@firsttimelondonmummy I've been quite surprised that for me the 3rd trimester is the one I've felt the best in! 1st I was so anxious, 2nd I had terrible insomnia and constipation. Those have all gotten quite a bit better lately and I've loved feeling my little boy wriggle around more and more. Just feel lucky that I havn't had any major problems, not even had any notable tiredness lately. Yes it's getting difficult turning over in bed or putting my socks on and my ribs are starting to feel a bit bruised but as things go those are minor niggles. Also I suffer from hormonal migraines and I havnt had a single one since I got pregnant which has been great! Whether I'll still feel like this in 2 months time who knows but for now I'm grateful :)

firsttimelondonmummy · 21/04/2023 15:18

@Mamma2bee my midwife flagged this morning how much your outlook affected your pregnancy.
I came in bouncing (last nights gig high was still real 😂) and she said how nice it was to see a mum to be in such a good mood given most come in moaning to her and it just got me thinking how it’d be nice to see some positive posting on here sometimes as I weirdly feel a bit alone in enjoying this time which I know sounds selfish but it’s also really lonely at times lol.

@Kelvie103 that’s such great news re the migraines! I hope the pregnancy has cured them for you 🤞🏻
I’m the same in the 1st I was riddled with anxiety but I’ve really loved the second and third.
Especially now, it’s so nice to feel him everyday and hear updates like at 32 weeks baby finds your laugh funny.
It has touch wood so far been such a pleasure to carry him 💙🥹

@firsttimelondonmummy i had a brilliant first pregnancy. Absolutely loved being pregnant. Went to 41 weeks and was gutted when I wasn’t pregnant anymore. Spent the last trimester just loving every second and getting all the baby bits prepared. When you have a good pregnancy it’s an amazing experience!

firsttimelondonmummy · 21/04/2023 18:14

@Funfamilytimes that’s so beautiful to hear.
Definitely how I’m feeling I’m just obsessed with buying stuff and nesting.
It’s so weird because I never saw myself as a mum and he was a surprise pregnancy but I’ve loved the process so far bar the first trimester anxiety 😬 but think that’s pretty common.
It’s really nice to hear positive stories like yours 💖✨

Funfamilytimes · 21/04/2023 18:40

@firsttimelondonmummy i was the exact same! Loved the nesting phase and getting everything sorted. Decorating her room and buying cute little bits. I couldn’t stop talking to everyone about the tiny milestones that were reached in pregnancy. Do you have the OVIA pregnancy app? It’s brilliant. Says what size they are and gives you daily updates of what’s happening.
You’ll be a brilliant mum I bet. If you’re enjoying buying things and getting everything ready… just imagine having the baby and having all the cuddles 🥰🥰 it’s the best feeling ever.
That’s the one thing I’m most looking forward to. The first cuddle when they are ‘here’. You’re so tired but so so bloody happy! (And also completely shocked that there’s a baby 😂)

DrinkingAllTheGin · 21/04/2023 18:55

I'm enjoying 3rd trimester most, more than 1 and 2. And especially now I know that my placenta has moved up and I'm not as worried every time I go to the loo that there will be blood.

At 32 weeks I think I have a couple of weeks before labour paranoia sets in???

AngelBlue12 · 21/04/2023 19:00

I’m feeling fine health wise, I do enjoy being pregnant but I’m stressing over stuff that needs sorting but it’s not stuff I can do anything about at the mo! Never do an international move and then find out you’re pregnant 2 weeks after you move 🤦‍♀️ lol

firsttimelondonmummy · 21/04/2023 19:07

@Funfamilytimes I don't, I’ll download it now! Thanks for letting me know 🥰
I literally love it! Can’t stop buying stuff 😂 he’s 100% not going to use everything I’ve bought him.
Ugh the first cuddle 🥹 I can’t wait!
That’s so kind of you, I hope I’ll be a good mum 🤞🏻
So this is baby number 2 for you? So exciting!

@DrinkingAllTheGin I was so stressed about labour and then I read ‘Hypnobirthing practical ways to make your birth better’ and now I’m really weirdly looking forward to it haha.
Great news on your placenta too, thrilled for you 💖

@AngelBlue12 you can only control what you can control right! I’m sure your doing everything you can at this time 🥰
That does sound a lot but you got this mama!💪🏼

DrinkingAllTheGin · 21/04/2023 19:38

Oddly I'm not worried about labour. Baby will come out some how! It's more the "is this it?" Question.
My sister had a preemie at 34 weeks so I think that is what colours my thoughts.

Givealittlebit · 21/04/2023 20:04

@Kelvie103 keeping my fingers crossed for you! My mum and aunties all had hormonal migraines too that disappeared after first baby! Here I am third pregnancy still battling with them 😂 Sod's Law! Although infinitely better since I started taking magnesium daily.

I mostly enjoy pregnancy but have had chronic back pain for the past 2 weeks, which is only really managed by lying down on my back and doing nothing. Which isn't really feasible with 2 young kids and a job!

BobbySD345 · 21/04/2023 21:55

I finish work on Wednesday and I know I will enjoy the 3rd trimester when I have time to clean and nest and relax. My job and having a 3.5 year old is really tough but only because I am so big this time round. I am 32 weeks but I am how I was at 37 weeks with my first. I love being pregnant and all the organising and buying and having a bump. I'm still having braxton hicks every 3-5 minutes. This is day 3 ! Maybe my body is telling me to relax a bit.
Is anyone having a baby shower? I've chosen not to this time round but regretting it a bit now! It's nice to be made a fuss of and see the bits people buy for baby.

firsttimelondonmummy · 21/04/2023 22:29

@BobbySD345 I am not having one either.
we’ve instead asked people to donate to a children’s charity on behalf of our little one and then we will do a little celebration post birth where I can enjoy a drink 😂 (But again will just ask for donations).

@Givealittlebit i’ve had some back pain but it weirdly gets better the more mobile I am.
Silly question but have you tried walks? I feel so much better after a dog walk.
The days I start my day with a walk I hardly get any pain!

@DrinkingAllTheGin my cousin was 5 weeks early and little one was right as rain!
I am pretty sure I was 3-4 weeks early too and same thing.
They say now 9-10 babies post 30 weeks go on to be completely healthy.❤️

@firsttimelondonmummy Ah a sip and see ! That sounds lovely. Can't wait for a nice glass of dry fizz 🤤

PurBal · 22/04/2023 06:29

@BobbySD345 @firsttimelondonmummy oo a sip and see sounds lovely. We couldn’t have a baby shower with DC1 because of Covid and it feels weird doing it the second time around. My sister is also pregnant (due August) and having two baby showers so I might be showered out. We’re having a Christening, just need to book it!

C1umsyGiraffe · 22/04/2023 06:51

@BobbySD345 we are! But we're calling it more of a "baby party" because it's co ed, it's my husbands baby too so feel he should get to celebrate plus that would be a lot of attention on just me and would make me feel uncomfortable 😂

Mistymeow · 22/04/2023 08:18

@firsttimelondonmummy Yes I’m definitely so much happier this pregnancy. My first was riddled with anxiety after two miscarriages, then baby’s growth slowed and she had to come out early. I also had gestational diabetes which was very stressful and made me miserable. I’m 32 weeks and baby is growing well, no GD so far which I am very grateful for so I’m taking the opportunity to enjoy this stage. Growth scan on Monday so am hoping I haven’t spoken too soon!

firsttimelondonmummy · 22/04/2023 08:18

@BobbySD345 @PurBal I never knew it was called a ‘sip and see’ that’s so cute 😂🥹💙

I honestly can’t wait for that first glass of champagne 🤤

firsttimelondonmummy · 22/04/2023 08:20

@Mistymeow so glad to hear this pregnancy has been smoother and more enjoyable for you! Long may it continue 🤞🏻 (up to your due date 😉💖)

Hoppyhops · 22/04/2023 08:34

I’m not having a baby shower, it’s just not for me, but my lovely friends keep nagging me to. I absolutely love the idea of a ‘Sip and See’! I’m hoping that a little gathering in the garden might be on the cards when baby’s settled in.

I had my 31 week appointment yesterday and blood results back. My iron levels have dropped from 137 to 117. The midwife said they were good to start with so she wasn’t hugely concerned and doesn’t really want to start me on iron tablets as I’m taking the pregnacare supplements anyway. Has anyone gone through something similar? I’m going to try and get as much iron into my diet as I can so if anyone has any tips on good/easy iron rich food to include, I’d be very grateful.

BobbySD345 · 22/04/2023 09:11

@Hoppyhops @firsttimelondonmummy the "sip and see" thing I think is quite popular in Australia. I think it's a fab idea.

The iron thing I've been put on tablets but they make me so constipated so if you can avoid them then 100% do !!

Kelvie103 · 22/04/2023 09:13

I'm not having a baby shower either. To me it doesn't feel right celebrating something that hasn't happened yet, I'd rather celebrate when he's born. Also I don't like the idea of asking people for presents, we didn't even have a gift list at our wedding.

@Hoppyhops my levels dropped to 118 too. Midwife just said that was fine as it was only slightly under the normal range. I just assume baby is growing bigger so taking more nutrients from me now. I'm taking pregnacare too although mostly only every other day now as I was advised to try stopping them due to the bad constipation. I try and put extra spinach in things like pasta. I buy the ready chopped frozen stuff as its small so you can't taste it and just mixes in to the sauce.

rllrsk8 · 22/04/2023 10:12

Loving the positivity, I feel almost guilty that I feel so well so trying not to overshare because I know everyone has a different journey. The difficult part for me was getting pregnant in the first place! Plus at 34 weeks I'm well aware that things could still change so trying not to jinx it. Even the midwife said she feels she should be writing more in my notes but there's nothing to say. Don't get me wrong I've got heartburn and not sleeping brilliantly, but otherwise so far so good.

Also not having a baby shower, but have a feeling some friends are planning something in May, anyway! But think it will be all of us, with husband and partners involved, and they know I don't want to be the centre of attention so think will be fine! Going to someone else's baby shower this afternoon though and really looking forward to it.

Funfamilytimes · 22/04/2023 10:42

@firsttimelondonmummy it’s a superb app. I find I check that as soon as I wake up hahah! I bought so much for my first we would take 2 outfits to events and change her half way through so she would have worn them 😂😂😂
its really nice to hear people are having good pregnancies and enjoying it. I really wish this pregnancy was like my first!
Second pregnancy and the last one too so really trying to enjoy it as much as possible 😋
what’s your due date?

C1umsyGiraffe · 22/04/2023 11:27

@rllrsk8 I'm exactly the same, been feeling great this entire pregnancy but took almost three years to get pregnant! So just feeling very very grateful to get to this point!
