I can see one for this so in my excitement thought I’d start one. Due date is 1st Jan for me 😊

I’m 37 and pregnant with no. 2. We tried for 4 months so lucky not too long.

@Salamander91 I’ve got my scan tomorrow at 6+2. Did you get to see a heartbeat? DH wants to push it back to our original date in case we don’t see a heartbeat but I also want to know it’s in the right place so keen to have it sooner rather than later.

Salamander91 · 20/05/2023 21:15

@buckingmad we did yeh. 6+2 could go either way if your dates are even a couple of days off. Good luck. I hope you get to see the heartbeat.

RG9895 · 20/05/2023 21:17

Glad to see everyones scans are going well!

I have mine tomorrow and I will be 6+3, potentially a little further as I have irregular periods so hard to tell but been 3 weeks since my positive test and they say to leave it 2 šŸ¤žšŸ»

Hi everyone hoping I can join!
I'm 5+1 today and just wondering when everyone self referred to the midwives?
I've been keeping track of line progression because I've had a few chemicals in the past year so I'm afraid of referring and something happening

I’m 5+1 as well and have the booking appointment on 1st June. I’m in Leeds and here they aim to have booking appointments between 6 and 8 weeks. The recommended timeframe will vary by area though

Thanks @Salamander91 and @ThomasinaLivesHere. I suspected round ligament pain, but google seemed to suggest they come later on. I had SPD in my pregancy - so likely prone. Good to hear others have had it early on. Thanks

confused6789 · 20/05/2023 21:53

I'm in Northern Ireland and they don't tend to see you before 12 weeks (at least it was that way with my other two pregnancys).
Maybe I should just self refer now

stressshead · 20/05/2023 22:30

I'm only 4+3 and I've just had a small jelly like bit of discharge is this a bad sign
So anxious especially now I don't no what I should do x

sashastuck · 20/05/2023 22:35

@stressshead was it clear? I reckon that’s fine.

So glad people’s scans have gone well! And good luck to those having a scan this week! Can’t wait to hear all about the little heart beats šŸ˜

@confused6789 I referred quite soon, 4 weeks ish. My first baby so I think I was just keen to kick it all off!

RootsHere · 20/05/2023 22:35

@stressshead is the discharge white/clear? If so, completely normal šŸ‘

stressshead · 20/05/2023 22:39

@sashastuck @RootsHere I'd say in the middle not clear but not white like a cloudy colour sorry I'm just proper freaking out.

Thank you both for replying so quickly xx

Whoisdis · 20/05/2023 22:42

@RootsHere I'm leeds too! I'm 5+2 today and have my booking appointment I'm for 9th june so will be just over 8 weeks.

@confused6789 I contacted my gp at 4 weeks, was the Monday after testing positive on the Saturday. Wanted to get things started and with having underactive thyroid wanted to get a blood test sorted!

Salamander91 · 20/05/2023 22:51

@confused6789 hi I'm in Northern Ireland too šŸ–I'm always seen early because of a health condition so I'm not sure what it's like normally.

confused6789 · 20/05/2023 22:57

Thanks everyone, I've just filled in the self referral form there now! Suppose I may as well get the ball rolling
Hey @Salamander91 N.I seems so slow šŸ™ˆ I tend to have complicated pregnancies which I've mentioned on the form so šŸ¤ž I get seen a bit earlier too!

buckingmad · 21/05/2023 01:45

@RootsHere @Whoisdis I’m in York so not far! I self referred 2 weeks back but not heard anything yet. Going to chase them end of next week as they like to see before 8 weeks and I’ll be 7 by then.

Whoisdis · 21/05/2023 06:35

@buckingmad maybe see if you can find a number to contact them? I got directed to the mypregnancynotes website to book on and that states to contact if you haven't heard from them in 2 weeks? I had an appointment come through on the website within a few days.

I've had to fight to get my thyroid levels checked as was told ot wasn't needed so following a private gp consultation they've requested a blood test but was still reluctant. The private gp did advise upping my dosage until results back anyway. I'm a little worried as I will be 6 weeks by the time I get checked and another few days for results.

Booklover88 · 21/05/2023 06:47

@buckingmad we went for a scan at what I thought was 6+1 but sonographer thinks I was a bit earlier than that-more like 5+4. Regardless, we still saw a heartbeat and a tiny little bean! Good luck for today, hope it all goes well xx

PartRadish · 21/05/2023 08:24

Those who had scans around 6 weeks, were they able to see abdominally or were they transvaginal?

I've booked for next Saturday at 6+2 but it's just occurred to me that it might need to be TV and I'd rather wait I think (I've had dozens of TV scans but I had lots of invasive gyne investigations last year and I'd really rather avoid unless medically necessary).

suz2285 · 21/05/2023 08:40

@PartRadish it depends on the people doing the scan but last time around we struggled to see an 8 week baby from outside for me... the tv is so much clearer

This time round I've booked the place that does tv and ta as I want the option to see better!

Most places say tv up to 8-9 weeks for that reason but I know some places do do abdominal and see fine...

I'd say for 6 weeks the tv is going to be the main option but see what others say

Salamander91 · 21/05/2023 08:49

@PartRadish my scan was at 7+3 and they could see abdominally but not clearly so they did transvaginal too. I'm a size 20 with a c section overhang so might be easier if you're slim.

Booklover88 · 21/05/2023 09:18

@PartRadish mine was transvaginally, they didn’t even bother trying abdominally and I doubt they’d have been able to see anything as it was so small.

We had fertility treatment so I’ve had a lot of invasive tests too, including a pretty horrendous HSG. The scan didn’t last as long as my previous TV scans-I guess because they’re just focused on the baby rather than checking out everything like they do in normal TV scans.

buckingmad · 21/05/2023 09:38

@PartRadish i had a scan at 8 weeks last time and it was TV

RG9895 · 21/05/2023 09:49

I'm going this afternoon to my scan, I will be 6+3. They recommend transvaginal if below 10 weeks but you can choose abdominal. You just potentially will get an inconclusive result. Will let you know how it goes this afternoon ā˜ŗļø

suz2285 · 21/05/2023 09:52

Good luck @RG9895 ā¤ļø

suz2285 · 21/05/2023 09:53

@RG9895 should've written hope the scan is great rather than good luck! Morning brain! šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚
