I can see one for this so in my excitement thought I’d start one. Due date is 1st Jan for me 😊

I’m 37 and pregnant with no. 2. We tried for 4 months so lucky not too long.

Hello, hope I'm okay to join.

Nervous about posting in these groups and tempting fate but I need to get out of that mindset - have found these threads really helpful/reassuring.

I'm currently 6w+1d with a due date of 3rd Jan according to the app.

I have my first early scan booked for 7w exactly (next Weds) and have the first midwife booking appointment on 2nd June where I'll be 9w+2d (hopefully - all being well).

This was our first IVF round/transfer and have never seen 2 lines on a preg test before (male factor). It still doesn't feel real at all, feel so so nervous each day and so apprehensive about the scan next week, each stage is such a rollercoaster isn't it. I'm sort of waiting for something to go wrong but trying to remain calm and taking one day at a time!

In terms of symptoms, yesterday I felt a bit meh generally, tired (had a nap in the day the last 3 days!) and tender boobs. I did have a weird pulled muscle feeling a few weeks back which seems to have eased now but had a few cramps today on one side.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy pregnancy x

DearSam48 · 12/05/2023 06:50

Is anyone having morning sickness yet? I've been hit by it for the last three days. Waking up with intense nausea, being sick and then having light nausea the rest of the day. I'm only 5+4 so wasn't expecting it so early.

Does anyone have any tips to manage this as I feel rough?

LetsGo36 · 12/05/2023 07:13

@DearSam48 sorry you’re feeling so rough, no not had sickness yet. Xx

is anyone experiencing back ache? Right at the bottom of the back in the middle? It’s worrying me. Googled it and seems normal. Just never had this with my other children but that was a very long time ago

Lilothblos · 12/05/2023 07:17

Oh no @DearSam48 that sounds rough! I’m 4+2 and have very mild queasiness after breakfast but otherwise ok so far. No tips from experience but have heard from others that eating little and often can help?

@LetsGo36 I have a couple of friends who had the same thing, sounds totally normal!

I’ve had light cramping pretty much every day since finding out, but taking it as a good sign so far as haven’t had any bleeding.

ThomasinaLivesHere · 12/05/2023 07:24

@DearSam48 Yes have it now. Weirdly it does seem to be mostly just in the morning for me which I’m sure wasn’t the case with my first pregnancy. I feel for those who have it all day. Ginger is supposed to be good for nausea. I also find sipping ice water helps a bit.

DearSam48 · 12/05/2023 07:28

@Lilothblos yeah I've been trying the little and often approach and it does help throughout the day. The morning just seems to be the worst! I hope it stays mild for you.

@ThomasinaLivesHere yeah morning is the worst but I am then nauseous all day afterwards but don't have the urgent need to be sick which is a small win. Ooh I'll try ice water and see if that helps. I hope your nausea clears up for you soon. It's funny how every pregnancy can't be totally different!

youaremysunshine03 · 12/05/2023 07:29

@DearSam48 im only 4 and a half weeks so not really had any sickness yet, although felt a bit queasy before breakfast this morning. I’ve just had some dull cramps on and off over the last couple of days and also had a headache yesterday which only just passed this morning. Hoping they’re all good signs but it’s easy to overthink.
I think the sickness hit me in my pregnancy with my daughter around where you are now! Eating little and often, not letting myself get hungry and gingerbread men seemed to help a little šŸ˜†

tulipsunday · 12/05/2023 07:53

@LetsGo36 yep constant minor ache in lower back as well. Hips still really achey too.

Twinkles18 · 12/05/2023 07:59

I don’t really have any sickness yet which I’m glad of, then I worry that I should have it šŸ˜… didn’t have any sickness or much symptoms with my first baby so I should know not to worry but can’t help it. Ordered some more clearblue digital to hopefully see 3+ then I might book a private scan for next week to see how everything’s looking. I’m 6+1 today x

Mummyme87 · 12/05/2023 08:10

No sickness here yet, previously 6weeks is the mark when mine usually kicks in but we will see. Mine was 6-28weeks with both babies. Not letting yourself get hungry I found was the best way to keep it at bay.. slightly

sashastuck · 12/05/2023 08:39

No sickness for me either yet but it’s early days. I’m doing as much work in advance as I can whilst I’m feeling good just in case it all falls apart and I spend my planning time at work in the toilet!

Mummyme87 · 12/05/2023 09:21

I said I had no sickness, felt very sicky after breakfast and wretched a bit on the school run 🫤 fun

Buttonmoon86 · 12/05/2023 10:02

@LetsGo36 I’ve had a bit of a sore back as you have described. After spending way too many hours yesterday googling it seems normal and quite common. Touch wood it has eased off a little today

LetsGo36 · 12/05/2023 10:39

@tulipsunday and @Buttonmoon86 thank you so much for the reassurance, I was starting to worry…Button Moon, I loved that as a child!!

Smile02 · 12/05/2023 10:54

I’ve just come back from my booking appointment.
It took over an hour!
Turns out I had an earlier appointment due to complications with my first pregnancy where DS had FGR.
The requests for my scans have been made I’ll be having additional scans to check babys growth which honestly I’m excited about as it means I get to see baby more often!
