@DSP21 I haven't got a bump either.. just getting fatter 🥴

Is anyone getting cramps .. stretching probably but feel like period pain? I get them on and off everyday and sometimes they take my breath!

katherine123x · 30/04/2023 17:46

@ttcttc I've had these for about two days!

NSx · 30/04/2023 17:52

@ttcttc noooo I’m not getting one as I’m getting the egg2 travel system which will have a base with a car seat, so no point. However I’ve seen loads of people with Doona’s - they seem quite practical xx

OrionNebula · 30/04/2023 17:54

Is anyone using anything to prevent stretch marks? I used a bio oil last time and didn't get any but was just having a Google and apparently there's no scientific evidence any of those creams/oils actually work....

peonygirl · 30/04/2023 18:01

@OrionNebula I have Mama Mio cream, it has the best reviews. I haven't tried it yet because I am still not showing much. I think I have at least 2 weeks before there will be any tummy to speak of.

OrionNebula · 30/04/2023 18:32

@peonygirl thanks I might get some of that then, it's not going to do any harm anyway!

Alexandra07 · 30/04/2023 18:51

@OrionNebula I do think that stretch marks are something genetic. I didn't get any in my last pregnancy and I was using a body shop moisturiser every now and then. A friend was using a moisturizer daily, not sure what she used, got plenty of stretch marks.

LaVitesse2022 · 30/04/2023 19:32

@OrionNebula it's definitely genetic, most women get them, some women don't. And unfortunately there's nothing much we can do to prevent them if we're genetically predisposed to them. Much like celulite. Stretch marks / celulite creams are pointless.

Yes they do!

The lady in one of the shops I looked at said she would go for an egg but I'm between the mamas and papas Ocarro and venicci Tinum up line xx

monsteramunch · 30/04/2023 19:36

Any recommendations from anyone on pram systems that are relatively lightweight?

I love the iCandy Peach bundle but not sure if it's comparatively heavy versus others?

OrionNebula · 30/04/2023 19:39

@Alexandra07 @LaVitesse2022 that's interesting, I didn't know it was a genetic thing.

ttcttc · 30/04/2023 19:49

katherine123x · 30/04/2023 17:46

@ttcttc I've had these for about two days!

I've had them for just over a week. I'm sure it's just stretching but Jesus

NSx · 30/04/2023 19:54

@ttcttc I went to the baby and toddler show and tried all the prams. Tbh I went in wanting an egg and I came out confirming it was the egg I wanted 😂💖 …
I was surprised how lightweight the car seat that comes with it is 💕

@monsteramunch I was between Icandy and Egg, I found the egg pretty light. Probably best you go try them. I’m obviously going with the Egg as I mentioned above x

monsteramunch · 30/04/2023 19:58

Thanks @NSx x

Mamabear345 · 30/04/2023 20:17

@ttcttc they are the best. We had one with our first, and just bought one for this baby!
but, we also have a big pram system (Silvercross wave) too.
the Doona is great for every day errands.

I think they are definitely genetic. Didn’t get any with my first, but using the Elemis Japanese Camellia oil this time and love it

EMcG3 · 30/04/2023 20:36

@monsteramunch I find the yoyo super light, but it is worth checking out before you buy as it is not, like, an off-roading pram. I like it because I can carry the pram up with my (fairly petite) 3 year old in it up and down the 2 flights of stairs to the tube without any help.

Ss32 · 30/04/2023 20:44

I sometimes have a huge bump and other times have nothing, it’s really strange! I’m ready for just a proper bump now, I just feel like a porker now!
I would definitely recommend testing out carrying around car seats before you commit. Mine with baby1 was so so heavy, I had a section too so made it near impossible to carry for a while and then by about 6/7 months she weighed a tonne in it!

DancingNancies · 30/04/2023 22:34

I'm 16w tomorrow and haven't got a bump yet, though I can feel my belly is a little harder if I lie on my front. I didn't look pregnant even 6 months in with DS1 and even at full term I wasn't very big at all. Can't remember with DS2 when I started showing as it was lockdown so who knows what day/month it was, but I was huge by the end of it!

I'd defo advise people to go and try out buggies etc - I thought I knew what I wanted, and remember sitting crying at 6mo pregnant because I couldn't fold it down so what would I do when I had a baby there too - needless to say we went with one that can be folded one-handed and has seen me through 2 kids so far and will do the third too! 😂

DSP21 · 01/05/2023 07:05

@ttcttc

that’s my point, those worrying about not having a bump at 14 weeks needn’t worry at all!

Definitely not. Probably more unusual to have one so early than not I'd imagine.

peonygirl · 01/05/2023 20:17

Hi ladies, is any of you wearing Invisalign retainers? If so, I'd love a quick chat/advise if possible.

I hope everyone is doing well over the bank holiday weekend - it's strangely quiet on here :)

Needtobuildabridge · 01/05/2023 21:14

@peonygirl I am 😊

peonygirl · 01/05/2023 21:19

@Needtobuildabridge oh great, I'll send you a private message.

Hls93 · 01/05/2023 21:22

Hi everyone, I've been hovering in the background for a long time - just reading the posts has been so helpful up to this point!
I'm 15+1, DD 22 October!
Sorry this is completely unrelated to the pram conversation - but does anyone else suffer badly with hayvever?
Any recommendations for natural remedies, as it's a bit of a mixed bag of opinion from a medication point of view!
Thanks :)
