I can see one for this so in my excitement thought I’d start one. Due date is 1st Jan for me 😊

I’m 37 and pregnant with no. 2. We tried for 4 months so lucky not too long.

Congratulations @Mummyme87 !
Great idea to stay away from the tests. I did after my 3+ as well.

As much as I'm so happy not to have morning sickness, HG or aversions I do kinda envy those of you that do as at least you know something is happening - my strongest symptom is the lack of AF

Lilothblos · 18/05/2023 09:18

@Mummyme87 hooraaay! Great news. I also got my 3+ yesterday too!

@TrudyProud I feel the same way, I’ve got no real sickness at all yet. I will probably massively regret wanting to feel something but other than sore boobs the last couple of days I feel totally normal at 5w+1!

DearSam48 · 18/05/2023 09:20

Hi all, hope you're doing well. Has anyone experienced a feel of overwhelming dread. I had a horrible feeling last night something was wrong and felt incredibly anxious and low. I've woken up this morning feeling so much better but I'm still really anxious. I have my early scan booked for Saturday for reassurance but the anxiety just came out of nowhere!

Has anyone else had this?

Hi Everyone šŸ‘‹ Tentatively joining following my scan today. I’m 5+3 so need to go back in two weeks to see if anything develops in the embryonic sac. I lost my last pregnancy at 14 weeks at the start of the year and first at 7 week last summer so this stage feels all too familiar.

Was expecting to be prescribed progesterone today but they said we need to wait until they see a baby on the next scan before they’ll give me them. Did some research online tonight which says I should have been given a 14 day prescription. Has anyone else been made to wait until later for progesterone? I was told when I lost the last baby I’d get it from 6-16 weeks.

I'm having exactly the same problem

5 weeks and called docs yesterday to ask to be prescribed due to 5 previous losses

Said they could only refer me to EPAU when I'm 6 weeks

Thought it's strange as I have read people can be put on a low dose as early as day 21 of their cycle & then increased once a heartbeat has been visualised but guess I will just wait until 6 weeks now.

outinthesun · 18/05/2023 09:28

I know there has been a few posts in here about preventing miscarriage etc , it is actually in the NICE guidelines that anyone who has experienced a previous loss should be prescribed progesterone

There's a breakdown of the info here which is really interesting

www.midirs.org/latest-news/news/2021/updated-nice-guidance-on-miscarriage-using-progesterone-to-help-prevent-pregnancy-loss/

TunnocksTCake · 18/05/2023 09:59

@outinthesun Thanks for this, just reading through the NICE guidance https://www.nice.org.uk/guidance/ng126 and it looks like they recommend it only if you have had previous MC AND have bleeding in the current pregnancy....or am I misunderstanding? Just wondering if I should be doing this myself. The overview you sent through does say any new pregnancy confirmed on scan but the NICE website seems only to refer to pregnancies with bleeding.

@Lilothblos im 5+6 and my sickness has really ramped up in the last couple of days.

It’s really rubbish and tbh makes me feel no less anxious about something going wrong so enjoy not feeling like crap šŸ˜‚

Lilothblos · 18/05/2023 10:29

@DearSam48 that sounds rubbish, I haven’t had any sudden feelings like that but more like a constant low level anxiety. Can’t recommend much to help other than trying to keep busy until Saturday, but easier said than done I know.

@buckingmad haha fair enough I will try to make the most of feeling ok whilst it lasts then! Sorry you’re feeling rubbish!

WitcheryDivine · 18/05/2023 11:24

Useful info on it here:

Lightningrain · 18/05/2023 11:25

I’ve got a lot of anxiety too. My symptoms have reduced this week (I’m 6 weeks + 5) so as much as I’m glad I’m not feeling too bad it makes me wonder if there’s still a baby growing.

I had a metallic taste in my mouth, fatigue and not wanting to eat much for 2 weeks but it seems to have gradually eased and I’m pretty much eating normally again now.

I just don’t know how some people manage to get so excited when they get their bfp. I think because it’s taken a long time for me (and IVF) I’m not letting myself be too optimistic at this stage just in case.

WitcheryDivine · 18/05/2023 11:25

Here even https://www.tommys.org/baby-loss-support/miscarriage/taking-progesterone-early-pregnancy (why does MN eat links now)

I think that guidance just relates to people who have already started with mc or ectopic symptoms possibly?

It's really difficult to know with so many different bits to read but the Tommy's link says it can be used for people who have had 1 previous loss (no mention of already starting to bleed)

Always worth asking the doctors too :)

WitcheryDivine · 18/05/2023 11:25

That's a great one - the actual NICE guildlines are quite a confusing read and Tommy's does make it easier to understand!!

cossie13 · 18/05/2023 12:34

I only had my BFP on Sunday, and it was 1-2 on a digital, I don't recall feeling sick this early with my previous 2... Anyone else feel sick from really early on?

Same! I got my BFP Sunday at 8DPO haven't had any sickness but lots of cramping as of AF is coming? Have you had any cramping?
Congratulations x

Congratulations to you too! Not sure how many DPO I was when I got my BFP because my cycles are all over the place!

I've had bits of cramping, some dull aches and some quite sharp ones too! But nothing that results in bleeding or lasts too long! I do remember cramping with my first 2. But because I didn't find out until 4/5 weeks with them, I just assumed I was due AF!

lucya66 · 18/05/2023 13:01

@TrudyProud my morning sickness didn’t kick in until 6w4d so maybe you will get it yet. I’m 7w5d now and feels like I’ve been sick forever, I’m so over it. It’s like the worst hangover but underserved :(

I have just told my boss today as I’ve been so sick and clearly not well at work. I’ve asked him to keep it private until I know more. Now I’m wishing I’d booked a private scan to check for a heart beat before saying anything. I guess if I do mc it would be good for my boss to know why I’m poorly / off. pray this doesn’t happen though.

cant wait until Saturday to be 8 weeks. I love seeing the little app update with the growth of the fetus :)

buckingmad · 18/05/2023 13:19

@lucya66 with you on the feeling hungover. I really hope I'm not the same as I was with my daughter, if I am then I have until the end of July until I feel normal 😭it's a tough slog!

DH is being pretty good about it though, he missed the first trimester with our daughter as he was deployed away on covid stuff so didn't really see this side of it before. He's cooking whatever I fancy there and then and even wasn't annoyed when he went out to get carbonara ingredients because I said that was what I wanted and then I decided when he was back that actually that made me feel sick too šŸ˜‚

LondonNQT · 18/05/2023 13:20

Oh man, I’d forgotten how clingy the cat gets when I’m pregnant! I’m not sure if it’s due to me feeling so rubbish, so I’m more immobile, or the hormones but the aggressive head butting gets a bit painful after a while.

PartRadish · 18/05/2023 13:50

3+ today here too 🄳 Exactly 7 days since I first got a 2-3 so really hoping that's a good sign šŸ¤ž

I'm really struggling with anxiety too, then I get more anxious that my anxiety itself might cause misscariage and its a vicious circle. I'd forgotten how slow and precarious these very early days feel.

No real symptoms at the moment here either, I don't think. I'm tired still and boobs are a little sore but mostly because I keep poking them to check šŸ˜… No sickness yet. I had HG in my previous pregnancies but I can't remember when it started, maybe week 6... I felt nauseous brushing my teeth last night but again that could be the anxiety.

Due January 2024 šŸŽ‰
ThomasinaLivesHere · 18/05/2023 13:55

@Lightningrain I’m the same in terms of my symptoms easing and only being strong for about 2 weeks. I had a previous pregnancy where this was the case too and that was a successful one so it doesn’t mean anything is wrong.

buckingmad · 18/05/2023 14:25

For those anxious about lack of symptoms - one of my friends literally had no symptoms her entire pregnancy and she has a lovely healthy 4 month old now. My mum felt fine with my brothers but rubbish with me and my sister. Can really vary!

Lightningrain · 18/05/2023 14:39

@ThomasinaLivesHere the rational part of me keeps thinking it’ll be fine but I’m just struggling with not thinking about it all the time.

My DM didn’t have any symptoms with her pregnancies so I’m just hoping that it’s going to be the same for me. I have an early scan tomorrow due to the IVF so I might feel a bit better if all looks ok.

TunnocksTCake · 18/05/2023 15:24

@LondonNQT My cats the same! It's funny, the other night I sat down and he came over and literally wrapped himself around my belly and purred so loud and I remembered him being exactly the same the first time round.

WitcheryDivine · 18/05/2023 15:26

What is everyone eating at the moment? I'm putting off eating but then being hungry just feels incredibly nauseating so its a bit of a vicious circle. I've had some soup.

7 week 1 day today, just keeping close the words of a PP "I'm pregnant until I'm not".
