@Phoenixwings1989 thats good then 🤞💕 when will you have the NIPT? I’m sure all is fine and it will be a relief to get your bloods back. Sometimes these combined tests cause more anxiety than good in the end.

@SillyOldBear3 haha it might just be that then, double the scanning but atleast you got to see your little one for longer 🥹💓

Phoenixwings1989 · 07/04/2023 17:38

@NSX I am booked in for an appointment on Tuesday morning at half past eleven for the NIPT. Screening midwife said it will take ten days before the results will be known.

NSx · 07/04/2023 18:14

@Phoenixwings1989 hopefully they come back sooner 🤞🤍 good luck, I am hoping for a good outcome for you

Saturnsmoon · 07/04/2023 21:08

@Alexandra07 thanks so much for sharing that. My consultant was a bit vague as to why she was recommending going with the Safe test so it’s helpful to hear what you were told. Fingers crossed for good and fast results for both of us.

@Phoenixwings1989 hope you get some clarity through your nipt results and that you have some nice things planned this weekend to make the wait go quicker .

@monsteramunch were they ok doing it? I've booked one for next week - 6 days before my nhs one. Do I fib and tell them a different date?

DancingNancies · 07/04/2023 22:14

@Summer022 my scan is Tuesday too, I'll be 12+4 by then. All being well, we'll tell family afterwards.

Still haven't had any results from my booking bloods, which has been 5 weeks now, I didn't have any problems last 2 pregnancies so not particularly concerned, but does make me wonder how efficiently the rest of this is going to go! I've never even seen the same midwife twice mind, so not holding out much hope! 🙈

They said that on paper their policy is 7 days so I said mine was that instead of 6 and it was fine!

I only did so as there's zero clinical evidence of adverse effects and my midwife pal said she would be comfortable having them that number of days apart if she was pregnant again.

I've got everything crossed that yours goes well! Flowers

Evening ladies! Is anyone struggling with loss of taste? I’ve been really bunged up for just over 1 week now, I’ve also got a cough but I still can’t taste anything although I wouldn’t say I have a ‘cold’ anymore? It’s really freaking me out. It’s not covid as I tested and wondering if it’s anything to do with pregnancy.

I’m 13+4 today!

VictoriaBlossom · 07/04/2023 22:52

Wow. Sneezing.... google said round ligament pain.

That definitely caught me off guard 😂

Onethingiwantfor23 · 07/04/2023 23:02

@monsteramunch ahh that's great, thanks. I'll say the same! My symptoms have all disappeared so I'm feeling anxious so want to check.

Thank you 🤞🏻

That's exactly why I was desperate for this scan too - my symptoms seemed to just melt away so suddenly it made me panic so today was a huge relief. I've got everything crossed yours goes well - keep us posted!x

Onethingiwantfor23 · 07/04/2023 23:11

@monsteramunch That's good to hear.
Thank you, I will.
I'm glad yours went well today xx

Alexandra07 · 08/04/2023 08:54

@LWestYorks sorry, I haven't heard of loss of Taste in pregnancy. Worth doing another COVID test a couple of days after your first one. I would check with the GP. I hope you feel better soon! x

I am consultant led and my midwife said I would meet the consultant at 16 weeks. But I received an appointment for when I am 12 weeks, a couple of days after my 12 week scan. Does anyone know if consultants see you after the 12 week scan? I didn't expect that appointment.

Just catching up on all the messages! @iloveeggs we also went to a wedding when DC was only about 4 weeks old and it was actually fine. I didn't get to really see any of the ceremony though, DC kept crying and we ended up with seats right near the front so I had to go out and find somewhere quiet to feed. At the time only planned to go to the ceremony but then they had two drop outs and asked if we wanted to stay for the meal. We played it by ear and DC slept through the whole thing! Left before the evening disco though, but it was close to home so quite easy to leave. In contrast we went to another wedding when DC was 9 months and that was much more stressful. I've come to the conclusion that doing things with newborn is much easier!

NSx · 08/04/2023 12:53

Got my private scan today … measuring at 11+3 and got to heat the babies heartbeat 😩🥹🤍
everything looking good and a happy and wriggly baby with its legs in the air 🥹🤍

VictoriaBlossom · 08/04/2023 12:59

@NSx ❤️❤️❤️😍 love this!!!! I nearly booked a private scan for today but thought I'd just hold it and go to my nhs one on the 17th. I'm full of anxiety every day though

When's your nhs scan?

Koalawhala · 08/04/2023 13:19

Lovely scan news @NSx!

i agree about everything easier with a newborn @Jealousofchiliheeler! you don’t realise at the time with your first but when they’re so small and feed and sleep they are much more portable! We are planning a trip to Australia to visit relatives and thinking we may do it when baby is 2-3 months old as this may be easier than 6 months+. Maybe we are crazy though 😜

NSx · 08/04/2023 13:35

@VictoriaBlossomI only booked this for today because we want to tell our parents this wkend and our 8 week scan was a bean 😂😂😂😂 …
my 12 week scan isn’t until the 19th, so 2 days after yours. We really just did today for some nice pics for the parents/in laws.
it was also so lovely to hear their heart beat 😍 … it’s wee legs were kicking about all over the place 😂😂😂😂 how are you? 🤍

@Koalawhalathank you 🤍 it’s a relief to have a a scan after our good NIPT results this week 💓💓

Needtobuildabridge · 08/04/2023 17:36

Oh my goodness. I've spent the last few days gardening - putting in a border. I am shattered. Digging was so much effort 😂

Glad we didn't try to do it in a few weeks!

Hi ladies, anyone else’s boobs suddenly not sore at all anymore? Mine have just gone completely back to normal and naturally now I’m stressing. Saw baby with a heartbeat at 10+3 so really hoping they are still ok ☹️

blebbleb · 08/04/2023 19:22

@Summer022 how many weeks are you now? They often stop being sore towards the end of the first trimester. I'm 12 weeks tomorrow and the soreness comes and goes

LaVitesse2022 · 08/04/2023 19:31

@Summer022 same, I'm 13 weeks today and my boobs no longer sore. Just a little bit sometimes when I wake up. But they're still engorged. Had my 12 week scan last Sunday and all was normal

Summer022 · 08/04/2023 19:41

@blebbleb I am 11+3 today so hoping it’s just because I’m reaching the end of the 1st trimester as you say - they have been so sore since I ovulated so it’s so weird that they are back to normal 😟

@LaVitesse2022 i feel like mine have gone down a little bit, from about 8-10ish weeks they were giant 😆 Hopefully baby will be fine as it’s just raging hormones slowing down a touch

Mldn · 08/04/2023 20:11

I’m 10 weeks tomorrow and my boobs stopped hurting a couple days ago! Completing freaking out but trying to tell myself all is hopefully well as saw baby’s heartbeat at 8 weeks & I’ve not been cramping or bleeding. The odds are in our favour & as much as I’d love all symptoms for reassurance… no symptoms are just as normal xx
