@ttcttc , by any chance are you an IVF patient or on additional progesterone/oestrogen medicine? I had an awfully itchy rash which looked like chicken pox from weeks 11-15, until I came off all my medication. My cousin had the exact same until she came off her IVF meds. I found the only thing which really helped was having porridge baths! That gave me about 5 hrs relief. I put porridge oats into a sock, tied it and put into a bath. After a while of soaking in it, I took the sock and rubbed it all over the rash. It is so so horrible- I was similarly tearing the skin off myself, night and day!! I really hope it doesn't last much longer for you ❤️

I took progesterone for two days as a precaution but I was itching well before that and much after stopping. I'm also near 16 week now. I'm not ivf. Hopefully it eases soon x

NSx · 03/05/2023 18:14

@ttcttc yes it’s extremely annoying as I’ve been sitting waiting patiently for this illusive letter 😅👻 … they also advised they don’t give results over the phone.
I wanted to know my numbers 😂😅

Alexandra07 · 03/05/2023 18:31

@NSx that's so frustrating! My midwife could give me results through the phone.

I was crying earlier reading about the Dunkirk evacuation. I can't even remember anymore why I started reading about it! Anyone else crying for random things?

VictoriaBlossom · 03/05/2023 18:32

@NSx
I won't lose money because my car is now worth more than I paid due to new car price increase.

A vito is a van, but I've had a crew cab. So basically a v class (I've wanted one for ages as I've got the house renovation to begin

Fly to JA on 31/5 can't bloody wait. Don't feel like I've got a bump yet. Just look a bit chubby!!!
Have you got a bump? X

LaVitesse2022 · 03/05/2023 18:38

Had my 16 week appt yestreday. Was super fast, just had bloods taken and blood pressure measured and that was basically it. I'm rhesus negative so waiting for results of baby's bloods to see if I need an anti-D injection. Just got them this morning on the Patient Knows Best but it just says "Cell Free Fetal Dna report null". No idea if that means it's inconclusive or baby is negative too so no worries 🤷‍♀️

Anyone with experience of this?

NSx · 03/05/2023 20:35

@Alexandra07 it wasn’t my midwife that I spoke to, it was the antenatal dept at a diff hospital than the one my midwife is based (don’t ask) so she said they don’t give them over the phone, so guess I’ll just have to wait 🕰️😂

@VictoriaBlossom ahhh ok so you’re going with the minibus then 😂😅 good luck I would be terrified parking that.
Are you doing the renovation yourself?
I’m flying out to Spain for 4 days on the 26th, so I’m also looking forward to getting out the country. I worked for an airline for 9 years, so this last year has been the longest time I’ve spent in the one place 😂 it’s bizarre and I miss flying 😅💖Nope I don’t have a bump, I’m a bit round but no bump 😅

@LaVitesse2022 I’m also rhesus negative, I don’t have a clue what all that means, I have my 16w midwife appt next Friday the 12th so will find out more then I presume - let me know how you get on. 💛

monsteramunch · 03/05/2023 21:20

We're having our private gender scan tomorrow, so wondered if anyone wants to have a guess based on our 13 week scan picture... and I can report back tomorrow afternoon when we find out whether it's a little boy or girl!

Due October 2023 - thread 6
firstlittlefrazzleontheway · 03/05/2023 21:25

@monsteramunch I think boy, though I'm definitely no expert on nub theory I'm going off my 12 week scan☺️

Ss32 · 03/05/2023 21:33

@monsteramunch im guessing boy too!

VictoriaBlossom · 03/05/2023 21:50

@NSx yep. Mini bus life for a period of time. We will renovate as in choose what we want etc but the hard work or time consuming work we will just pay for. Our theory is use the tradespeople who have trained for their jobs. They couldn't do our jobs so why should we try and do theirs.
Plus, we are gonna be getting the keys in July, so to renovate a 1993 4 bed detached in 3 months is gonna be tight. Even though the tradespeople are all now booked

VictoriaBlossom · 03/05/2023 21:51

@NSx what's the crack with wearing stockings for flying. Do you know?

Elttek · 03/05/2023 23:07

@monsteramunch I think boy too!

doeandfawn · 04/05/2023 08:09

@Alexandra07 everything is setting me off right now, you’re not alone!

@monsteramunch skull theory is boy ❤️enjoy your scan!

NSx · 04/05/2023 08:58

@monsteramunch i also think boy 💛

@VictoriaBlossom yes! My mum got me compression stockings, you need to wear them any flights over 3h - 😂
Ah I thought you already had the keys - yea it’s too much to do in 3 months. We moved into a new build 4 bed detached last year and it’s still nowhere near done 😂😂😂 I’m not in a rush, would like my nursery to be atleast done by October 😂

peonygirl · 04/05/2023 10:33

@monsteramunch I also think a boy :)

@VictoriaBlossom Compression socks are great for longer flights, they make my legs light as a feather. Without them I have trouble sleeping the first night after the flight.

@Alexandra07 crying is normal, we are flooded with hormones, I get triggered by most unusual situations - I love the BBC show Race across the World and whenever a stranger helps the participants, I am in flood of tears :) So I'd say Dunkirk is much more justifiable reason for shedding tears than my travel show haha.

I am currently 14 + 4 and still throwing up and experiencing nausea. I so envy everyone who's travelling, it is driving me nuts not being able to go anywhere, I usually travel at least 4x a year. I am already telling the baby that we will go on a first trip right after we establish sleeping/feeding pattern and he/she will have no say in that - we're going :)

monsteramunch · 04/05/2023 10:40

@Alexandra07 I cried watching a programme about the final days of the dinosaurs, imagining them being frightened of the asteroid. I'm emotional at the best of times but even for me that was ridiculous!

It's so interesting everyone says boy - the sonographer at our 13 week scan for that picture said she'd take a punt on girl if she had to choose and everyone on here said girl last time too to the same picture on a different thread!

It's silly isn't it as I know it's always 50/50 and the 13 week scan isn't reliable but I had it in my head that they are a girl so will be strange now if they aren't! After so long trying though, I'm obviously just so so happy either way!

Saturnsmoon · 04/05/2023 11:26

Keep us posted @monsteramunch !

Also thanks for the reminder re compression socks, going to order some tonight for my upcoming holiday.

LWestYorks · 04/05/2023 16:44

Is anyone suffering with pregnancy migraines or similar? For the last week I’ve got a constant full head and also feeling on and off dizzy. I’ve had my BP checked which is fine. Didn’t know if they were a bit more common between this time. I’m 17+4 x

Smiffette · 04/05/2023 18:38

@LWestYorks last week I had a horrible headache for 4 days straight, wasn't a full blown migraine, but it was such hard work with a toddler!

I had my MW 16 week appointment today, she tried to find the heartbeat but couldn't, she said baby is really low down and with my placenta at the front it's tricky. So she has booked me in to try again tomorrow morning. trying to stay calm and not overthink it, especially as she wasn't concerned and what she was saying was perfectly reasonable

AlongcameLainey · 04/05/2023 19:54

I had my 16 week appointment yesterday with another different midwife (still not met my actual midwife)

They told me my iron is low…. My last blood test was 8 weeks ago and they are only now telling me this?!

The last few days I’ve been an absolute hormonal mess too which hasn’t helped 🤣

NSx · 04/05/2023 19:57

@AlongcameLainey that is a bit unusual. Normally if your bloods come back low on something they contact your GP to get a script done. It happened to me last time and I was given aspirin.
I have my 16w appt a week tomorrow & they won’t even tell me my results over the phone 🤣🤣🤣

Koalawhala · 04/05/2023 19:58

Good to stay calm @Smiffette, I’m sure that what the midwife was saying is perfectly valid, I think the reason they don’t use the Doppler now is due to these kind of senarios and the worry they can cause. Good that you can go back tomorrow for another check

Chanteuse · 04/05/2023 20:02

I’ve just bought a lovely Moses basket from George (Asda) for less than thirty quid! Loads of different styles too. I didn’t want to spend a fortune in case babs doesn’t even like it 🤣 I did then spend a further £40 on sleeping bags, towels and muslins though 🙈

NSx · 04/05/2023 20:02

@Smiffette sorry I didn’t read your post before. I hope you’re ok, I know things like this can be stressful, but if your midwife wasn’t worried, then I wouldn’t be. Hopefully you get a better scan tomorrow 💕💕

Smiffette · 04/05/2023 20:39

@NSx @Koalawhala thank you, I'm sure it will be fine.

I have my private scan on the 14th anyway so that will put my mind at ease if they don't find it tomorrow.
