I can see one for this so in my excitement thought I’d start one. Due date is 1st Jan for me 😊

I’m 37 and pregnant with no. 2. We tried for 4 months so lucky not too long.

Dec Thread too, very nervous on how things will go as the first one.
have you cut out caffeine completely? NHS guidance suggest 1 cup is ok. I am undecided and sticking with one cup.

Ttcdcno1 · 08/05/2023 11:03

@BabyAR I’m still having 1 cup a day but then the rest decaf or fruity teas or just generally trying to drink more water because I’m rubbish with that

TrudyProud · 08/05/2023 11:18

@BabyAR I'm still having coffee if I want it. Usually once a day

sashastuck · 08/05/2023 11:18

@BabyAR I’m having 1 instant coffee a day and one or two decaf. I know there’s small amounts of caffeine in decaf but the research I’ve done suggests 2 cups of instant a day is fine. So probably adds up the same x

ThomasinaLivesHere · 08/05/2023 11:42

@BabyAR I’ve cut caffeine out. Although it’s fine to have a cup or two I normally drink so much tea that I could see myself accidentally drinking more than the limit just out of habit. So I just switched to peppermint tea and drink a lot of that.

Thank you for the quick response, that’s reassuring. I forget to drink water as well, have to really force myself

Mummyme87 · 08/05/2023 11:52

@sashastuck where did you book? I’ll be delivering at George’s as I’m a midwife there

sashastuck · 08/05/2023 12:25

@Mummyme87 St George’s! I may see you at one of my appointments then šŸ˜‚very excited to deliver there should everything go to plan, I’ve heard good things x

sashastuck · 08/05/2023 12:33

I’ve got a question about breast tenderness. My boobs have been a bit sore every day, but I’ve just realised that it’s only really the sides that are sore! No nipple soreness and it’s more around the armpit/side areas. Anyone else the same?

EL27 · 08/05/2023 13:37

@sashastuck thanks for your advice! I'm hoping it's just a one off as I feel fine now but I didn't sleep well which probably didn't help with the nausea..

Also I have the exact same thing only sore on the sideboob! šŸ˜…

Flossiepot · 08/05/2023 15:03

Hi all, hope you're all well.
Just been booked in for my first antenatal app for the 5th June. 🄰 Feeling a lot more real now.
Does anyone know what to expect?

youaremysunshine03 · 08/05/2023 15:28

Hey! Excitedly but nervously joining you all. Had my BFP two days ago at 12 dpo.
I had a MC at the end of last year so I’m pretty anxious and not even 4 weeks yet! I’ll be booking an early scan with the EPU around the 7 week mark for some reassurance.
Not really many symptoms, just a bit tired and breast tenderness has been on/off.

buckingmad · 08/05/2023 15:39

Ok I’ve done my last pregnancy test (am 17dpo). Two cheapies and got great lines. Just going to try and chill for the next couple of weeks before my private scan and hopefully hear back from the midwife in the meantime.

suz2285 · 08/05/2023 15:41

@youaremysunshine03 hey! I'm 11dpo today with a bfp after MC in Feb so right there with you! Still cautiously hoping this one stays but I feel a bit like I'm just not going to get too excited yet... and I've def found out a week earlier than last time as well, so a longer wait!

Mummyme87 · 08/05/2023 16:34

@sashastuck ah cool!! I’m a labour ward co-ordinator so not at appts but if you ever venture to triage maybe there ā˜ŗļø you must live fairly local to me.

sashastuck · 08/05/2023 17:15

@youaremysunshine03 @suz2285 Congratulations both of you xxx

MrsJ6921 · 08/05/2023 18:03

Hi everyone, I found out I am pregnant with our 1st baby today after 20 months TTC. We had started having investigations into why we weren’t conceiving and just like magic ✨. I waited a whole week after my period was due to test as we hadn’t really been thinking about it too much as I have been working away for a couple of weeks at a time. I’m currently due 8/1/24.

sashastuck · 08/05/2023 18:22

Congratulations @MrsJ6921 so happy for you! Have you noticed any symptoms in retrospect? X

BabyAR · 08/05/2023 18:25

No heartbeat at 9 weeks trans abdominal scan, should I be worried? Going for a Transvaginal scan tomorrow. Really anxious and stressed.

MrsJ6921 · 08/05/2023 18:27

I’ve a few cramps/twinges, sore/swollen boobs and my nipples have changed colour and an increase in discharge. I also had leg cramps but that’s it so far. I’m in shock that it’s happened for us as I genuinely thought we would be needing IVF. I’m happy that I’ve managed to conceive naturally x

suz2285 · 08/05/2023 18:52

@BabyAR did they say everything else was ok? Could they see properly?

I had one at 8 weeks last time I was pregnant and the external scan they could see absolutely nothing! I had to go get a transvaginal scan and it was so much clearer! I honestly don't think they should do abdominal so early, baby is teeny

Hopefully all is ok šŸ¤ž it's hard to say when they're this small mostly everything is a waiting game... it really sucks to be in limbo, wait and see what the vaginal scan says ā¤ļøšŸ¤ž

BabyAR · 08/05/2023 19:24

Thank you , nothing at all. Just asked to get it rechecked with TV scan tomorrow. It’s tough to wait and watch and Google is not helpful either. Let’s see how tomorrow goes. Thank you so much for a quick response <3

I'm sure it's fine. Are you over weight by any chance? I've heard that bigger women can struggle with scans. Good luck and let us know how it goes x

sashastuck · 08/05/2023 19:43

Will be thinking of you tomorrow @BabyAR , sure you’ll be okay, heard lots of stories similar xx

Mummyme87 · 08/05/2023 20:28

@BabyAR everything crossed for you. Why they bother with abdominal this early is anyone’s business. My early pregnancy unit so TVS as routine for everyone
