I can see one for this so in my excitement thought I’d start one. Due date is 1st Jan for me 😊

I’m 37 and pregnant with no. 2. We tried for 4 months so lucky not too long.

@WitcheryDivine i luckily haven’t had any food aversions so my meals are ā€˜normal’ but I’ve been getting insane hunger and need to eat that second, so I’ve been having the following to hand for snacks:

  • grapes
  • carrot sticks
  • rice cakes
  • nature valley bars
  • babybels
  • oat biscuits

Probably a bit sugar heavy but easy to nibble on

Panapan · 18/05/2023 15:39

Thought I was going to be sick on the train into work this morning. Grim.
I’m also really worried about telling my boss as I feel like I’m going to be judged. It seems like everyone around me has 2 children and that is the ā€œaccepted normā€ in the professional world. This will be my 4th! People already make snide comments about me having 3.

Mummyme87 · 18/05/2023 16:10

Got my nuchal scan booked in for 6th July which is handy as I’m on annual leave for my eldest birthday. And combined bloods booked for 29th June. Booking appt will be week of 5th June, just need to check with my midwife when she’s at work that week. Eeek, exciting

buckingmad · 18/05/2023 16:29

I've just asked to bring my scan forward from 7+4 to 6+2 (this Sunday). I'm going home to my parents for a few days and to a hen party so I'd really like to have seen something (my parents already know about the pregnancy and so does the hen). I'm 99% sure on my dates so hopefully I'll see something.

I've gone off everything. Don't want meat, veg, water. Literally living off chips and crisps šŸ˜‚I'm due to start a new job when I'm 10 weeks. Absolutely dreading feeling rubbish whilst trying to impress a new boss šŸ˜‚

suz2285 · 18/05/2023 17:06

@LondonNQT the cat that usually hates people clings to me when pregnant, before I even get the bfp! Both times it's happened! šŸ˜‚

@WitcheryDivine literally no food seems good to me right now I've no idea what to eat or drink, just feel nauseous and meh about food, usually I love all food, I can't think what we're having for dinner at all

@buckingmad I just applied for an internal job today, I hate my current job but technically I have a 3 month notice period so no idea if I'll even get an interview for the new role or what but yeah I wasn't sure if I should go for it but I really don't want to be doing my current job anymore so thought i might as well try and move!

@Mummyme87 wow! I haven't even called the midwife yet and am not planning to until a few weeks down the line (as I had to cancel last time after mc) you sound very organised!!

lucya66 · 18/05/2023 17:08

@buckingmad your dh does sound like a darling! Mine is being patient with me and picking up the slack around the house. hes been eating all of the plain foods with me when I’ve felt up to cooking. haha

lucya66 · 18/05/2023 17:10

@WitcheryDivine im finding hash browns and apples have helped me get through.

i cooked a curry the other night and I think I might have ruined curry forever :( I don’t know what I was thinking. Makes me sick even thinking about it now. Too strong.

buckingmad · 18/05/2023 17:23

@suz2285 I got the job before I fell pregnant but I do still feel a bit guilty šŸ˜… but at the end of the day you need to do what is best for you.

I'm going to try and hide it for as long as possible but the last possible date I can tell them is the end of September and I doubt I'll be able to keep it hidden for that long.

WitcheryDivine · 18/05/2023 17:27

My lovely husband cooked something yesterday with chilli in it, he was so crestfallen when I wouldn’t (couldn’t) even taste it let alone eat it.

JaffaCake123 · 18/05/2023 17:46

I was away with work last night. My boss jokingly said 'Have you got something to tell me? Are you not drinking because you are pregnant?' I said I was taking antibiotics but I don't think I was very convincing. I only came back from maternity leave last month so want to leave it as long as possible before telling him šŸ˜•

Mummyme87 · 18/05/2023 18:52

@suz2285 they request to get you in asap before 7weeks to get appts at the right time. I just asked this morning about how to get a specific midwife to do my booking and was able to book the lot, otherwise would get letters etc in a couple of weeks

suz2285 · 18/05/2023 19:42

@Mummyme87 wow that's very efficient, here they won't even see you until 9 weeks then after that appointment they send your 12 weeks scan letter so goodness knows if there was any sort of delay!! šŸ˜‚

So I'm not calling them until maybe 6.5-7 weeks!

TrudyProud · 18/05/2023 19:46

@lucya66 I don't think I'll have morning sickness or any food aversion as I never had any with my daughter either. I never had cravings or anything.
Just no AF and 9 months later a gorgeous baby girl. She's 13 months old now

ThomasinaLivesHere · 18/05/2023 19:58

@suz2285 Glad to see someone else going for an internal position. One came up where I work that I’m really interested in. I think I’m going to go for it but I do feel a bit guilty that I’m not going to tell them until later. I just hope they’re a nice team and don’t resent me for it.

suz2285 · 18/05/2023 20:16

@ThomasinaLivesHere good luck! I've no idea if going for this internal will cause all sorts of hassle but I really am not enjoying my current role and it's so stressful I thought I might as well give it a try to do something else! Don't want to change company as I need the maternity pay šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

cossie13 · 18/05/2023 20:20

Wondering if I could get some advice or thoughts please?

So my dating test says 1-2 weeks, but if I go by the first day of my last period, I'm about 5 weeks (I've posted my tracking app calendar so you can see). The week after my period I have 2 days of very light bleeding that never came to anything.

Would you go by the test or the period date?

So with the clear blue tests and it says 1-2 weeks you're actually 3-4 weeks pregnant. I'm not sure how to help with the dates on your Calendar but I know with those tests that's what it means.

sashastuck · 18/05/2023 20:49

@ThomasinaLivesHere and @suz2285 good luck with going for your new positions!X

@JaffaCake123 I wish people (re: boss) would just not say anything rather than ask outright like that! I’d have gone with the antibiotics comment too!

Glad everyone’s doing okay (if not a bit nauseous!). I’ve really struggled with this possible sciatic pain today. Calling GP tomorrow as not had first midwife appointment yet. It’s been hard to walk at some points, even as I lie in bed now it hurts to roll over… this is insane for 6 weeks, no? I wonder if it could be unrelated, but to be honest I’ve barely exercised recently and it seems to be set off by sitting on the hard chairs at work.šŸ˜ž

cossie13 · 18/05/2023 20:51

@Valerie94 thank you that makes sense. You think I'd know after 2 kids already but I found out a lot later with them! I might book a dating scan for in a couple of weeks and see!

JaffaCake123 · 18/05/2023 21:04

Thanks @sashastuck it made me feel really awkward as I basically had to lie.
Hope you get the sciatica sorted, I had it when we first went into lockdown as I was suddenly sitting down for long periods of time. Moving around, gently, definitely helps.

Mummyme87 · 18/05/2023 21:04

@sashastuck my hips were really nervy today and getting pain in my pubic bone already šŸ˜‘ hope you’re sciatic pin improves. Maybe could see a physio or osteopath

Aw congratulations! This is my first I have terrible cramps though I keep thinking my period is coming, is this normal? Xx

cossie13 · 18/05/2023 21:11

@Valerie94 congratulations to you too!

From my last two, I remember cramping and thinking I was about to come on and nothing, it was only on a whim that I took a test and I was so sure it would come up negative and it didn't!

Whereas this time I'm with a new partner and we were actively trying for one of our own so I've been testing a little more regularly just hoping for a positive

Em4815 · 18/05/2023 21:57

Hi all, can I join you?! Had positive test on Saturday (think about 12dpo but was rubbish with OPKs last month!) but had a chemical in Jan so wanted to get a few days of tests under my belt. Happy to get a dye stealer today! Think I would be due around 23rd Jan.

For those worried about no symptoms, with my DS (2 tomorrow!) I literally had nothing the entire pregnancy ... the anxiety at that first scan was something else as I had no idea if there was anything happening in there. But it can happen - be thankful for feeling well!

Lilothblos · 18/05/2023 21:59

@Mummyme87 I have my scan on 6th July too, scan buddies! Feels like an absolute age away doesn’t it.
