I can see one for this so in my excitement thought I’d start one. Due date is 1st Jan for me 😊

I’m 37 and pregnant with no. 2. We tried for 4 months so lucky not too long.

@Niam4 I thought at one point they felt a bit lumpy on the sides. I definitely have one boob more painful than the other!

@LondonNQT congratulations! ā¤

Mine feel lumpy on the sides too and the right is definitely more lumpy and sore than the other, it was my 'better' boob when breastfeeding so I'm not sure if there is a link there šŸ˜‚

Mushroo · 15/05/2023 17:25

@buckingmad that sounds about right I think - it’ll be worth the wait in the end!

For me, I found weeks 4 and 5 the worst. Once I hit 6 weeks I chilled out a bit and time is going a bit quicker / I’m obsessing a bit less.

TrudyProud · 15/05/2023 17:26

@PartRadish interesting- shit tit (my affectionate name for my boob with less milk supply ) feels normal but my other one (overachiever) is very sensitive at the nipple whether or not DD is feeding. Now I'm wondering if there's a link

happyclam · 15/05/2023 17:29

Hello! I'd love to join please? I'm 4+2, due 21 January according to an online calculator.

This is my first, so I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing! Hoping to learn some tips šŸ™šŸ»

Did anyone spot multiple times in their pregnancy? I thought I already had implantation bleeding but spotting again...

I’ve had this for one occurrence yesterday and today but such a small amount that I wouldn’t have noticed if I wasn’t looking so hard and it’s been brown so it’s old blood. I’ve read it’s quite normal due to hormonal changes this early on x

Mushroo · 15/05/2023 18:47

@MrsJ6921 @xLJ1990x I had quite a lot of spotting week 4 which was light pink, and then randomly had it one evening at 5w+6 when I wiped.

From what I’ve read it’s normal and as long as not heavy / continuous it’s ok.

I never had any pain or cramps either

xLJ1990x · 15/05/2023 18:49

@MrsJ6921 mine is brown as well but it was really obvious and not because I was looking for it. I find all the online stuff a bit confusing. At least hormone changes is a reason that's not worrying 😊

MrsJ6921 · 15/05/2023 18:59

Definitely, it seems quite common as long as there is no pain and cramping which I’ve not had. It would be so much easier if 9 months happened overnight wouldn’t it!

xLJ1990x · 15/05/2023 19:00

@Mushroo that's reassuring. I had a bit of spotting last week and thought maybe it's implantation bleeding and was so relieved when it was finished. Kinda hoped that would be the end of spotting!

xLJ1990x · 15/05/2023 19:01

@MrsJ6921 it definitely would! Don't think I fully appreciated that when pregnant there would be just as much to worry about as when ttc!

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 15/05/2023 21:11

Hii, late to the party but please can I join too?
Found out Friday I'm expecting around 18th January. Although I had ds bang on 37 weeks, so maybe between Christmas and New Year šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Such a shock considering we'd been trying for over 2 years, gave up, stopped tracking ovulation and made peace with the idea that ds would be an only child. I even gave my best friend all of the baby clothes we'd kept for the next child 2 weeks ago...
Everyone told me to stop stressing and forget about trying and just be us. It worked, I didn't think it would šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

Mummyme87 · 15/05/2023 22:05

@Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese congratulations! What a wonderful surprise after the lengthy ttc process

gosh I have felt sick since about 7.30 this evening 🤢

Matildahoney · 15/05/2023 22:12

@Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese Congratulations! Everyone kept saying this to us, we were preoccupied with a house move in April so I wasn't tracking or temping! But it's hard to relax about it all.
@Mummyme87 must be a day for it, I've felt awful all day, sick, dizzy, headachey, been sick, bed time I think!

RG9895 · 16/05/2023 08:40

Hey ladies

I just realised I've never changed my Drs and it's registered at my parents house. Those of you that have had your letters, please tell me it doesn't say maternity ward on the front or something? šŸ˜‚

I wanted to wait a couple more weeks before I tell them so don't want them to find out that way!

Thank you

DearSam48 · 16/05/2023 09:36

@RG9895 oh no!! Aha don't worry, my letter looked like the address was hand written and was in a blank brown envelope so it should be discreet!

DearSam48 · 16/05/2023 09:38

Ladies, just thought I'd share a tip that's helped me with my nausea. Carbonated drinks, Pepsi max has truly been my saviour! I've also seen people swear by Coke, Fanta and Sprite

youaremysunshine03 · 16/05/2023 10:07

I’m terrible at keeping up to date with this thread! 5 weeks today and my boobs are no longer sore but still feel huge (they are far from huge but feel big to me lol) hoping things are all ok but can’t help but panic about disappearing symptoms after my MC. Just trying to remind myself that I didn’t have many symptoms with my DD and it was a smooth sailing pregnancy so hoping this one is the same. I hate this anxiety!

@RG9895 my letter came through digitally - had a text with a link through to a portal to download the letters. I’m sure it would be discreet though!

TrudyProud · 16/05/2023 10:16

@RG9895 mine was a text email to the the patient knows best app. No letters to my house.

Newest "symptom" lower back pain. I'm sat in my home office using cushions to support me in my desk chair. Really don't remember this with my daughter- maybe I need to up my Pilates or maybe it's nothing to do with pregnancy. Has anyone else had this?

TunnocksTCake · 16/05/2023 11:22

@TrudyProud yes Ive been having back pain in the same spot the last few days and I keep freaking out about it. 5w5d. I think its pretty normal, others hae said they have had it too.
Really want to get through these early days and feel less nervous all the time. I think I will register with midwives today, have been putting it off but dont want to delay scans!

94madame · 16/05/2023 11:48

Hi everyone, can I ask if you all have any appointments with a doctor before the 12 week scan? I'm not sure if this is something I'm supposed to have. Just seems a bit odd to me that you have to wait 12 weeks to speak to anyone!

Twinkles18 · 16/05/2023 11:56

Hi ladies I’m 6+5 today and had a bit of blood when wiping (sorry TMI). Has anyone had this and been ok? Worried sick..booked a scan for Monday but thinking if I should move it forward? Any advice?

WitcheryDivine · 16/05/2023 12:09

If we get that far I've got a midwife appointment booked for I think 10 weeks. What I did was call my doctors and then gave me a number to call to register with the local midwives, it's done a bit differently in different places I think.

Re letters, mine arrived saying "Private and confidential" on it with no further info on the outside, I think they are wise to the idea that many people will be living in situations where they want to be discreet.

TunnocksTCake · 16/05/2023 12:17

@94madame you have a 'booking appointment' at 8 - 10 weeks, they dont really speak to you as such at the scan its just to visually check all is ok. The booking appt is done with midwives. I have to call them direct to register the pregnancy but as pp said its different everywhere. You may just get a letter if you have told your drs but worth checking.

@Twinkles18 sorry you're having spotting, I can understand you being worried. Is it fresh or old? I had both types with my DD even at 16 weeks I had a day long bleed and all was fine but it may still be worth calling your EPU if youre worried to see if they can see you? If its just when wiping it is likely all fine, can be caused by hormone changes I think.

Cheebs · 16/05/2023 12:29

@RG9895

Mine was email as well, found it in my spam folder.
