I haven't seen one of these yet for December so thought I'd start one!

I'm due 1st December with hopefully a little rainbow.
I'm on cyclogest because I had 2 losses in the latter end of last year (October and december) at 6 weeks and 10 weeks.

Fingers crossed for lots of December babies!

Thanks girls... Is it likely you'll see a heartbeat at 6 weeks? If I go by my LMP I'd be 6+1 today but if I go by tracking ovulation (which is obviously much more reliable! I ovulated late due to a cp the month before) I'd only be 5+4 today. I should be 6 weeks on Saturday but I'm so scared if I went for a scan too early and they didn't see a hb I'd be even more worried...

KIWI2023 · 12/04/2023 12:44

@HannahLouD I was 6+5 from LMP but have 30/31 day cycles so was actually 6+3 and we saw their heartbeats. It was a transvaginal scan and they said you wouldn't have seen much on abdominal before around 9 weeks x

HannahLouD · 12/04/2023 12:46

@KIWI2023 thank you! I think I'll see how I feel over the weekend and go from there x

Alexis7890 · 12/04/2023 12:46

@HannahLouD I arranged mine with my nhs clinic this morning, they book the viability scan at 7 weeks as they say 6 can be unreliable with how much you can see. But plenty do them at 6 and say you can see heartbeats!

HannahLouD · 12/04/2023 12:47

@Alexis7890 maybe I should wait until closer to 7 weeks then... I'm just so impatient and want to know if things are progressing or not 🙈 I never felt this anxious with my daughter. I think the early loss last cycle has really thrown me x

RebeccaMabel · 12/04/2023 14:46

I’m so easily influenced by you lot! Did one of the tests that date conception today just out of curiosity. The ‘2-3 weeks’ result aligns with what I expected and I’m pretty certain my original estimated due date of 17 December is bang on.

Started a notes file on my phone with the key dates, pics of tests, and a checklist of things to do.

Completed my self referral to the local antenatal unit, too. It has an ‘outstanding’ rating and is a regional teaching hospital for maternity, so I guess that’s all good? Funny how I literally didn’t know or care about any of this a week ago!

Mummy1502 · 12/04/2023 14:58

Hi ladies, I got my positive yesterday 1 day late for af, did a digital today to confirm, due Christmas Eve if all goes well! Feeling very anxious after a chemical a couple of cycles back x

Really excited to be posting on this thread at 5+6 after two losses last year. I am so scared.

I was worried about having no symptoms but then I needed two naps this afternoon so hopefully this is a good sign.

I am thinking of holding off until 10 weeks for a private scan. When would people recommend a first private scan?

PhyllisVance23 · 12/04/2023 18:45

Really gross question - anyone experienced a glob of cm, like an actual glob that can't be stretched or pulled apart? It reminds me of my mucous plug that I lost before labour from my last pregnancy.

I don't remember having this in early pregnancy but I was bleeding all the time last time so may have missed it.

Threepio · 12/04/2023 20:22

Hi all,

Tentatively joining... I'm 4+2 today but had a MMC last November so just a little anxious about this pregnancy.

Congrats to everyone who is here. I'm also considering an early scan if things continue to 7-8 weeks!

99SR · 12/04/2023 20:31

@Formaddict i had a private scan at 6 weeks last October, it showed a heart beat but I went on to lose it at 9+1 in November. I kind of want to do an early scan this time but I’m thinking leave it til 10 weeks so if anything’s wrong I’ll know before 12 weeks so it’s not a shock at the nhs one. Couldn’t face seeing the heartbeat to then be told I’ve lost it 3 weeks later again ☹️

Formaddict · 12/04/2023 20:50

I am so sorry.

I think I agree, 10 week just to be sure, but I can’t bring myself to do an earlier one just in case something happens between this and the NHS scan

OnNaturesCourse · 12/04/2023 23:13

Hi ladies.

I'm tentatively marking my place here.

I think I am about 4w 5d - unplanned, very big surprise as it appears contraception has failed us for the first time in 15 years.

We have been back and forth on our options to continue pregnancy or not. DP very much in the abort side to start with, I wasn't. We are now both about 70/30 in favor of continuing. Have agreed to see how the next few weeks ago and allow our heads to sort themselves a bit.

Very nauseous, gassy, constipated, emotional and tired. So, so tired.

So far my tests have been super positive. To the point I questioned my dates for a while! FRER taken at 4w, and the cheapie taken today.

@OnNaturesCourse that must've been a massive shock! It took a long while for me and my DH to get used to the idea of it all with my first pregnancy, and that was a very much wanted and planned baby. When that test comes back positive and you suddenly see the next few months/years of pregnancy and parenting all laid out in front you, it's very overwhelming. BPAS offer a "choices" counselling session which might help you with your decision.

@PhyllisVance23 Without being even more TMI...yes!! I figure it's evidence that my cervix is battening down the hatches for the next 7.5 months 😅

SMG1992 · 13/04/2023 12:20

I've self referred through GP/midwife today and am going to book a scan for 1st May when I should be 7 weeks. I was going to wait as am feeling very anxious but I figure I need to look forward to these milestones and keep a positive mindset.
Still no symptoms for me yet, am going to take another CB test on Sunday/ Monday and am hoping it says "3 weeks +" !

I hope everyone else is doing well.

HannahLouD · 13/04/2023 12:25

@SMG1992 also thinking of booking a scan for next weekend as I'll be 7 weeks then.
Really starting to worry as I'm 5+5 today and have no nausea at all.
Also, my nipple pain has been constant and they're still really red and hard all the time 🤢😅🙈 but I had tingly boobs from 4-5 weeks and they haven't come back.
My only real, obvious symptoms (unless I symptom spot which I totally am!) Are the nipples and exhaustion... But even the tiredness is kinda normal for me and the extra fatigue could just be down to my daughter's birthday/party and Easter being all over the weekend...
Worried I should feel "more pregnant," at this point. Never had this with my first... Was a total accident/surprise so didn't think about any of this at all and just went with the flow. Now all I seem to be doing is analysing everything that does/doesn't happen, 24/7.
Why are these first weeks so hard 😩🤦🏻‍♀️

Hope everyone's doing well!!x

Mummy1502 · 13/04/2023 12:26

@HannahLouD if it makes you feel any better I'm 7+2 today with twins and haven't vomited, my nausea is only bad when I'm hungry and goes after I've eaten x

HannahLouD · 13/04/2023 12:33

@Mummy1502 so happy for you! 🤞✨
@KIWI2023 I really need to calm down 🙈🤦🏻‍♀️ so amazing you have twins in there! 😍
