon.

AlongcameLainey · 08/05/2023 11:50

@katherine123x congratulations on your baby boy! Team blue for you 💙

Has anyone found their bump has disappeared?
I had a noticeable bump up until a few days ago where is has now completely disappeared. I’m 15+5 and i’m actually quite concerned, i’ve tried to google it but nothing really comes up. Has anyone found their bump has changed dramatically? Not sure why this has happened, I know alot of the time it can be bloating etc but its extremely smaller xxx

Hey. I'm 16 weeks today, baby no5. Haven't felt anything yet! X

Summer022 · 08/05/2023 17:57

No bump and no movements here. Nearly 16 weeks but have my private gender scan at the weekend so I’m looking forward to that.
